00:00Congressmen were not able to save the office of the Vice President of some safe houses of 2022, which reached Php 16 million in just 11 days.

00:20In the continuation of the hearing of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability on the issues regarding the budget utilization of the office of the Vice President,

00:33the Congressmen mainly blamed the details of the use of OVP in Php 125 million of confidential funds in 2022 in just 11 days.

00:46Php 16 million was used to pay the rent of the 34 safe houses, which is too expensive for congressmen.

00:58Committee Chair Joel Chua was shocked.

01:01Why is the rent of these safe houses more expensive than some luxury resorts and units in Boracay and Taguig City?

01:10Didn't you wonder that Php 1 million is too expensive in just four days? What kind of safe house is this?

01:16Is this a swimming pool safe house?

01:21Does it have Wi-Fi in the BGC?

01:26We don't have information on what kind of safe house this is.

01:30The Commission on Audit explained that there's documentary evidence that OVP was used by them.

01:36But because these are confidential funds, these are just acknowledgment receipts.

01:41In other words, we can or the COA relies only on the documentary evidence of payment, mainly.

02:33and did not follow in aid of legislation, so they are not facing this.

02:38Aside from the OVP, the issues related to the budget utilization of DepEd were also discussed.

02:44Vice President Sara Duterte was the one who led this.

02:48This is where the sound of opposition to the governor of Surigao del Sur, Vice Chair John E. Pimentel,

02:55and former DepEd Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III, was heard.

02:58Pimentel challenged Densing for corruption.

03:02It's a blatant lie, asking for commission. It is the very reason I'm process-oriented.

03:24This is a pathological liar.

03:28What I will do, Mr. Chair, is gather more evidences to prove that what I am saying is true.

03:37That Mr. Epimaco Densing is a very corrupt person.

03:42He is a coward in the public service.

03:44He has been asking commissions for the release of funds for the school buildings.

03:50In the next few days, the committee is expected to continue their hearings to prove the truth.
