00:00The caller hadn't heard from her daughter in some time.
00:13When we discovered the handprints in blood, my stomach dropped.
00:16I don't think I screamed loud enough.
00:20The video surveillance played an integral part in the investigation.
00:24The trooper saw a shovel and pickaxe in the car.
00:27The suspect had extensive burns on his face and all over his hands.
00:31I was very shocked.
00:33I want him to pay for what he did.
00:36What were you thinking?
00:38I think you already know.
00:57Come here, I want to show you something.
01:14Budding fashion designer, Christina Proden lives with her boyfriend, Joseph Porter.
01:21Joseph and Christina met online in 2017.
01:26While Joseph lived with me in Arkansas, I think he had only been talking to her one
01:33or two days when he brought me the laptop and said, Mom, what do you think?
01:40I went, she's gorgeous.
01:44She's out of your league.
01:46Joseph ended up leaving Arkansas and he moved himself up to Adina.
01:54What do you think?
01:57It's gorgeous, babe.
01:58Christina had a desire to go to fashion school.
02:03She wanted her own label and she was on her way.
02:08I'm glad you like it.
02:10It's my favorite.
02:11She was bubbly and sweet.
02:16Her eyes would shine when she was happy and I loved that about her.
02:23Do you want to go to dinner tonight?
02:25Definitely.
02:27And they'd go out to dinner and she'd be excited to call me afterwards and say, this is why
02:32I love him.
02:34He's so kind.
02:36He's so thoughtful.
02:38He's so caring.
02:46911 emergency.
02:48On January 5th, 2018, the Adina Police Department received a 911 call.
02:55The caller was Olivia Prodin, the mother of Christina Prodin.
03:00She hasn't heard or spoken with her in a few days, which is uncommon for their relationship.
03:06And she had not spoken with her since January 2nd.
03:13The Adina police officer responded to Christina Prodin's condominium and met with Olivia Prodin.
03:28The officer does not find Christina and does not find her boyfriend, Joseph.
03:33There's a suitcase in the living room, a refrigerator full of food.
03:37Nothing really seemed out of order with the exception of the master bedroom.
03:41There was clothes on the floor in neat Ziploc bags.
03:46And so it appeared as though maybe they were in the midst of packing to go somewhere and
03:52just hadn't finished that process yet.
03:55The officer attempted to make contact with Joseph Hoarder to locate his whereabouts by
04:00calling a phone number he located in police records, but it went straight to voicemail.
04:07There was no clear indication one way or another what may have happened.
04:11That's why the officer listed Christina as missing, so we could try to get some of those
04:15answers.
04:16Her text stopped coming in.
04:18I couldn't sense anything about her except for she's gone.
04:26Police also list Christina's boyfriend, Joseph Hoarder, as a missing person.
04:39Detective Moore.
04:40So I was contacted by the duty sergeant and was asked to start working the case to see
04:44if we can locate Christina and Joseph Hoarder.
04:48When was Christina's cell last used?
04:50According to the cell carrier, the last time that Christina's phone was active was on January
04:554th at approximately 4.13 in the morning, the day before Livia Prodin reported her missing.
05:02That ping was in the area of Christina's condo.
05:07Since that time, there was no other activity on that device.
05:10What about Joseph's cell?
05:11The information we received regarding Joseph's cell phone was that it was disconnected on
05:17or about January 3rd, 2018.
05:20When it was learned that both cell phones had been off for that long, it definitely
05:24raised some red flags, and we grew concerned for the safety of Christina.
05:34Investigators interview Christina's mom, Livia, at the police department to learn more about
05:38the missing couple.
05:39Let's start in the beginning.
05:42When did Joseph Hoarder come to live with her in Minnesota?
05:461st of October.
05:48And how did your daughter meet him?
05:49On Facebook.
05:50He's from Arkansas, correct?
05:53Livia Prodin disclosed that Christina met Joseph online in the summer or early fall
05:59of 2017, and shortly thereafter, Joseph traveled from Arkansas up to Minnesota to live with
06:07Christina.
06:08So how often?
06:09Did you talk to her?
06:10Like two, three times a week.
06:11When was the last time you talked to Christina?
06:12Wednesday, when she left me a message at 8.54 on the phone.
06:13And what did it say?
