00:00A former homeless man has begun a 200 mile sponsored walk from Stegness to
00:06Hunstanton and back to say thank you to the charity that helped him find a home
00:12and start his own business. Tim just a few more minutes to go before you start
00:23your 200 mile sponsored walk in aid of restore at the storehouse how are you
00:29feeling yeah I mean that bag looks pretty heavy do you know how how heavy
00:37it is? Rough guess 30 kilos maybe 35 yeah and where are you going to? I'm walking
00:43from the storehouse here at Stegness coastal path along through Kingsland to
00:51Hunstanton just past there and then walking back basically around the wash
00:56right so the question everyone will be asking is why? I want to raise money for
01:04Restore and for the food bank they're both based at the back of the storehouse
01:08I came here homeless nearly six months ago and since then they've helped me out
01:14tremendously and I've seen the work they do with the community so it's just my
01:19way of paying paying back basically. Now you did explain you you walk through the
01:24doors a homeless man but things are turning around for you aren't they?
01:30I've got a roof over my head now started my own business it is very early days but I
01:37try and give all my time to to the storehouse so my business comes second
01:43yeah you're a volunteer here as well now how many days do you think this
01:49walk's gonna take? I'm expecting to be back here on the 22nd of October
01:56sorry so nine days. And will you be camping out? Yes while camping pretty
02:02much just a tarpaulin and a sleeping bag. And who have you got with you as a
02:06companion? Monty. Is he used to such long walks? Yes he's done a lot of walking. He probably doesn't realise what's in store for him but at least it's sunny isn't it?
02:18So good luck and we will keep in touch along the way and and see how you're
02:24going. Are you on Facebook will you be posting pictures? I will be yeah you can
02:29find me on the storehouse church Facebook page there'll be updates on
02:34there and obviously the GoFundMe link is on there as well. Okay so and that's how
02:41people can donate some money? They can donate online or they can come into the
02:47storehouse and donate to any of the managers in there. Dave you're a
02:54volunteer at Restore I mean you must have seen Tim's story unfold since you
03:01first walked through the door at the storehouse? Yes I have it's quite amazing
03:06how well he's done actually and I think a lot of it is the Restore that's helped
03:10the fact that he's got a purpose now. And what do you think to him repaying
03:19Restore in this way? Brilliant idea absolutely superb yeah I'm fully behind him still think he's
03:27crazy but yeah good on him. Okay well so it sounds like somebody down there is is
03:33really looking forward to get going so I won't hold you up any longer.
