00:00It's been a marvellous first year, we have a great team here, but we have amazing residents
00:20who are also here tonight as well celebrating with us.
00:24We are very proud of our home, it is an amazing home, the location is absolutely stunning.
00:31And I think somebody said to me earlier on, it's like the outside coming in.
00:43And I remember when we first opened with CQC, they said, what is it about this building?
00:48And I said, I just love the light, I feel like we're not trapped.
00:52And I think every person who comes to this home does feel like that.
00:57No matter what our ailments are, no matter what our memories are, or why we've come here as well.
01:03And someone just said to me, it's been a hard journey for some of our residents to get here.
01:08And we absolutely appreciate how difficult that is for you.
01:13We know that we have a tough time sometimes when people first come to us,
01:17because most residents don't choose to come into our home.
01:21And in fact, it's circumstances that's driven that decision.
01:24Often the stress at home, obviously loss and grief.
01:28And we have all those emotions to deal with.
01:31And I think you'd like to join me and say thank you very much to my lovely staff team,
01:35who do an amazing job, they are very new here.
01:38And if you've ever had a new team, you know that can be quite demanding,
01:42but they absolutely try their best.
01:45And I think if they don't, as somebody's looking at me, we sort it out.
01:50So thank you.
01:58The founders of the company have been actually operating for 30 years.
02:01One of the big decisions is that Caring Homes is going to be able to open a charity for welfare of their staff.
02:07And I think that's an amazing thing.
02:09So if somebody falls into a particular hardship,
02:12they will go in front of a specialist board, like a charity board,
02:15and then it will be decided whether they can have a piece of equipment, a dishwasher, anything like that.
02:20And I think that's an amazing thing, because it's not the biggest company,
02:23but it is a family company based on family values.
02:27So I thought that was quite awe-inspiring.
02:30And for me, I've been working in Caring Homes for 11 and a half years.
02:34And I have to say, for a manager to be in that amount of time for a care home,
02:38or the industry, is actually an amazing length of time.
02:41Because a lot of new homes, as you know, struggle to keep their managers.
02:44So I'm very proud, and I'm very proud of all my residents,
02:48and we're all very different, but difference is celebrated.
02:52So I'd like to raise a toast to absolutely everyone, and our special guests today.
02:57Thank you very much for joining us.
02:59So a toast to Taryn Mannerton, to all who have come, and all who have stayed.
03:04And also for people who we have sadly lost along the way as well,
03:07which there have been a few, and quite recently.
03:10So we do need to remember them as well.
03:12So let's raise a toast to Taryn Manner and all.
03:19And enjoy.
