00:34Welcome back everyone, it's Charlie.
00:36Marvel released Deadpool and Wolverine on home video, so there's a whole bunch more
00:39deleted scenes, Easter eggs, and things that we didn't spot in the theatrical cut of the
00:44movie.
00:45So we'll break it all down.
00:46Not only did they release a bunch of these scenes, they also talk about a bunch of more
00:49scenes during the actual commentary for the movie.
00:52So I went through the commentary and also pulled a lot of that stuff for the video.

01:00they did just release on home video will give away a couple copies, but as you watch a lot
01:04of these deleted scenes are talking about a lot of the different variants characters
01:07people were asking where was blades sword.
01:10If you look in the background here you can actually get a much better HD shiny shot of
01:15the walls of the inside of their base, which is meant to be the Darkhold temple from multiverse
01:19of madness, which is why Scarlet witch's statue was on the ceiling because that was there
01:23inside the Darkhold temple.
01:25Notice here all these weapons are blades different weapons and you can actually see his sword
01:31from the original blade movies on the wall.
01:33He just wasn't using it during the actual final battle probably because they didn't
01:36want him using his sword in Deadpool using his swords at the same time to they just want
01:40to give him a different weapon so that look a little bit different on screen, but he still
01:44has his iconic sword in there a bunch of other Easter eggs in these weapons to this is meant
01:50to be the Excalibur sword from the eternals movie, but from another universe pruned to
01:54this universe.
01:56This was like a version of the sword of might which actually belongs to Captain Britain
01:59from the comics which would be from some universe.
02:02They didn't say which universe it came from just that it came from another universe and
02:05it was pruned to here that probably has something to do with all the rumors about Henry Cavill
02:10secretly playing a version of Captain Britain in future Marvel productions which they then
02:15also paid off by bringing back is the Calvary and instead which nobody expected Henry Cavill
02:21himself did comment on the Captain Britain rumors a long time ago like well I am British
02:26and I do love the Marvel movies.
02:28So is probably them just poking fun at that.
02:30If you look here you can actually see stripes helmet from the comics.
02:35So if you're not familiar with strife strife is meant to be an alternate future clone of
02:39cable created by apocalypse they kind of got into the story where strife is created during
02:44X-Men 97 season one in the animation series.
02:47I don't know if they're planning on doing strife during X-Men 97 season two because
02:51supposedly tune some of the plot for season two and season three, but he winds up being
02:55an evil clone that they have to face basically with the same types of powers as cable.
03:00It sounds like at some point they thought about using him is an alternate villain movie
03:04probably not the alternate main villain, but they did say that a lot of the background
03:08variants in the main characters change just because there were so many different ones
03:12that they considered while they were making the movie already talked about how they thought
03:15about using a version of Magneto Nicholas Cage's ghostwriter one of the Quicksilvers
03:20like Aaron Taylor Johnson Quicksilver or Evan Peters Quicksilver Ben Affleck's daredevil
03:24Cyclops storm beast pretty much any of the other main X-Men characters or characters
03:29from the backgrounds of any of those Fox Marvel movies were fair game for a while they even
03:34tried to get a version of Danny DeVito Wolverine at first they pitched to the studio, but it
03:39was a bit of a no go, especially once Hugh Jackman Wolverine came on Ryan Reynolds also
03:43revealed that right after avengers endgame came out back in 2019 the Fox Disney deal
03:49finished legally.
03:50So they can start developing movies based on some of the X-Men Fox Marvel characters
03:55he started pitching Kevin Feige on what would become Deadpool and Wolverine, but one of
04:00his first pitches was a Deadpool and Wolverine movie back in 2019 and at that time Kevin
04:06Feige told him that it was a nonstarter meaning that he shouldn't try to put Wolverine in
04:10a movie because he had just died during the Logan movie in 2017 a couple years earlier
04:15so that is the back in 2019 everybody at Marvel felt like it was way too soon and at that
04:20time Hugh Jackman still felt like he was retired and did not want to come back that didn't
04:25change till a couple years later Ryan Reynolds revealed he pitched Kevin Feige 20 plus different
04:30versions of the movie some of them super low budget some of them way crazier we actually
04:35heard about some of them because there were a couple versions without Hugh Jackman's Wolverine
04:39because they actually started developing the movie they hired writers before Hugh Jackman
04:43had signed on to do the actual movie and in one of the early versions of the movie.
