00:00To officially open their 4th season,

00:03a press conference was held this Friday in Taguig

00:06for the 2024 Philippine Football Federation Women's Cup.

00:10Here's Daryl O'Clarice.

00:15In the theme of Rise of the Queens,

00:17this week, the 4th edition of the 2024 Philippine Football Federation Women's Cup

00:24will have 6 players competing in the All-Women Football Tournament

00:28including Kaya FC, Manila Digger FC,

00:33Stallion Laguna FC, Tuloy FC,

00:36Yumak Azuri FC, and Leach Hot FC.

00:40Although the Women's Cup will be held on the 2nd of March,

00:45a press conference was held this Friday in Taguig.

00:50First, the PFF officials attended the press conference

00:54led by General Secretary Angelico Mercader.

00:58We thank all the teams who are participating.

01:00Kaya, Azuri, Stallion, Manila Digger, Leach Hot, and Tuloy FC.

01:06And we hope that more teams will participate in the league next year.

01:12Some members of the Philippine Women's National Football Team also attended

01:16and gave their support for the Women's Cup.

01:20It's really important to have leagues like this to push the football here

01:24and to see the sport grow

01:26and to have so many familiar faces

01:29to make football more attainable for little girls and little boys here

01:33I think is what matters the most.

01:35It's been an exciting couple of months trying to get this all together

01:38and I know how hard everyone's been working to put this all together

01:41and so I'm very thankful

01:45and we're just really excited that this tournament is up and running

01:49and we're very grateful because these are tournaments that need to happen

01:55for young girls to be able to also dream

01:58because you're giving us a platform to play and grow the sport in our own ways

02:05so for little girls to dream that they can be like us one day

02:09is very powerful and I think that's where we're all going at.

02:13The Women's Cup 2024 will also serve as qualifiers

02:17for the PFF Women's League.
