00:00I am a part of one of the films. So, I can't say that.
00:03I will definitely make mistakes in other people's films.
00:06Today, I blame political scenario for the basic things what are going wrong in our country.
00:11From communal riots to everything.
00:13We have not done wrong to anybody or wronged anybody that someone else started first and then we started.
00:18We haven't done that either.
00:19So, we are being fair. Rest is, we'll see.
00:22There are a lot of preparations going on for the movie. Everyone has done a lot of research work.
00:30You tell us about your character's research.
00:33My research is the same. Rajji and these people have done a lot of research work for 3 years.
00:39Met a lot of people. Involved a lot of writers.
00:44Met their brother who was also in our panel.
00:49They did so much research that I was given all the material.
00:53I had to just talk to people and spoke to Kultar Singh ji.
00:57Went through the books, the notes, discussions and things like this and everything was very clear.
01:03If we talk about the character, how much will you see Bhagat Singh's character resembling you in this film?
01:09It has nothing to do with resemble.
01:13It is more to do that have you justified the character as in performance.
01:18We have tried our best and after that the audience has to decide how much.
01:24Ajay, how much has the role inspired you?
01:27Oh, it really did. I think he was one of the heroes who has really inspired me.
01:36Not because we made a film on him but he was a character who never got his due as in where history is concerned.
01:44Because people did not speak about him. It was not written in schools.
01:48We didn't study much about him in schools except for what he did basic.
01:53But why he did, what he did and what he foresaw for the country, nobody spoke about it.
02:00I think if they would have done that or if he was alive after independence, our country would be totally different.
02:10Bhagat Singh had a really strong personality. So, what do you think about him?
02:14If he would have been alive in today's time, how much would have changed?
02:18That's why I am telling you, if he would have been there after independence, the whole political scenario would have changed.
02:25And today I blame political scenario for the basic things that are going wrong in our country.
02:32From communal riots to everything.
02:35You have done so much research and read his theories.
02:38So, what do you think, why Bhagat Singh's personality didn't get the right importance?
02:46I think because he was not part of any party.
02:52He was not part of any party and after we got freedom also, he was not a part of the ruling party then.
03:03So, I think he was suppressed.
03:04Ajay, tell us something about your co-stars. How was the experience of working with them?
03:10I think all of them are very good actors.
03:13And their casting was such that most of their faces are 80-90% similar to the original characters.
03:21And their fresh faces, they have done so well.
03:24And we are happy that instead of known faces, we have gone for such people. Very good actors.
03:30Tell us something about the movie's songs.
03:32See, songs are very nice in the film. They are all situational.
03:35And because these characters used to sing themselves.
03:40And they used to sing all the time.
03:42So, we have those situations and they sing. And the music is very good.
03:46Now, 4-5 films are coming on the same leader.
03:49But all the producers and actors have worked equally hard.
03:52So, what do you think, which film does the audience like to watch more?
03:56Yes, that's right. Everyone has worked hard. Everyone has shown their honesty.
03:59Now, the audience will decide that whose film has more research work, whose film is more honest,
04:04whose film is closer to the character.
04:06And then the public will watch that film.
04:09If you were the audience, would you go to the theatres to watch all 4 films?
04:14See, I am not audience. So, I don't know. Because I am a part of one of the films.
04:18So, I can't say that.
04:20I will definitely make mistakes in other people's films.
04:23But I don't know. That our audience has to decide that.
04:26And I feel that whatever happens in the beginning, I think eventually the film which is good will go on.
04:31Yes, the release date is also near.
04:33Yes, the audience will decide on its own. Why should we work hard to decide?
04:37But honestly, you have worked so hard. So, you should get appreciation, right?
04:41Yeah, but that is part of the game.
04:43You have worked hard. You will get your appreciation. That's fine.
04:46But eventually, box office is also important.
04:49So, the audience will definitely decide. That's what we are saying.
04:54For the first time, 3-4 films are coming together on a historical basis.
04:58So, what would you like to say about the upcoming clashes?
05:04See, we are…
05:06I really don't know why, what people are doing.
05:09But this was planned 3 years ago.
05:11And we didn't compete with anyone.
05:15We started it first.
05:19So, we have not done wrong to anybody or wronged anybody.
05:22That someone else started it first and then we started it.
05:24We didn't do that.
05:25So, we are being fair. Rest is, we will see.
05:28Are you facing any competition to finish the shoot?
05:31No, no. We started it first. We are finishing it on our time.
05:34When we decided to finish it.
05:36And we are finishing it when the release was decided.
05:39You have to finish the entire shoot in 3 months.
05:42So, what do you think? How will it happen?
05:44Why? We shoot so many films.
05:45I have done this with Major sir earlier.
05:4740 days in Pune and I have finished.
05:49So, there are many films where you have to maintain the authenticity.
05:54You have to maintain that period era.
05:56So, you have to make it in one stretch.
05:59So, that's what we are doing.
06:00Okay. How much did Bhagat Singh's brother Kultar Singh help you to play this role better?
06:06He was on our advisory panel.
06:08And he told us exactly how he used to behave.
06:12What he liked.
06:13When he met him, how he was.
06:16How he used to sing.
06:18So, he was a part of scripting.
06:20And which helped us a lot.
06:22Because of the authenticity.
06:24You were telling something about his favourite sweet.
06:27Yes. He used to order rasgullas in jail.
06:31He used to order rasgullas in court too.
06:33When he was going towards the gallows, the last meal he had was rasgullas.
06:37What would you like to say about the character, Ajay?
06:40I just told you what he foresaw.
06:44I think we have spoken about him.
06:46You have spoken so much about him.
06:48I swear. I don't know. I am confused where I have spoken what.
06:51Alright. Thank you for your time, Ajay.