04:48This was still when Jonathan Majors was playing Kang they were planning on doing Avengers
04:51five as a version of Kang dynasty and secret wars was going to be based more on the Kang
04:56plot to within the larger multiverse the council of Kang's was going to be acting a little
05:01bit more like the beyonders going around destroying universes in the reason why a lot of the variants
05:05wound up pruned on the void because the TVA had basically turned good and stopped pruning
05:11a lot of variants after Loki season two was because of the council of Kang's they were
05:15trying to save people from these universes were being destroyed.
05:18So that's how they wound up on the void in that version of the movie in that version
05:22of the movie was going to be a more direct setup for Avengers secret wars with all the
05:27different variants of the multiverse Avengers team with the void being more like a setup
05:31for battle world from secret wars Ryan Reynolds actually said that he fought with Kevin Feige
05:36like not literally fight, but he actually push back on Marvel trying to make it more
05:41of an MCU movie tied to a bunch of other movies the way he called it a commercial for other
05:46movies like make your movie a commercial for other movies in what he wanted to do was make
05:50more of a love letter to the classic X-Men Fox movies.
05:55So that's why in the movie you only see some light MCU references in jokes, but really
06:00it's more about the Fox X-Men characters in those variants.
06:03There's only one scene that Kevin Feige asked Ryan Reynolds to change in the movie and it
06:07was for an Iron Man reference at the end of the film when he confronts paradox and they
06:12act like they're going to kill him until he tells them what's going on with Cassandra
06:15Nova in the time report and how to destroy it immortal words of Anthony Alejandro Stark
06:20Anthony Penelope Stark Anthony Soprano Stark Anthony Ingrid Sharp Anthony Edwards from
06:29ER Ryan Reynolds implies the reason why Kevin Feige wanted them to take it out is because
06:34he felt like it was too much friendly fire quote unquote.
06:37I don't know if I necessarily agree with that, but I do think the Batman joke that they replaced
06:41it with is just as funny if not funnier.
06:43So it gets way more meta because you're referencing DC movies in a Marvel movie which they did
06:48during Deadpool 2 yes, it would've been cool to have some more Iron Man stuff in the movie,
06:53but I understand why they took it out also probably the reason why Kevin Feige didn't
06:56want too much Iron Man too many Iron Man references in the movie just in general is
07:00because they were doing so much with him during Avengers 5 doomsday as this new version of
07:05Doctor Doom I already talked about the scene with Happy Hogan.
07:08He actually said there were a couple other versions of this scene, not just the versions
07:12with Iron Man himself being in here trying to interview Deadpool for spot on the Avengers
07:17with them wisecracking back and forth, but for a while they were actually gonna have
07:21Nick Fury here interviewing Deadpool for spot on the Avengers.
07:26We haven't really seen Samuel L. Jackson in any the Marvel production since secret invasion.
07:30So we'll see what they do with him during Avengers 5 and Avengers 6 there a bunch more
07:34deleted scenes that they release there's a scene of paradox being taken to task by hunter
07:38B-15 before the events of the movie pick up like before he captures Deadpool in the plot
07:43actually starts what's happened since the end of Loki season 2 is that hunter B-15 is
07:48in more of a managerial position and she's managing paradox which they explain is like
07:52a completely separate division inside the TVA which is why everything looks different
07:57from what it looked like during Loki season 2 if you remember the cityscape they showed
08:01of the actual TV like the wider TVA is a huge huge facility.