06:14She told me she want to go in Arkansas, but I will go with him.
06:29Livia tells law enforcement that Christina had told her that she and Joseph were talking
06:36about plans to move to Arkansas, but she didn't know where they would move to in Arkansas.
06:42So it was a possibility.
06:44Christina and Joseph were now in Arkansas, so we wanted to speak with Livia Prodin to
06:49develop as much information about Christina as possible.
06:53Any friends she may have to look at anybody else that may be a potential suspect in Christina's
06:59disappearance.
07:00Does Christina have a best friend that she would always talk to?
07:01Jacob.
07:02Jacob is the only one?
07:03Yes.
07:04In our conversation with Livia, she indicated that Christina had been potentially seen another
07:12person.
07:13He messaged a lot to her on this phone.
07:14She send a lot of message.
07:15Whose phone is that?
07:16Phone is mine.
07:17My Christina told me to give this phone to her because you can talk with also with Jacob
07:18and with the other phone, that smartphone to talk with Joseph.
07:34Christina had communicated with Jacob on another cell phone so that Joseph didn't
07:39find out.
07:40That was a red flag for us.
07:42We had to determine whether or not Jacob was involved with the disappearance of Christina.
07:47Can we take that phone?
07:48Sure.
07:49Okay.
07:50Investigators send the phone to digital forensic specialists for analysis.
07:57Detectives secure a warrant to search Christina's condo.
08:03When you're looking for items of evidence or stuff that may provide leads, were there
08:10any details about a trip?
08:12Any other details, any other locations we may need to look for?
08:18A Walmart receipt was located that was dated January 2nd, 2018 and timestamp 416 hours.
08:31This was the same day that Christina last spoke to her mom.
08:37We may be able to recover video surveillance that may show people Christina was associating
08:43with.
08:44So we contacted Walmart to get that video surveillance as soon as possible.
08:48I'll call them.
08:56Investigators review the surveillance footage at the police department.
09:01There's quite a bit of anticipation built up to try and see where this investigation
09:05might go from there.
09:06The timestamp on the receipt is 416 p.m.
09:09Could you start us half an hour before then?
09:31Stop.
09:32Rewind.
09:33Punch in.
09:34That's her.
09:35Stop.
09:36Rewind.
09:37Punch in.
09:38That's her.
10:02Christina can be seen wearing a dark winter jacket, a scarf, and a dark hat.
10:05It appears she's got some dark-brimmed glasses on.
10:09Play that again.
10:13Who's that?
10:20Christina appears to be with another person.
10:30Christina's with the male.
10:31He's wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with some type of logo on the chest, a dark hat,
10:36tan pants, and some boots.
10:38Pause it.
10:40Zoom in.
10:43So based on the physical characteristics of the other person that she was with, we determined
10:48that the other person was Joseph Porter.
10:50Have you got a camera over the kiosk?
10:55So a few minutes before the time of the receipt.
11:00What we see is a couple doing their normal grocery shopping, looking at some of the perishable
11:07food items that they had selected.
11:09It didn't appear as though they had any plans to go anywhere.
11:13Show me the exterior camera.
11:30Punch in.
11:31That's them.
11:39The surveillance footage offers no explanation why Christina and Joseph disappeared.
11:47Nothing suspicious.
11:48No.
11:58Investigators return to Christina's condo to search for more clues.
12:03In the search warrant, one of the suitcases that was left behind was locked.
12:09We located a key for that when we unlocked it.
12:12We found approximately $1,100 in cash inside.
12:17And we also found her identification card, her TCF debit card, and her state benefit
12:23card.
12:24All of this was a red flag for us as normally when people travel, those are all things that
12:29they're going to need.
12:30Cash, their ID, et cetera.
12:33If you look at the totality of what we found in the condo, it wasn't indicative of somebody
12:40that had left the condo willingly.
12:43We have to look for any signs for something that might have happened to Christina inside
12:48that condominium.
12:52Investigators spray the condo with luminol.
12:56What we're looking for is any signs of blood or other bodily material that can't be seen
13:01with the naked eye.
13:04We found handprint on the carpet in the bedroom.
13:09When we discovered the handprints and blood, my stomach dropped.
13:13That was the first major indication of foul play.
