00:00God is who He says He is, and He doesn't change.
00:05In Malachi 3 verse 6 God declares, I am the Lord, and I do not change.
00:11Because God never changes, His promises don't change based on the world around us.
00:17Because God does what He says He's going to do, we have complete confidence that His word
00:22is true and His promises stand forever.
00:25The most significant promise that He's made to us is that when we believe in Jesus Christ
00:30as our Lord and Savior and trust in the power of His death, burial, and resurrection, we
00:37will spend eternity with Him.
00:39God promised us His Holy Spirit, and we know that He never leaves us nor forsakes us as
00:45He guides us and dwells within the heart of every believer.
00:49God promises to carry our burdens and teach us His ways in Matthew 11 verse 28 to 30.
00:55Then Jesus said, Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will
01:01give you rest.
01:03Take My yoke upon you.
01:05Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for
01:10your souls.
01:11For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.
01:16God promises that we will have an abundant life through His Son in John 10 verse 10.
01:22The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy.
01:26My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
01:30God has made so many more promises in Scripture, and all of His promises are permanent.
01:36That's His character, that's who He is.
01:39One of the most beautiful truths of God's character is that His love for us doesn't
01:43change based on anything we do, because He never changes.
01:48Hebrews 13 verse 8 His love doesn't change for us based on our actions.
01:53What reassurance we have that God will not change His mind about loving us when we mess
01:58up and do things that don't honor Him.
02:01What an incredible truth of God's character that we can be thankful for.
02:06God will not change His mind based on our actions or anything that man can do because
02:11God is immutable, meaning He doesn't change.
02:15Father, we give You thanksgiving and praise today because You are God and You are who
02:20You say You are.
02:22Because of this truth, we have complete confidence that we are redeemed from the penalty of our
02:27sin through the redeeming blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
02:32Father, help us to remember this truth about You and to respond with our adoration to You.
02:38Amen.
02:39Journal Writing Prayer Prompt Have you ever questioned whether God would
02:43still love you after you did, said, or thought something?
02:47What promises of Scripture helped you understand that God's love for you doesn't change based
02:52on your actions?
02:54Why does God's being unchanging make you thankful?
02:57As you've walked closely with God, how has your understanding of what abundant life means
03:03changed from when you were a new believer to now?
03:06What examples of the abundant life have you experienced in your walk with Jesus?