08:06So this is just meant to be like a vastly different place that we never visited during
08:09Loki season 1 or Loki season 2 in the idea the scene is that hunter B-15 is upset with
08:15him because his requisition too many assets for what his job is supposed to be basically
08:20watching universes slowly decay over time.
08:24Remember after Loki season 2 they essentially stopped pruning most variants like the most
08:29dangerous variants.
08:30They mostly change the TVA to the KVA the Kang variants authority, but as paradox explained
08:36to Deadpool.
08:37He didn't want to just sit around thousands of years watching universes decay.
08:41He wanted to get rid of them way faster thus the time ripper and the plot of the movie
08:46there's the scene of Peter saying goodbye to hunter B-15 making it seem like they actually
08:50went on a little date while they were busy picking up all the variants in the void because
08:54this is thank you for helping with the quote unquote Laura thing which is them basically
08:58bringing X-23 to their X-Men universe which is how she wound up at their pizza version
09:03of the shawarma scene.
09:05They kiss imply that they might have some continuing relationship because Peter goes
09:08into his apartment not Deadpool's apartment, but Peters apartment in the Deadpool costume
09:13saying that daddy's in love and you see kid pool and head pool imply that he's going to
09:18be raising kid pool and head pool as his own children now.
09:22Ryan Reynolds said that his children are actually all over the movie in a couple different places.
09:26So one of his daughters played kid pool.
09:29He actually said that he had to make her say all these crazy lines to him during the Deadpool
09:33core fight many different times in many different versions of the jokes his new baby son Olin
09:39plays the voice of baby pool even though baby pool is largely a combination of CG and
09:43practical effects is just like the giggles from his baby and when Cassandra Nova takes
09:47Wolverine into his mind and you see the tombs of the dead X-Men from his team you actually
09:53hear their dying cries as they're being killed like he's remembering what their cries sounded
09:57like there's a bunch of children's cries in there to because are a bunch of children at
10:00the X-Mansion that got killed Ryan Reynolds said that a lot of those cries are the cries
10:05of his own children that just did voiceover for that scene in addition to a bunch of other
10:09kids to one of his other daughters Betty was actually credited in the end credits here
10:13as Hugh Jackman's Wrangler is a bunch of deleted scenes of Chris Evans in this end credit scene.
10:19He actually explains why he wrote it this way.
10:21He says the actually wrote it is a trick to try and get Chris Evans excited about coming
10:25back as his version of Johnny Storm just because he didn't really get to do a lot of foul malice
10:30stuff as his version of Captain America in the MCU Chris Evans condition for coming back
10:34was that the scene wound up in the actual end credits like he couldn't take it out and
10:39as you can see from the deleted scenes he actually did the entire rant in a single take
10:44you just had to do it a couple times because he messed up because it was so crazy and so
10:48rapid-fire he probably had more dialogue from these rants than he did in an entire Captain
10:54America movie Ryan Reynolds also release this longer version of the gambit and credit scene
10:58you can see in the background the TVA when they're actually doing the scene of Chris
11:02Evans in his rant lot of people asking how to gambit get saved who saved him because
11:08it looks like there's a sling ring portal opening up inside his eyes not a TVA portal.
11:14So it's not the TVA who saving him and which universe is he going to the biggest possibilities
11:19would be Doctor strange Wong somebody else that has a sling ring or like Deadpool himself
11:24who got a hold of Cassandra Nova sling ring that she used to open the portal between universes
11:29back to his X-Men universe personally if you're talking about just the way they play
11:33things in the movie.
11:34It would make most sense if it were Deadpool saving gambit like you know what will save
11:38you to you can come to I think to also pay off the joke that had gambit actually got
11:42a chance to make his movie like in real life.
