Portraying a young Donald Trump in the new film ‘The Apprentice’, Sebastian Stan is surprised it took the former President so long to speak out against them.
Speaking from the BFI London Film Festival screening, he was joined by his co-stars Jeremy Strong, Maria Bakalova and director Ali Abbasi.
‘The Apprentice’ is in cinemas in the UK from Friday 18th October. Report by Burtonj. Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/itn and follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/itn

00:00Hello Sebastian, thank you for your time. I don't know if, like me, you felt it was inevitable that Trump would have something to say quite publicly about this film.
00:08Yeah, I'm surprised it took him that long.
00:10Honestly, same. What was your reaction when you heard it? And I know you're not on social media, but what would your social media reply would have been to him?
00:16Well, from my point of view, he just keeps digging himself into a bigger hole. It's disappointing. I think it's also unsettling how easily he can toss around such terrible words.
00:36But it's also very predictable. I mean, he's so negative and just continues to want to divide people because that's when he feels he has any relevance.
00:47In fact, he's been quoted to say that he'll wait for bad times, and when bad times come, then he'll do his part.
00:56And frankly, I'm pretty tired of bad times. I'm pretty tired of negativity. And I'm pretty tired of him shitting on the country.
01:03Well, the thing is that it's so technical, and it's obviously when you're trying to play a real person, you want to get their tics, their mannerisms, their way of speaking, and it's not natural.
01:17And you just have to kind of practice it very much like you're learning an instrument every day more and more, and then eventually you can do it in your sleep.
01:26So I kind of liken it to a relationship. Do you ever hear when you break up with somebody, they say, how long have you been in the relationship?
01:34And you're like, two years. They're like, it's going to take two years to get over it.
