En La Máquina, el personaje principal, Esteban ‘La Máquina’ Osuna (García Bernal) está en un mal momento de su carrera como boxeador después de una pérdida devastadora. Su manager y amigo, Andy Luján (Luna) está decidido a ayudarlo a recuperar su gloria pasada. Sin embargo, la pareja empieza a meterse en problemas cuando una organización aparece y empieza a presionarlos.