11:45He made his movie that he would have been from that original X-Men universe that Deadpool
11:50is from with the other X-Men characters Shawn Levy the director of the movie also said that
11:55at one point he was up for directing that gambit movie, but didn't get the job for whatever
12:00reason he didn't explain why he didn't get the job, but it is a that he was one of the
12:03directors that was in the mix for a long time like he met with Channing Tatum when they
12:07were still planning on making it back in the day already explained this whole joke with
12:11Ant-Man the Wasp quantumania and Doctor strange multiverse of madness uses him mostly joking
12:16on those movies, but paradox also reveals that they view the MCU in the sacred timeline
12:22is the only true universe in the multiverse really to explain why they think the X-Men
12:26universe is like this side quest that doesn't really matter like you know what is just a
12:30bunch of other universes out there, but really it's all about the MCU were really focused
12:34on protecting that Ryan Reynolds said that that's meant to be a nod to the idea that
12:39when Disney bought Fox initially when he was pitching Deadpool movies Marvel was mostly
12:44just interested in Deadpool himself and didn't really care about a lot of the other X-Men
12:49characters at the time like they just wanted Deadpool, but not all of his friends quote
12:55unquote.
12:56So that's how the plot in the movie was born with Deadpool trying to save his friends from
13:00being erased when his universe was destroyed by paradox the movie itself is like four layers
13:06deep with references like it's a reference to what's happening in real life like he references
13:10all the Disney Fox stuff happening at the beginning of the movie and throughout the
13:13movie even though they're meant to be funny jokes a lot of that is based on stuff that
13:17happened in real life during the deleted scenes.
13:20He also makes a Chris Pratt reference saying I hope you're not expecting too much screen
13:23time when he's talking to the other variants of the other main character variants I hope
13:27you're not expecting too much screen time.
13:30I'm thinking Pratt in love and thunder and a second more he mentions he's thinking Pratt
13:34in love and thunder and not a second more he's talking about the guardians of the galaxy
13:37cameo at the beginning of Thor love and thunder they reveal that Ryan Reynolds called Wolverine
13:42in the yellow suit while they were filming Admiral banana there a bunch of jokes that
13:46Deadpool has in theatrical cut about the actual yellow suit itself like to the X-Men
13:50make you wear that they're not your friend making it look like you're fighting crime
13:53for the Los Angeles Rams.
13:55There's a couple extra jokes during the gag reel where he makes a Michael Eisner reference
13:59when he's making the Kevin Feige joke about doing all the coke if you don't remember Michael
14:03Eisner he was the CEO of Disney before Bob Iger who left in disgrace like he left because
14:09Disney was actually doing fairly poorly as a company around the early 2000s there a billion
14:14more Easter eggs and hidden details that they reveal during the actual commentary.
14:18So just starting with the beginning of that and going through and hitting the really big
14:21stuff that they mention Ryan Reynolds said that he specifically requested that Marvel
14:25put the Deadpool movie scenes from the first two movies in the new intro at the beginning
14:29of the film instead of waiting till the next movie which would be Captain America brave
14:33new world because usually when Marvel introduces a brand-new character in the MCU they wait
14:38to put them in the actual Marvel studios intro till the next movie when they were getting
14:43ready to make the movie Ryan Reynolds walked around with a playlist of songs that he thought
14:47would be cool in the movie like just ideas for songs in the movies.
14:50He said that the playlist was called Logan pool.
14:53He raises one of his big problems with the Wolverine character this meant to be kind
14:57of a funny problem that he has is that Wolverine's teeth are not adamantium to like the rest
15:01of his skeleton because technically teeth are made of bone in all of his bones are supposed
15:06to be adamantium they explain that the company that created the opening titles for the first
15:10two Deadpool movies were the ones who came up with the titles for this movie and they
15:14call the concept of this dance pool the dancing to the NSYNC song throughout the fight they'd
15:19already plan to do the fight with Wolverine's adamantium skeleton, but not the dancing part
15:25when Deadpool is blowing at the candles on his cake here.
15:27He also curses God for allowing Disney to buy Fox.
15:31They also explain this funny montage where they're making all the coke references was
15:35only supposed to be for the trailers.
