00:30So, as you are aware, there was a train accident involving Bagmati Express at around 8.30

00:42in a place called Kavarapetai in Thiruvallur district of Tamil Nadu.

00:46A stationed cargo train was, it collided on a cargo train.

00:52Around six coaches were derailed.

00:53There were around 1,360 passengers on board.

00:56It is said that there were 1,360 passengers on board.

01:00So we swung into action.

01:03Our Honorable Chief Minister had instructed us to ensure that the rescue operation be

01:07in full swing.

01:08And based on his instructions, we ensured that every single passenger was rescued.

01:13So luckily, there are no casualties, there have been no deaths.

01:17We had 19 people who had injuries and three of them, four of them had severe injuries.

01:22They all were referred immediately to the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital

01:25in Chennai.

01:26And the others with minor injuries were referred to the nearby hospital at Ponneri.

01:30So far, all of them are stable and we believe that there will be no casualties as well.

01:36But then, they have been given the best medical care.

01:38Right now, we are ensuring the well-being of the passengers who have been rescued from

01:42here.

01:43Immediately, cooked food have been arranged on the orders of the Honorable Chief Minister.

01:46People have been provided with water, immediate biscuit and other refreshments.

01:51And cooked food is getting cooked.

01:53We have arranged accommodation for people nearby.

01:56The nearby marriage halls, which is close to five minutes from here.

01:59People are being stationed here.

02:01People who are willing to travel to Chennai, we have arranged travel, transportation for

02:05them through the State Transport Corporation buses and other buses.

02:08So hopefully, this situation has been in control and we believe everybody is safe.