13:18It is an aha moment that we believe something happened in that apartment, but we don't know
13:24who left that and when it was left.
13:27So the crime scene technicians took a sample swab from that blood.
13:33While the forensics team analyzes the blood, investigators trace Christina's friend, Jacob
13:44Patton, and invite him to the police department for an interview.
13:49Since Jacob had a relationship with Christina, we felt it was very important for him to be
13:54interviewed and rule him out as a possible suspect in her disappearance.
13:58When did you first start talking to her?
14:00Halfway through September maybe?
14:02You met her in person?
14:03I met her.
14:04She was like, yeah.
14:05I'm in a relationship.
14:06I'm looking for friends.
14:07I was like, oh, okay.
14:08And then we started talking after that.
14:14Jacob disclosed that he and Christina met on a dating app.
14:18He was aware of the sexual relationship between Christina and Joseph.
14:22Did you have a romantic relationship with her at all?
14:25Ever?
14:26Or at that point?
14:27Well, yeah.
14:28I mean, it sort of progressed into that.
14:30Yeah, we were dating actually for like two and a half months up until last week.
14:36It was important to directly ask him whether or not he was involved in the disappearance
14:41of Christina and see what type of reaction we would get.
14:45Where did you meet Christina?
14:47No idea.
14:49Why shouldn't we think that you did something to her?
14:52I know that she actually does like me.
14:56I know she loves me and I think that, I think that Joe made some sense to it and I think
15:03that's why she stopped talking to me.
15:06So you don't have any problems if I look at your phone now?
15:08No.
15:09Don't look at it.
15:10Okay.
15:11He willingly provided consent for law enforcement to search his phone.
15:19A review of Jacob Patton's cell phone didn't reveal any evidence that would lead us to
15:24believe he had any involvement in Christina Proden's disappearance.
15:29Jacob seemed very truthful.
15:30He seemed honest.
15:31He wanted to provide information.
15:34We didn't believe he was involved.
15:37Investigators rule out Jacob as a suspect and refocus on Christina's boyfriend, Joseph.
15:44Early on in the investigation, Joseph Porter was entered as a missing person into NCIC,
15:50which is a National Crime Information Center, so that if other law enforcement agencies
15:55have had contact with them, we could be immediately notified.
16:01Detective Moore.
16:03We learned that he was involved in a traffic stop in Greene County, Missouri on January
16:084th at about 8.30 in the evening.
16:12Joseph is 600 miles away from Edina, Minnesota, when Missouri Highway Patrol pulls him over.
16:17The stop happens 16 hours after Christina's last communication with her mother.
16:22It's very important to obtain any video of that traffic stop.
16:27Can you send it over to us?
16:28Okay.
16:39Could you show us the dash cam?
16:42Okay.
16:48We watched the trooper make an approach around the vehicle.
16:53Show that again.
16:58Freeze.
17:02Zoom in.
17:04During a small portion of that time, his flashlight illuminated the back seat, and we could see
17:11two pieces of luggage in the back.
17:16Interesting.
17:19Play on.
17:21The trooper speaks to Joseph Porter through the passenger window.
17:24Hey, the reason I'm stopping your tags, they're showing that they're expired.
17:27Expired?
17:28Yeah, they're showing that they expired in July of last year.
17:31I just bought this car.
17:37The trooper saw a shovel and pickaxe in the car.
17:41That's when I figured out this was going to turn bad.
17:50Okay, cool.
17:51I'll need to jump out.
17:52Joseph was asked to exit the vehicle and walks to the rear of his Honda Accord.
17:59It was immediately apparent Joseph Porter was the only occupant of the vehicle.
18:06What happened to Christina?
18:11After determining that Joseph was the only occupant of the vehicle, we had a lot more questions than answers.
18:18The trooper was able to get a good look at the trunk.
18:20He didn't see anything suspicious.
18:26The trooper invited Joseph back to his squad car to conduct an interview for his traffic stop.
18:33You ever been arrested for anything?
18:34Yes, sir.
18:35What for?
18:36I was arrested when I was 18 for secondary battery use of a deadly weapon.
18:44And I got arrested when I was 20 with another individual.
18:48For possession of a stolen vehicle.
18:51He seems very relaxed.
18:54The interaction was very conversational.
