KL nursery pupils climb on tables to escape floodwaters

On Tuesday (Oct 15), 21 pupils from the Community Development Department (Kemas) nursery along Jalan Hulu Klang, 8th mile, Kuala Lumpur had to climb up on tables when their classroom was hit by flash floods.

Swift action by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department successfully saved the pupils.

00:00When flash floods hit, the need to escape the incoming flow of water is of the utmost
00:07urgency. On Tuesday, 21 pupils at a Kuala Lumpur nursery had to climb up on tables when
00:13their classroom was hit by flash floods. Swift action by the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department
00:20successfully saved the pupils from the Community Development Department, or Kemas Nursery,
00:25along Jalan Hulu Klang, eighth mile, Kuala Lumpur. A team from the Ampang Fire and Rescue
00:31Station was dispatched to the scene and, upon arrival, it was found that four houses and
00:37a Kemas nursery were affected by the flooding. The residents were instructed to move to the
00:43community hall while the pupils were handed over to their respective parents. It is learnt
00:49that the water level has decreased.