15:37It wasn't supposed to be in the actual final movie, but they laughed at it so much they
15:40just left it in.
15:41So there were a lot of scenes that they just specifically made for marketing purposes.
15:46They made a bunch of jokes about why Thor was really crying and about how they're making
15:50this up as they go like they didn't know when they actually shot the scene.
15:54It was just meant to be a funny moment, but eventually they'll pay the scene off in a
15:57future Avengers movie like secret wars and then say that they'd always planned to pay
16:01it off that particular way making themselves look like geniuses and even though Ryan Reynolds
16:06was clowning on himself there Marvel actually does that a lot in real life like they'll
16:11just kind of make things up as they go and then try to tie it together later with Easter
16:15eggs like oh we always plan to have it this way.
16:18He breaks the fourth wall a billion different times during the early part of the movie here,
16:22but he said he always wanted to grab the boom mic when he was breaking the fourth wall back
16:26during the first Deadpool movie, but the idea was is that when they were making the first
16:30movie breaking the fourth wall so much was kind of a new concept in superhero movies
16:35like this.
16:36So they felt like it was too soon to do it.
16:38That was why you saw the references in the meta of it all get even crazier during Deadpool
16:43to like when he killed the version of himself in another universe before he made the Green
16:47Lantern movie Ryan Reynolds says that one of the reasons why he really like seeing the
16:51X-Men characters now coming to the MCU in one of the major differences between them
16:56and the traditional MCU superheroes is that the X-Men characters are more morally flexible
17:00and will frequently do the wrong thing at any given moment in the MCU heroes which tend
17:05to be more straight-up good or bad were slowly starting to see them blur the lines more and
17:10more in the more recent Marvel movies though after the Wolverine montage the multiverse
17:15with him seeing all the different versions when he brings this Wolverine back to the
17:18TVA in the suit.
17:20There was a deleted scene where he refers to Wolverine's butt as Canada's ass making
17:24a Captain America joke from endgame like that's America's ass Sean Levy said that that's specifically
17:29why they frame the shots that you can actually see Wolverine's butt making the exact same
17:33pose is Captain America's body when he passed out and looked at his butt during endgame
17:38later in the movie.
17:39The reason why nice pool has a Honda odyssey and then gives it to them with all the jokes
17:43of Deadpool ripping Honda's is terrible cars is because Sean Levy the director owns a Honda
17:48odyssey like this exact car in real life because he has a huge family, but he also calls the
17:53car Betsy in real life, which is why nice pool in the movie calls his Honda Betsy they
17:59didn't explain which version of Spider-Man Deadpool actually knows, but they did reference
18:03all these different Spidey scenes just saying that they had a lot of fun with them personally
18:07because Deadpool is so familiar with MCU the MCU characters.
18:11I think the idea is that he knows who Tom Holland Spider-Man is when Wolverine stops
18:15the car and dresses him down is meant to be a reference to the planes trains and automobiles
18:20scene where Steve Martin's character dresses down John Candy's character that I like me
18:24speech when they're all on their way to the final battle in the car Deadpool breaks the
18:29fourth wall again telling the cameraman to tilt the camera up to blade as he stands up
18:34to fire the rocket launcher early on in the movie.
18:37There's a James Mangold joke where he says Wolverine is hard and they tell him to stop
18:42Deadpool says Mangold tried imply the James Mangold actually tried to prevent marvel from
18:48bringing back Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in this movie there couple news outlets that
18:53actually asked him about that he was definitely not happy about this whole concept in the
18:57movie already talked about a lot of the different Easter eggs and references with the characters
19:01in the things the items from different marvel movies at the Ant-Man base, but when they
19:05were making the movie.
19:06They actually called it Ant-Man arena.
19:09If you look inside the version of cerebro that she built into the inside of Ant-Man's
19:13helmet you notice that she actually has Thanos's throne from the Avengers movies needed at
19:18some point she killed versions of Thanos probably multiple versions of Thanos, but also took
19:23his dark Aster ship at some point salvaged it because that's where the throne came from.
