Experience the music of Gladiator II with Ridley Scott and Harry Gregson-Williams.
From legendary director Ridley Scott, Gladiator II continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.

00:00Music, to me, is language. It's the final dialogue. It gives the film that added dynamic
00:16as and when you may need it. Here we go. Here's bar 6, everybody. 6, 2, 3, 4. Harry truly
00:35is an extraordinarily good composer. He stuns me with what he is capable of doing. The music
00:43that I've written contains elements of Hans's original Gladiator theme. The sound that can
00:48be achieved and captured here is second to none. Ridley is quite an open book when it comes to
00:56music, but he'll talk to me about light and darkness, and then I'll interpret it in a
01:02musical way. There's a good balance between big action sequences and the sort of power and
01:10nobility of the Roman Empire. This is what they believe in, power. Ridley's really upped the ante
01:18here with the epic battles in the Colosseum. In the script, one line said, at this moment,
01:26Lucius becomes Maximus. I thought, what if I create a theme for Lucius that becomes Hans's
01:34theme from the first movie? I love that he took it and just expanded it, making something which is
01:42so extraordinary. Music is a statement. It's a sound statement, and I think they're going to love it.
01:50What is the dream of Rome? The people are not free.