18:56There were no red flags to indicate that anything bad had just happened.
19:01Have a safe drive.
19:02You too.
19:03He never once mentioned Christina's name.
19:06It seemed as though he didn't want to speak her name because he had maybe a guilty conscience.
19:11Then they tell me that he was stopped in Missouri.
19:15I said, OK, great.
19:16But Christina wasn't there.
19:18I had Joseph Porter removed from NCIC as a missing person.
19:23And we began to focus on Joseph Porter as a person of interest in the disappearance of Christina Proden.
19:37Part of the investigation is Christina's cell phone.
19:41We had a continuous ping set up whereby should that device turn on, we would be notified.
19:50We've got a ping.
19:52On January 9th, we received information that her device turned back on.
19:57That was a pivotal moment in this investigation.
20:01I was very shocked.
20:02I didn't think that that phone would ever get turned back on.
20:05Of course, we were hoping that Christina was still alive.
20:08Have we got a location?
20:11It led to the area of a Walmart in Cabot, Arkansas.
20:18We had no additional leads on her whereabouts.
20:22And the fact that it was pinging in the area of a Walmart where we could get video surveillance,
20:28that was crucial to this investigation.
20:31Investigators in Edina secure the store surveillance footage.
20:35Investigators in Edina secure the store surveillance footage from the Walmart 800 miles away.
20:42Cue up half an hour before the ping.
20:51Is that glitch on the original footage?
20:55Okay, we can still ID from it.
20:57Play on.
20:59We're very hopeful that we can see Christina.
21:05Okay.
21:13Hold it.
21:15Go back.
21:24Who's that?
21:26The individual's wearing a dark top, a hat, and sunglasses,
21:29which seems unusual since he's inside of a business.
21:33Punch in.
21:35Okay.
21:41That's Joseph.
21:43Any sign of Christina?
21:52Unfortunately, she doesn't show up anywhere.
21:56Okay, where's Joseph going?
21:58Is there another camera?
22:05Okay.
22:14Joseph Porter can be seen walking up to the returns desk and returning an item.
22:27Where does he go next?
22:29Check the other cameras.
22:35Okay.
22:48That's him.
22:50Play that again.
22:58Who's that with him?
23:00Joseph was observed exiting Walmart with another male.
23:05Okay.
23:08So now we don't know if this is a co-conspirator,
23:11somebody that is aiding the offender after the fact,
23:14or a second suspect altogether.
23:17Follow them outside.
23:35That's not Joseph's car.
23:43Joseph and the second male can be seen in a silver sedan.
23:48This is not the black Honda Accord that Joseph drove down to Arkansas in.
23:54Any other cameras?
23:59Freeze it.
24:02Okay.
24:03Freeze it.
24:09It's a Pontiac.
24:11No plate.
24:13Unfortunately, due to the distance from the exterior surveillance camera to the vehicle,
24:17law enforcement was unable to get a license plate.
24:20What's the other male doing in the store?
24:24Show the entrance camera before Joseph entered?
24:33Okay.
24:41Stop.
24:46That's him.
24:49Can you follow him inside?
24:59Where's he gone?
25:00Have we got any cameras pointing that way?
25:03What's he up to?
25:05We need to find what's down that corridor.
25:12Detectives reach out to police in Cabot, Arkansas to go visit the store.
25:18The local jurisdiction followed up there and determined that inside was an eco-ATM.
25:25An eco-ATM is an automated pawn shop for electronic devices.
25:30A customer deposits their item into the kiosk and receives money in return.
25:36Part of the process for pawning the cell phone at one of these stations is to turn it on
25:42to ensure that it's working properly.
25:45And that's when we received the ping.
25:48Law enforcement discovered that the man with Joseph Porter sold three cell phones.
25:54They followed up with eco-ATM and obtained those devices.
25:59They called Christina's cell phone.
26:05And one of those three phones that was pawned began to ring.
26:13Investigators in Edina focus on identifying the man seen with Joseph
26:17in the Walmart surveillance footage.
26:20There's an urgency to do something.
26:21There's an urgency to find him and interview him
26:23to see what he knows about the whereabouts of Christina.
26:30We comb through Joseph's social media accounts.
26:34Come see this.
