00:00Hi Angelina, it's so lovely to see you again. The last time I saw you was for
00:04Maleficent, which feels like a lifetime ago. Listen, you've blown me away in this.
00:08I mean, learning to sing opera in seven months, what a challenge. What was the
00:14driving force that kept you pushing through the challenges of making this
00:18movie?
00:19You know, it's such a beautiful art form and so as much as it was
00:26terrifying and I felt like it's just the impossible to do and I hadn't really
00:29sung, I had a wonderful director who supported me and made me feel safe and
00:35believed in me and wonderful actors to work with.
00:40But also it's quite a gift to have lessons and be at a time in
00:47your life where you get to learn a new skill and I had wonderful teachers and
00:52I got to, you know, be this extraordinary human being and be in her shoes and I
00:57love her.
00:58I'm waiting for the Angelina Jolie album now.
01:03If I get drunk enough, maybe.
01:08It's an absolute pleasure to see you today.
01:12I wanted to ask you, there's a lot of awards around your performance. Does this mean a lot, especially for this film?
01:17It does actually mean a lot. You know, I think that's obviously never the reason to do anything or it doesn't mean something if you do or don't.
01:26You can't measure work that way, but of course when you work hard and someone says you're deserving of something or they think it's good, it of course makes you feel grateful and happy.
01:40So thank you.
01:41Thank you very much.
01:44Hi, I'm Isaac from Greece. Can I ask you what impressed you most in the film when you did it in Greece?
01:50What did you like the most in Greece?
01:52The people.
01:53Yes?
01:54I love Greek people. I had a wonderful time. I was so happy we started the film in Greece and we felt the support and had wonderful conversations with people I met.
02:05And I felt I was getting a, you know, how can you play Maria if you don't connect and meet and talk with the Greek people?
02:14Have you ever been before in Greece?
02:17Yes, yes. I filmed in Santorini many years ago.
02:21Angelina, about being a movie, what was the biggest challenge in becoming Maria and did you have any personal lessons from embodying her?
02:30Technically the biggest challenge was singing and me getting over my nerves to sing in front of people.
02:39And I think the hardest thing maybe in some ways when you play a real person you just take it so seriously and you're so worried to disappoint not only her
02:50but she has many people that love her and that she means a lot to and I didn't want to fail them and the opera world.
03:00Well you did a fantastic job. It's such a brilliant movie.
03:04Thank you so much.
03:05Of course. Have a great night.
03:07I like it a lot.
