00:02Once upon a time, in a sunny little farmyard, there lived a little red hen.

00:06She was hard-working and always busy.

00:09One day, while scratching in the dirt, she found some grains of wheat.

00:13Excitedly, she thought, this would be perfect for baking bread.

00:17But first, I need to plant these grains.

00:20She called out to her friends, the lazy dog, the sleepy cat, and the noisy duck.

00:26Who will help me plant the wheat? she asked.

00:29Not I, said the dog, stretching lazily. I'm too tired.

00:33Not I, said the cat, yawning. I want to take a nap.

00:37Not I, quacked the duck, flapping its wings. I'm busy swimming.

00:41The little red hen shook her head and said, then I will do it myself.

00:45So she planted the grains all by herself.

00:47She watered them, watched them grow, and soon she had a beautiful crop of golden wheat.

00:53When the wheat was ready to be harvested, she called her friends again.

00:57Who will help me cut the wheat? she asked.

01:00Not I, said the dog, lying in the shade. It's too hot.

01:05Not I, said the cat, licking its paws. I'm too busy grooming myself.

01:10Not I, quacked the duck, waddling away. I want to play in the pond.

01:15Again, the little red hen sighed and said, then I will do it myself.

01:20And she cut the wheat all by herself.

01:22She gathered it up and took it to the miller to have it ground into flour.

01:26When the flour was ready, she called her friends once more.

01:29Who will help me make the bread? she asked.

01:33Not I, said the dog, now yawning. I'm too full from my last meal.

01:38Not I, said the cat, now curling up to sleep. I'm not interested.

01:43Not I, quacked the duck, busy chasing flies. I'm too busy having fun.

01:49The little red hen frowned but remained determined. Then I will do it myself.

01:54So she baked the bread all by herself, and the delicious smell filled the air.

02:00Finally the bread was ready, golden and crusty.

02:04The little red hen called her friends one last time.

02:07Who will help me eat the bread?

02:10I will, said the dog, suddenly awake.

02:13I will, said the cat, jumping up eagerly.

02:16I will, quacked the duck, waddling over with excitement.

02:20The little red hen smiled and said,

02:22No, you will not, because you didn't help me plant the wheat, cut it or bake the bread.

02:27I will eat this bread all by myself.

02:30And so she did.

02:31The little red hen enjoyed her delicious bread while her friends watched,

02:35hungry but regretful for not helping her along the way.

02:38From that day forward, the dog, the cat and the duck learned a valuable lesson about hard work and teamwork.

02:45They promised to help the little red hen in the future.

02:48And the moral of the story is, you must help to enjoy the rewards.