26:38There are lots of photos on Joseph's social media
26:41that appear to match the suspect that we saw with him in Walmart.
26:45That's a match.
26:48We were able to identify the male with Joseph Porter as Richard Crawford.
26:56Look at this.
26:59Joseph Porter is married to Richard Crawford.
27:02It was a shock.
27:04But it was important to try to locate him and hopefully find Joseph Porter.
27:08The last known address of Richard Crawford
27:10is a trailer park in Jacksonville, Arkansas.
27:14When the FBI executed the search warrant at the trailer,
27:18the silver Pontiac G6 was sitting out in front, partially covered with a tarp.
27:23The vehicle matches the car in the Walmart security footage.
27:28They learned that that Pontiac was stolen.
27:31They were able to track the car down.
27:33Now you have local charges to also arrest him on.
27:37Law enforcement knocked on the door and made contact with Richard Crawford.
27:45And discovered Joseph Porter was also in the same trailer.
27:49Both were taken into custody.
27:53Porter had extensive burns on his face.
27:56His head was shaved.
27:58He was shot in the head.
27:59He had extensive burns on his face.
28:02His head was shaved.
28:04And also had burns all over his hands.
28:07How did this happen?
28:08Why did this happen?
28:16Law enforcement didn't find Christina Proden inside that trailer.
28:20But they found a jewelry box with miscellaneous jewelry,
28:24pickaxe,
28:26and multiple gas cans.
28:27During the search of the silver Pontiac G6,
28:31law enforcement discovered keys.
28:35Those keys were subsequently determined to belong to Christina Proden.
28:44FBI agents in Arkansas interviewed Joseph Porter at the police department.
28:50Tell me what happened to your hands.
28:52I was out in the woods.
28:54I was out in the woods.
28:57I fell asleep next to my campfire.
29:00I don't know if I rolled into it.
29:02I fell asleep standing,
29:05sitting next to it.
29:08Joseph Porter maintained burns on his face and his hands
29:11was a result of rolling into the campfire he was sleeping next to.
29:16Where's Christina now?
29:19She's in Minnesota.
29:21We're just trying to find her.
29:24I understand that and I've told you the only two places I know where she's
29:28either at, her mom's or her house, and she's not either one.
29:32It was clear from that interview that Joseph Porter
29:34did not care about Christina Proden.
29:37Agents questioned Richard Crawford in a neighboring interview room.
29:42We haven't ruled out the possibility at that point that Christina was alive.
29:46However, there were lots of indicators that would suggest that she was not.
29:50So agents turned up the pressure on Crawford.
29:52What if I told you that you were going to be charged with an accessory
29:56for not disclosing information?
29:58That you sat here and that poor girl's dead.
30:01And her mom was missing her.
30:03Who is that?
30:05And you've got something to do with it because he talked to you about it.
30:09Wow.
30:10What would you say to her mama if you could say,
30:12I knew something and I didn't help?
30:14If I knew something and I didn't help,
30:16I'd be feeling pretty bad.
30:17This was enough to get Richard Crawford
30:20to change his story and tell the truth about
30:23what Joseph Porter had told him.
30:25He told me that she was dead before she left.
30:29So he told you he killed her?
30:31Yes.
30:32He didn't tell you how?
30:34He didn't tell me how he killed her.
30:35He told me that he burned her.
30:37And it was in a C-train or something.
30:39In a what?
30:40In a C-train.
30:41What's a C-train?
30:43It's like a metal container.
30:44Like one of them shipping containers
30:46that they haul on trains and cargo ships.
30:48Yeah.
30:49Where did he say he did that?
30:50He said Louisiana.
30:52Agents were able to convince him
30:54to come clean on the information that he had,
30:56indicating that Porter had confessed to him
30:58that he killed Christina and burned her body in Louisiana.
31:01That information from Crawford
31:03was critical to the investigation.
31:07Agents confront Porter
31:09when he tells them that he killed Christina
31:11and burned her body in Louisiana.
31:12Agents confront Porter with Crawford's statement.
31:15He stood up like a man
31:17and he told the truth,
31:19just like we want you to do.
31:21Now you're f****** wasting everybody's time.
31:24I just f****** told you everything
31:26and you don't get that.
31:28Quit wasting my f****** time
31:30and take me back to that f****** building still.
