วันที่ 17 ตุลาคม 2567 New York Times รายงานว่า Liam Paynes (เลียม เพย์น) นักร้องและนักแต่งเพลงชื่อดังจากวง One Direction วงบอยแบนด์อังกฤษชื่อดัง เสียชีวิตหลังจากตกลงมาจากชั้น 3 ของโรงแรมในกรุงบัวโนสไอเรส ประเทศอาร์เจนตินา ทำให้เลียม เพย์น เสียชีวิตในวัย 31 ปี ก่อนหน้าที่จะเสียชีวิต เลียม เพย์น ได้ไปที่อาร์เจนติน่า เพื่อร่วมงานคอนเสิร์ตของ ไนออล ฮอแรน อดีตเพื่อนสมาชิกวง One Direction และก่อนที่จะเสียชีวิตไม่กี่ชั่วโมง เลียมก็ได้โพสต์คลิปสั้นใน snapchat เป็นคลิปของเขากับ Kate Cassidy แฟนสาว และบอกว่าวันนี้เป็นวันดี ๆ ในอาร์เจนตินา "เรานอนยาวกันจนถึงเที่ยง เรานี่มันพวกขี้แพ้จริง ๆ"
