Škoda Motorsport presents a new all-electric racing car concept: the Enyaq RS Race. Rooted in the Czech brand’s racing DNA, this concept supports the development of innovative technologies and sustainable materials, serving as a pilot project for future production models. The lower and wider concept car incorporates innovative, sustainable biocomposite parts that provide the same rigidity and weight advantages as carbon fibre, contributing to an overall weight reduction of 316 kg compared to the Škoda Enyaq Coupé vRS on which it is based.

00:00Motorsport is here to entertain you.
00:03Its other important role is to give much more emotion to Skoda's road-going RS models.
00:08Do you know what happens when our engineers take a look at the Enyaq RS?
00:11You get this.
00:15The Enyaq RS race concept is an example of how far the road-based Enyaq RS can be taken in terms of fun,
00:21behind the wheel and use the lightweight sustainable materials.
00:24The car has the same basic powertrain layout and the production power of 340 horsepower.
00:30Otherwise, there are a number of ways in which it resembles my Fabia RS Rally 2.
00:34Let's start inside.
00:36Inside this car, it's a real racer.
00:38It has the roll cage just at the rally regulation,
00:41it has a steering wheel just made for this car,
00:44a bespoke dashboard and then of course a really cool pedal box straight out of the rally car.
00:50But most importantly is this thing here.
00:52It's a hydraulic handbrake.
00:54That's the most fun thing we have.
00:56Obviously, the hydraulic handbrake is my absolute favorite thing in a rally car.
00:59So I'm very keen to see how it works inside this electric car.
01:05I never thought I'd be driving an electric car sideways.
01:11The Enyaq RS race has revised kinematics and chassis geometry.
01:16Sustainable flax-based composite materials are used on the roof, fenders and seals.
01:21They've helped to lower the center of gravity and weight below the 2 ton mark.
01:25Weight savings have also been achieved on brakes and beautiful wheel rims.
01:29I have to say, this new Enyaq RS race is a really exciting car to drive.
01:35First of all, it's super fast.
01:37And secondly, to go that fast, this car is now much more stable.
01:42It feels lower and it's not like driving another SUV.
01:45It feels like a really cool, fun car to drive.
01:48And it feels much more nimble, lightweight.
01:51And yeah, fun to play with the car.
01:53You really feel you've lost a lot of weight in this car.
01:56Because you can really play with it much, much more.
01:59And have a lot, a lot of fun.
02:06How did you like it?
02:07Well, as you can see, I'm very warm and also I've been pushing hard.
02:10But yeah, I have to say, you've done a good job to get the combination between the road car with the powertrain.
02:16And then obviously to get more rally feeling.
02:19The Enyaq RS race really shows how to move DNA Motorsport into the road cars.
02:24And a sustainable future.
02:26The Skoda Motorsport engineers haven't shied away in electric powertrain.
02:30They made a great car and it's really fun to drive.