31:32He still maintained that he had nothing to do
31:34with Christina's disappearance
31:36but we believed she was dead
31:38and started a homicide investigation.
31:39It's very important in a homicide
31:41to find the body.
31:43If you don't have a body,
31:45it's very difficult to prove a murder.
31:55Detective Moore.
31:57The FBI informed me
31:59that there was a fire in New Orleans
32:01that seemed to match
32:03the description provided by Richard Crawford.
32:05Back in the storage container.
32:07The New Orleans Police Department
32:09responded to a suspicious fire
32:11on January 6th
32:13at approximately 9.30 p.m.
32:15in a shipping container.
32:18Not far from the shipping container
32:20Joseph's black Honda Accord
32:22was later located
32:24stripped of its license plates.
32:26A short distance from the burn site
32:28was the business
32:30where the Pontiac G6
32:32was stolen from.
32:34Everything seemed to be connected.
32:35During a search
32:37on Joseph Porter's 1995 Honda
32:39two receipts were located.
32:41One for Home Depot
32:43and a second for AutoZone.
32:46Law enforcement obtained
32:48video surveillance
32:50from a Home Depot
32:52in Belton, Missouri.
32:58Joseph Porter
33:00is observed on video
33:02buying a pickaxe
33:03and a shovel.
33:13The other video was from AutoZone
33:15in Baton Rouge
33:17where Joseph Porter
33:19was observed getting gas
33:21and putting it in a red gas can.
33:23At that time
33:25he was in the Silver Pontiac Grand Prix.
33:27In the back of the shipping container
33:29the New Orleans Police Department
33:31discovered a burned up body.
33:33They really wanted it to burn.
33:35They need a burnt man.
33:37Can you tell us if it's male or female?
33:39It's a small corpse
33:41well, chemical remains
33:43so it's possibly male.
33:52I requested a DNA sample
33:54from the body
33:56that was recovered
33:58from the shipping container.
34:00And we retrieved dental records
34:01from the dental office locally
34:03both confirmed that the body
34:05was indeed Christina Porter.
34:09DNA from the handprints
34:11and blood that was recovered
34:13from Christina's master bedroom
34:15in her apartment
34:17was also confirmed
34:19to belong to Christina.
34:23Detective Moore and I
34:25went to the apartment
34:27of Livia
34:28to tell her in person
34:29what we believe happened
34:31to her daughter.
34:33Throughout a career in law enforcement
34:35you tend to give
34:37many death notifications
34:39each of them tragic.
34:41This one stood out to me
34:43as one of the hardest
34:45that I've had to do.
34:51Investigators called
34:53Joseph's mom, Harley
34:55to tell her that her son
34:57is suspected of murdering Christina.
34:59I don't think I screamed
35:01loud enough.
35:03I don't think I cried
35:05hard enough.
35:08I want my son
35:10to pay for what he did.
35:15Eleven weeks after his arrest
35:17officers interrogate
35:19Joseph Porter again
35:21about Christina's death.
35:23I think he came to the
35:25realization that he wasn't
35:27going to be able to
35:28prove his innocence.
35:30He claimed that
35:32he returned to the condo
35:34and an argument
35:36between he and Christina started.
35:38She kept hitting me
35:40by the wayhead.
35:45I started punching her.
35:48I wrapped
35:50my f****** arm
35:52around her throat.
35:56All I wanted to do
35:58was render her unconscious.
36:01She put her to sleep.
36:03I felt her body.
36:10I felt her body go limp.
36:15She wasn't moving.
36:17She wasn't breathing.
36:19Nothing.
36:23And I panicked.
36:25Porter admitted to
36:26killing Christina.
36:28He claimed that
36:29he tried to do CPR
36:31and realized that
36:32she was dead.
36:34But it didn't explain
36:35the handprints
36:36in blood on the carpet.
36:38I didn't know what to do.
36:41So I emptied out
36:42the red suitcase.
36:44I emptied out
36:45a charcoal gray one.
36:48I put my sleeping bag
36:49in the gray one.
36:51I put her in the
36:52red suitcase.
36:54I took them both
36:55to my car.
36:56Put them in the back seat.
37:05We started driving.
