The Palestine cause is not a religious struggle but a fight to stop the killings of innocent human beings, leaders of various political parties said at a mega rally in Kuala Lumpur on Friday (Oct 11).

00:03Leaders of various political parties joined many at a mega rally in Kuala Lumpur on Friday
00:08to show solidarity with Palestinians.
00:11Murder is happening in front of our eyes.
00:14They emphasised that the cause is not a religious struggle,
00:17but a fight to end the killings of innocent lives.
00:20The rally, led by Parti Amanah Malaysia President
00:23and Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu,
00:28took place after Friday prayers at Masjid Ash-Shakirin at Tabung Haji.
00:32It marks the first of several planned gatherings
00:35to commemorate the one-year anniversary of Israel's intensified assault on Gaza,
00:41which began on October 7 last year.
00:44Mohamad applauded the growing support for Palestine
00:47from citizens in the US and Europe,
00:49despite their government's backing of Israel.
00:52We thank the people of Europe,
00:55who did not want to return to Gaza.
00:58They did not want to see women killed cruelly.
01:02We thank the people of the United Kingdom.
01:05Thank you to the people of Ireland.
01:07Thank you to the people of Spain.
01:09Thank you to the people of Germany.
01:11Thank you to the people of America.
01:13We salute their government.
01:16We stand here,
01:18we remember the one-year genocide that took place in the land of Palestine.
01:25As long as the land of Palestine is not free,
01:29we will not lower our voices.
01:32We will not stop our struggle.
01:36We will not stop our struggle.
01:40Because this is a struggle for humanity.
01:45As long as there are people who are oppressed,
01:48we as the world have a duty to uphold justice.
01:56A memorandum addressed to US President Joe Biden,
01:59Vice President Kamala Harris,
02:01and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump
02:04was placed in the US Embassy's mailbox
02:06after security personnel declined to accept it.
02:11We would like to express our deepest condolences
02:16to the US Embassy's Ambassador, Edgard Kagan.
02:23The rally concluded peacefully after about an hour.
