00:06know that the Trio Gaspar is coming our way for a concert for the Chichester Chamber Concert
00:12Series. Nicholas, tell me about how long have you been going as a trio?
00:18Hi there, so we've been going as a trio for about 15 years actually, and I joined 10 years
00:26ago, and it's a real privilege to be coming to the UK again to play a programme that we've
00:32not really played in the UK at all, with some really unusual Hungarian composers.
00:38And that's a project that you've got on Budapest at the moment, isn't it?
00:45Exactly, yeah. At the end of November we're going to travel to the UK to record in the
00:51place we always record for Chandos in Suffolk, a beautiful hall there called Pottenpole.
00:56And we'll be recording not just the Hungarian pieces, so we have trios by Beres and Leita,
01:07but also the big Brahms C major trio, which has a lot of Hungarian influences in it,
01:13which is why it fits so nicely into the programme. Fantastic, and the fact that you're coming back
01:17to the UK is of great significance for you. You grew up in the UK, being half German, half English.
01:24Indeed I did. I grew up near, close to Manchester in Wigan, and I grew up bilingually, and when I
01:32decided to come to Germany to study, after having studied first in England, and yeah,
01:37I ended up making my life here, and the trio is based here in Europe. It's, Bastian and Jonian
01:44are now currently living in Vienna as of this year, and so I'm quite excited about getting to
01:50go to Vienna more regularly in the next few weeks and months. I will leave you to your cafe,