37:08Instead of trying to
37:09call 911
37:11to get her any assistance
37:13Joseph decides to
37:15put her in a suitcase
37:16and ends up in Louisiana.
37:18I talked to her
37:19like she was alive.
37:22Told her I was sorry.
37:23Please forgive me.
37:25I asked her
37:26if she would be alright
37:27being cremated.
37:30Seeing somebody's face
37:33so peaceful.
37:38Not in life.
37:39Not in sleep.
37:42There is something
37:43so tranquil
37:44and peaceful
37:46about her face
37:47when I looked at it.
37:49Porter described
37:50looking at Christina's face
37:51after she had been
37:52killed as looking peaceful.
37:55This is
37:56absolutely disgusting
37:57to me.
37:59Following the interview
38:00of Joseph Porter
38:01in Arkansas
38:02the Hennepin County
38:03Attorney's Office
38:04in Minnesota
38:05charged Joseph Porter
38:06with second degree murder.
38:08Richard Crawford
38:09had no knowledge
38:10of the murder
38:11until Joseph told him.
38:13He was uninvolved
38:14in the theft
38:15of the Pontiac
38:16and he did not knowingly
38:17sell stolen phones.
38:19Crawford is charged
38:20with no crimes.
38:22On January 15th
38:232019
38:24Joseph Porter
38:25pled guilty
38:26to second degree
38:27unintentional homicide
38:29and was sentenced
38:30to 20 years.
38:32It feels good
38:33knowing that
38:34Joseph Porter
38:35can't hurt anyone else.
38:37That's not my son.
38:39No.
38:42I am
38:44I'm done.
38:45I'm done.
38:47Though I have
38:48absolutely
38:49no words
38:50for him.
38:52My opinion
38:53of this case
38:54is that
38:55he had come back
38:56to the condo
38:57in the early
38:58morning hours
38:59of January 4th
39:00and at some point
39:01an argument ensued.
39:03Christina likely
39:04told him
39:05that I'm gonna
39:06call the police.
39:08He was already
39:09on probation.
39:10He wanted Christina
39:11to not
39:12call the police.
39:14Things escalated
39:15to the point
39:16that he killed her.
39:18After Joseph
39:19killed Christina
39:20he placed her body
39:21in the suitcase
39:22and flees the state.
39:26In the video
39:27footage
39:28from
39:29Missouri
39:30the state trooper
39:31had illuminated
39:32the interior
39:33of the vehicle
39:34and you can see
39:35both pieces of luggage
39:36sitting upright
39:37in the back seat.
39:39We believe
39:40that's where
39:41Christina's body was.
39:44Joseph Porter
39:45drove to
39:46New Orleans,
39:47Louisiana.
39:48He tried to bury
39:49her but the
39:50ground was so hard
39:51and he was so tired
39:52that he was unable
39:53to bury her.
39:55So he put her
39:56in the shipping container
39:57and lit her on fire.
39:59He then stole
40:00the vehicle
40:01from a nearby business
40:02and retreated
40:03to Arkansas
40:05to the trailer park
40:06where his husband lives.
40:08The video
40:09surveillance played
40:10an integral part
40:11in the investigation.
40:13It shows
40:14Joseph leaving
40:15the state
40:16and being pulled
40:17over in Missouri
40:19without Christina.
40:21It shows him
40:22later with Crawford
40:23when he was disposing
40:24of some evidence
40:25by getting
40:26rid of her cell phone.
40:28It proved
40:29that he was in
40:30Louisiana
40:31where she was found.
40:32It also proved
40:33that he purchased
40:34the pickaxe
40:35and shovel
40:36that were found.
40:40Christina died
40:43and my son
40:44killed her.
40:46When they sentenced
40:47him to the 20 years
40:48I really threw a fit.
40:50I finally got a hold
40:51of the prosecutor.
40:53He goes,
40:54what were you expecting?
40:55I said,
40:56life without parole.
40:58Twenty years
40:59is not enough.
41:01Where I need
41:02a fix
41:03from Christina
41:05I just look over
41:06the photos
41:07that she sent me
41:08and it's not very often
41:09you meet
41:10somebody
41:12that can be
41:13this
41:14elegant.
41:16She touched
41:17my life
41:19and changed
41:21my life.
41:24This was
41:25an outstanding
41:26young lady.
