00:00Hello guys, this is Checo, and these are my essentials.
00:11My racing helmet.
00:12This is the one that I'm racing with.
00:14If there's a very special race or if I win the race, I always keep it.
00:18If there's just like a normal race or a bad race,
00:21I keep wearing it until it's a good one and then I keep it with me.
00:25I have the initials at the back.
00:27This is my logo together with my number that I use, which is number 11.
00:31And then my message.
00:33Every time I put the helmet on, I always look at this message.
00:36And then the flag at the top.
00:38Since I was in karting, I always wanted to wear my flag.
00:42The Mexican flag on top.
00:43It's really light.
00:44That's the key to it.
00:46And efficient.
00:46You know, it can resist a massive impact and it will never break.
00:50Also the visor.
00:51The visors are really strong.
00:53I have like 10 tear-offs per race.
00:55And whenever it gets too dirty, I remove them.
00:57And then I have a clean visor again.
00:59But I have to balance it out because you cannot remove them too quickly.
01:02Otherwise, you run out of space before the race finishes.
01:07It depends.
01:08You know, it has a cost for the public.
01:10Most of it is hand painting.
01:12I think for painting, it's like €2,000.
01:15And then for buying the helmet, it's like €5,000.
01:19Total about €7,000 or so.
01:21But I don't sell them, so they're priceless.
01:24I've only auctioned them for my foundation.
01:26And they've been auctioned for like €200,000,
01:31which everything goes into the foundation.
01:34My foundation, it's all about kids.
01:36We look after a lot of kids.
01:37They don't have parents.
01:39And we look after them from a very young age till they are 18.
01:47My watch that I always have to wear.
01:49I have like maybe 50 watches.
01:52Yeah, I like watches.
01:53This is a special watch for me that was given by TAG when I won Monaco.
01:58They engraved the date and the track.
02:00It has a lot of history within the sport.
02:03And so it's great to be sponsored by such a brand.
02:06I really like it.
02:07It's really light and sporty.
02:09So it's always with me on every track appearance.
02:13It's a special edition for me.
02:14This is definitely my favorite watch.
02:16It means a lot to me.
02:20Next up, my KitKats.
02:22The favorite brand of my kids.
02:24Wherever I go, what they want to bring as a surprise is a KitKat.
02:28It's pretty easy because I have a lot of different flavors.
02:31They get really excited.
02:32So yeah, I take them with me.
02:34I love it.
02:35We all as a family love them.
02:36So it's pretty easy.
02:38My favorite flavor, I mean, it's all of this.
02:41Look, this is the best thing about KitKats.
02:43You can't get tired of it.
02:46You know, they have so many flavors.
02:47For example, when I go to Japan,
02:49I buy a lot of KitKats because in Japan,
02:52I am able to find flavors like the matcha one.
02:56You cannot find them anywhere else in the world.
02:59Or if I'm in the US or in different parts of the world,
03:02you find different flavors.
03:04Top five.
03:05The first one is the dark.
03:06Then I will say the matcha.
03:09Then cookies and cream, caramel.
03:13What would be the other normal one?
03:15The standard KitKat.
03:16How do you open?
03:18They always cut it for me.
03:19So that's why it was so easy.
03:21Have a break, have a KitKat.
03:23Then you cut it like this.
03:24All right.
03:31Next is my Patron Cristalino.
03:33I like the Patron Cristalino because it's just pure and clean.
03:39I always take it with me.
03:40If I meet someone that I like, I always give it as a gift.
03:45Or if we have a great time, you know, with friends, I open it up.
03:50Or we have a good race to celebrate as well if there's time.
03:53Or on the plane.
03:54So there's always one with me.
03:56The proper way to drink Patron Cristalino is on the rocks.
03:59When I have to mix it, and when I'm with friends or so,
04:01I mix it with soda.
04:08Yoga booth.
04:11So my trainer takes care of them and they always bring them.
04:14And they always bring them to the track for activation, coordination.
04:18We do different sort of exercises with them.
04:21It helps you with vision, with the reaction.
04:23Helps me to switch my brain on.
04:25We also play with some lights for reaction and also some juggling for coordination.
04:31Like everything, the more you do it, the better you get at it.
04:37This is a paddle racket.
04:38Paddle is just a very easy sport to get into.
04:42It's a bit like, I would say, like tennis, but with walls around you.
04:46So you have to use the walls to help you.
04:49And it's a lot easier to get into than tennis.
04:52It goes really well with our sport.
04:54It's good for the cardio.
04:55It's good for the coordination, reaction.
04:58So it's a great sport.
04:59I'm average, I'd say.
05:00It helps a lot with jet lag, for example.
05:03Or with the relationship with engineers.
05:06We have actually a paddle court at the Red Bull factory.
05:10So we can play with Christian, for example, or with engineers.
05:14And so it's pretty cool.
05:15I always take it with me.
05:16And when I'm on the track, we sometimes play within the drivers.
05:20I think paddle is a great sport.
05:21So it's always with me.
05:22I don't have a paddle court at home yet, but I'm thinking of getting one.
05:29Next is my water bottle.
05:32I like to drink very cold water.
05:34So this one helps me to keep water really cold.
05:37Regardless of if I'm at the hotel, at the track, I always drink it from here.
05:42It doesn't matter at what point of the day I'm drinking it.
05:45It's always really cold.
05:46I might drink two of these a day.
05:52This is my iPad.
05:53It helps me to keep up to date with what's going on with my life.
05:58I don't have social media on my phone.
06:00I only use it sometimes on my iPad.
06:02I delete it very often from my phone.
06:05I don't like to look at it because I feel like it's a waste of time.
06:09Every time I want to see it on my phone, I have to download it.
06:12So it makes you conscious of the amount of time you're going to waste.
06:17So yeah, I prefer not to have it on my phone.
06:20I also put all the stuff that I synchronize with my phone.
06:24So what I have in the next week coming up and stuff like that.
06:28Or watch a movie, a series, or chat to my family.
06:33The last one I watched was The Gentleman.
06:36My top show is Antares.
06:38It has to be number one.
06:40I really like the movie, the series.
06:42It's really, really cool.
06:44I'm always changing, but I would say that would be the number one.
06:51Next item, my phone.
06:53I don't have social media on my phone.
06:55You won't actually believe it, but this is just a phone for me.
06:57I just make calls or send messages.
07:00I also take photos of places that I go, of my family.
07:04When I'm on the plane, to watch the pictures that I've taken.
07:07When I'm with the engineers, I take pictures of things that I have to look at them.
07:11So when I'm quietly at my hotel, I'm able to look at telemetries of videos
07:15or videos from previous races or from other drivers on my phone.
07:20I like to watch the stock market, CNBC.
07:24Because it gives me a lot of visibility on what's going on with the world.
07:31This is a picture of my family.
07:33I bring a picture of my family to every race and my backpack.
07:37And always when I get to the hotel room, I put it on the side.
07:40So it makes me feel like I'm a bit at home.
07:43Always when I come back from the track, from circuit or whatever,
07:46I look back at it and I always feel like they're with me.
07:52I would like to tell them the most important is to be happy and to chase your dreams.
07:57I will support them in whatever they want to do.
08:01I'm a bit of a girly dad. I'm probably a bit too easy with my girls.
08:12That's it. Those are all my essentials. See you at the track.
