00:00Congratulations. One from one. You must be wrapped with the day. Everything went to plan.
00:04Yeah, it certainly did. We couldn't have really gone more to plan, to be frank.
00:08A lot of the things out of our control and out of NAPS control went our way.
00:11We won the toss, we had a bowl, that's what we wanted to do.
00:13We got down here on Tuesday night and assessed the conditions and felt like it was going to be really hard to know what a good score was.
00:19So, yeah, it went our way and then a few things through the middle, like a few little mix-ups, run-outs, were always killers.
00:25And we jumped on them gently. So, excellent performance, all-round performance.
00:30Really good from the spinners.
00:32Probably the main thing for the entire day was, you know, there's a lot to talk about who we brought into the club,
00:36but it was the guys who were already here that performed today.
00:38It was Dizzy, it was Hudson that performed with the ball.
00:42Woody did a really good job. It looks pretty class, both sides of the ball, who we brought in.
00:46But, yeah, really exciting performance, obviously.
00:49But the key message out of the day was not to get too excited if it goes really well or not get too disappointed if it doesn't.
00:55So, that was sort of the start of the day and now we've been challenged in that space and we've moved on to Daly next week.
01:00This club's had a habit of winning the first game, though, the last couple of years and then falling away.
01:04I mean, how important is it now to keep this momentum building, as you say, to Daly next week?
01:08Oh, certainly. I think that's where, I mean, one of the things I imagine that Daly's going to see when they see the result today
01:13is perhaps it's not the same Bunningham it was last year.
01:16So, we expect them to perhaps approach us in a different manner than they may have otherwise.
01:20But we're just going to stick to our process. A lot of the years building up to this point has been solely on us.
01:25We haven't done any sort of opposition analysis, you know, vaguely.
01:28Off-stunt doesn't move. We're just going to keep running in, bowling at bat, hunting around the field, getting busy when we bat.
01:33So, that's the plan for next week and we'll see how we go.
01:36Well, you'll tell me about the batting, how you put all the batting into it.
01:38Obviously, it's done a lot of good. I mean, you only lost the one wicket chase to 100.
01:42Yeah, and I think that was, you get tempted, I think, with those sort of scores is to take it quite slowly and approach it.
01:47But we sort of wanted to try and kill the game pretty quick. We've got two attacking players up top.
01:52You said aggression was going to be a key?
01:53Yeah, or intent at least. I felt like we could get ourselves going with singles and there's just so little space to miss on the synthos.
02:02So, we thought we'd try and really sweat length back of a length.
02:05As soon as they miss short, if you get out pulling and cutting today, it was nearly a free pass.
02:10That's what we looked for. And we got, again, it was a few that were lucky.
02:12It was a few top edgers that went over the top and went for six.
02:14But I think it was because we had that clarity of mind about how we're going to play the shot and about how we're going to look to score.
02:20And yeah, the boys did really well. Again, it wasn't too much mind doing.
02:23I know a lot of people probably looked my way, but the boys took care of business today.
02:27Well, I was going to say you were seven overs for 20 and didn't have to bat.
02:30So, you know, you've had a nice wide-ish day for yourself.
02:32No, that's right. It's a nice little sort of re-entry, to be honest.
02:34But it's, yeah, I think it's where I was saying it to my brother before.
02:38I think it's like the competition is going to be in really good order.
02:40I appreciate Naps were down where we were last year as well.
02:44And they look like a really good cricket team to me.
02:47So I'm looking forward to seeing what the other teams are going to bring for us and bring at us and prepare as best we can.
