00:00From MLB star to J-Lo beau to fitness inspo, here's how Alex Rodriguez has changed since
00:06his last high-profile relationship.
00:09Alex Rodriguez has had a total glow-up since parting ways with Jennifer Lopez in 2021.
00:14Of course, most people would agree that Lopez, known for her immaculate style and beauty,
00:20had already upgraded the former baseball pro's style while they were together. Still, he
00:24hasn't allowed the heartbreak of losing his gorgeous ex-girlfriend stop him from hitting
00:28various personal fitness milestones, which includes, among other things, weight loss.
00:34In fact, the athlete was 30 pounds down as of 2023, a feat achieved with easy lifestyle
00:40changes.
00:41From the time I wake up, I'm in the gym at eight, work out for a couple of hours, come
00:45home, do a little sauna, a little steam, stretch, meditate, and then I'm on my desk."
00:49Rodriguez once shared with People magazine,
00:51"...The biggest thing I've done for my diet is I used to eat meat-like steak probably
00:56eight out of ten days, and now I've cut it to one or two days out of ten."
01:00With that said, his workout routine has remained consistent, with the former athlete telling
01:05People,
01:06"...I've been doing the same exercise routine now for a couple of years, getting to the
01:09gym six or seven days a week, just to break a sweat every day, nothing too crazy. I try
01:14to mix in a little yoga here and there, and some meditation, and then I incorporate a
01:1940-minute walk before I go to bed."
01:22Of course, Rodriguez has also been flaunting his weight loss while sharing what — and
01:26who — pushed him onto a healthier path.
01:29In July 2024, Jacqueline Cordero, Rodriguez's current girlfriend, posted photos of the former
01:35MLB star looking more slender, muscular, and toned than he'd appeared in years as he posed
01:41under a pier in Malibu, California. The star wore only dark blue swim trunks and sunglasses
01:47as he smiled next to the water. Interspersed between his shots were photos of Cordero rocking
01:52a green and purple swimsuit and white hat.
01:56Rodriguez commented on the post with heart and fire emojis, so it's safe to say he appreciated
02:00the glamour shots. However, it seems that the star's appreciation isn't just because
02:05Cordero — who works in the fitness space — captured him at the perfect angle. It's
02:10because she's the person who helped spur his weight loss success.
02:14Rodriguez shared with the New York Post,
02:16She's been a good influence with me. I've been working hard and trying to stay in shape
02:20and continuing to try to copy some of her great work ethic and health and wellness practices."
02:25Rodriguez also boasted about Cordero's background,
02:28"...I think what's unique about her is that she's gone from nursing for over a decade
02:32and she's now shifted post-COVID into health and wellness. So she comes at it from a very
02:37organic, very scientific point of view."
02:40Rodriguez also took to Instagram to post some uber-fabulous shots from his Malibu trip,
02:45which he embarked on to celebrate a very important birthday.
02:48In a slideshow capped off with a photo of him cheesing on a boat while flaunting his
02:52physique, the former MLB star revealed that he felt better than he did when he was younger.
02:57He captioned the slideshow,
02:59"...officially 49, feeling better than I ever have and so thankful to be healthy and surrounded
03:05by amazing family and friends. Life moves pretty quick, remember to pause and enjoy."
03:11With that said, it seems that the baseball pro should also thank his mother for passing
03:15on some great genes when it comes to staying in excellent shape. After all, she had no
03:20problem keeping up with him as they danced on a boat on his big day. He captioned an
03:25Instagram video of them sharing an adorable mother-son dance,
03:28"...I hope I'll be dancing like my mom when I'm 88. The Dominican moves never stop."
03:34But don't think that was a fluke. Rodriguez shared with People in March 2024,
03:39"...She's 89 today and she can out-dance me and out-drink me. We recently had a holiday
03:44party and I was in bed at 2am and I woke up the next day and everyone was like, yeah your
03:49mom was up till 5.30 drinking."