19:28Also there's a lot of his Q ships throughout the void to on her throne is Doctor strange's
19:33cloak of levitation and the sling ring that has both of the infinity stones in it to if
19:39you notice Ryan Reynolds actually posted this a little while ago to it's a plaque that says
19:43Deadpool in friend with them holding hands notice it only has two Wolverine claws on
19:48it to like where's the third claw here.
19:50He said when they were getting ready to reveal the movie to everyone like after they'd been
19:53shooting it for a while.
19:55One of the titles actually was Deadpool in front like they were thinking about calling
19:58the movie that for a long time until he leaked out the title to see how people responded
20:03if people liked it and everybody hated it.
20:06So behind the scenes they scramble to come up with a new title for the movie which wound
20:10up being Deadpool and Wolverine, but like during the behind the scenes Hugh Jackman
20:13also jokes I think of the movie as Wolverine and Deadpool like he calls it Wolverine and
20:17Deadpool when Cassandra Nova takes Wolverine into his mind what she's actually trying to
20:22do here per Ryan Reynolds is basically turn him evil because she wants to stick it to
20:27Professor X again making his favorite X-Man her new favorite X-Man there was an alternate
20:34plot for the movie for her character featuring more Professor X back story where he would
20:39have been fighting her and have sent her to the void, but in the final theatrical version
20:43they just change that to explain the TVA pruned her when she was a baby before she was able
20:47to walk and even the most the focus on breaking the fourth wall is watching Deadpool do it
20:52throughout the movie.
20:53There's one time where you could actually say that Hugh Jackman's Wolverine kind of
20:57breaks the fourth wall.
20:59This scene where he punches pyro out saying not everybody gets a speech was actually supposed
21:02to be Deadpool's line in the script, but Ryan Reynolds gave the line to Wolverine like you
21:07say it'll be funnier if you do it and he says one of his great prides in life now is that
21:12after the scene where Deadpool calls the sling ring portal Marvel's sparkle circle
21:17is that everybody Marvel including Kevin Feige now always call these Marvel sparkle circles
21:23like that's the name that Marvel uses for them going forward now there billion other
21:28deleted scenes and little hidden details in the background that I've referenced in my
21:31other Deadpool deleted scenes videos so I'll link those at the end of this and down the
21:35description below as you can see from like the 10 different videos that I've done on
21:39this.
21:40They're like a billion different versions of this movie.
21:42There's like whole other movies that you could release inside this movie full of deleted
21:46scenes a lot of the plans for Deadpool and Wolverine going forward also changed while
21:51they were making this movie.
21:52Like is originally King dynasty was going to be Avengers five they this whole King plot
21:57so they plan on bringing Deadpool and Wolverine back during secret wars, but not so much during
22:01Avengers five now that's all change just because the success of the movie and because of their
22:06new plans with Robert Downey jr.'s Doctor doom in making Avengers five version of doomsday.
22:11So there is a pretty good chance that they might actually be featured at some point during
22:15Avengers five maybe like a post credit scene, but mostly during Avengers six secret wars
22:20with a lot of the other variants from other universes again if there's any other big Easter
22:24eggs or references that you saw in the movie that I didn't talk about in this video or
22:28my other deleted scenes videos that I post the last couple of weeks just write them below
22:32in the comments there couple other Spider-Man references peppered throughout the movie when
22:37he's fighting Deadpool the first time in the void in front of the 20th century Fox logo
22:40they actually mimic the fight scene that Peter Parker had with his flash Thompson and Tobey
22:45Maguire's first Spider-Man movie and for a while in the movie this diner that they eat
22:50at was meant to be the same pizza place from Tobey Maguire Spider-Man 2, but at some point
22:54they just change that remove the reference probably because they wanted to pull back
22:58a lot of the Spider-Man references is a bunch of big stuff coming up were in the middle
