00:00Professor Antonio Contreras will now tell us what are the possible reasons for the rise in the number of people who claim to be pro-Marcos, from a point of view, Professor.

00:10Thank you very much, Bayan, and good morning.

00:17We can already see here in the survey conducted by OCTA Research.

00:21According to the mass survey conducted from August 28 to September 2, only 2% of supporters of President Marcos and his administration.

00:36This is a clear continuation of his rise since the first surveys.

00:43Now, 38% has increased by 2%.

00:47If we look at the statistics within the margin of error, it is based on the linear trend, it is increasing.

00:54We can also see that the support for the Duterte family is decreasing, which is now only at 15%.

01:04Even though it is only 1% lower in the last survey, we can also see in the trend that it is continuously decreasing.

01:11Meanwhile, the support for the opposition is increasing by 2% compared to the last survey.

01:17And this is a clear rise in the trend.

01:20In those three camps, the support for President Marcos and the opposition is clearly increasing and decreasing for the Duterte family.

01:28Our explanation is simple.

01:30It is clear that the Duterte family and their allies are really being harmed

01:37by the various allegations and accusations that are now coming out in the hearings of the Congress.

01:44And it also does not help those who see what is being said until the former President or Vice President

01:52relative to certain events like the arrest of Pastor Apollo Q. Buloy.

01:57And maybe their clear support for China is also helping them.

02:05According to the perspective of the people, because we saw in the survey of False Asia

02:10that China's support for our country is really low.

02:14So it is clear that this is showing that the positions of the Duterte family are not popular.

02:23But if we look at it, the most important thing that we should pay attention to

02:27and I want to emphasize is that those who said that they have high support for the administration of President Marcos

02:34or for the opposition or for the Duterte family, only 60% of the answers in the survey.

02:4140% said that there is no answer or that they are independent.

02:45In fact, 26% said that they are independent, that they have no allies.

02:51And 14% said that they don't know or that's why there is no answer.

02:54This is a big percentage because it means that 4 out of 10 Filipinos can still change their mind

03:00or that's why they are undecided.

03:04So those who say that maybe there are many who will win for Marcos

03:10or that's why there is no hope for the Duterte family,

03:13let's be careful with that conclusion because there are 40% out there

03:18who are independent and can sway the result of the election.

03:21If this trend continues, however, the number of independents will decrease

03:26because compared to the last survey, it went down by 5%.

03:30And I think it's out of the margin.

03:33So those who became independent are really going down.

03:36And that's natural because as the election approaches,

03:39people are starting to make decisions because the number of independents is decreasing.

03:45It's in the middle, it doesn't matter which camp it is.

03:48And there are others who are already making decisions

03:54because 40% came from the independents or those who are still undecided.

03:59The independents are different from those who are still undecided.

04:02The independents, you really chose them because you have no allies.

04:05That's the 26%.

04:07The 14% are the ones who say that they still have no choice.

04:15So that's a big percentage, 40%.

04:18It can make or break a camp.

04:21Even now, it's clear that the support for the administration is still increasing.

04:27And this is a clear indication that people like what President Marcos is doing.

04:32And it's also clear that the support for the Duterte family is decreasing.

04:36And it's clear that they should look like they're doing something that the people don't like.
