00:00Reports have come in that the Football Association are in talks with German manager Thomas Tuchel
00:06to become the new full-time England boss. Tuchel, who was most recently at Bayern Munich,
00:12notably won the Champions League with English club Chelsea in 2021. Tuchel would replace
00:18Gareth Southgate, who guided the Three Lions to two European Championship finals, as well
00:23as a semi-final and quarter-final of a World Cup during his time in charge, but ultimately
00:28just missed out on getting England over the line in a major tournament. The hope from
00:33the FA would be that Tuchel, who is regarded as a specialist in modern tournament football,
00:38could be the one who can take England over the line and end the years of hurt. Should
00:42he be appointed, he would become only England's third ever foreign manager, after the late
00:48Swedes Fengorin Eriksson and Italian Fabio Capello. Many would hope that with the current
00:53cup of players, Tuchel could be the right fit.
