Just when it seemed that Jude Bellingham had bailed out another England manager with a late rescue act, Vangelis Pavlidis capitalised on some shambolic defending to score his second of the night and condemn Lee Carsley’s side to a humiliating 2-1 defeat at Wembley.Pavlidis’ close-range finish in the 94th-minute ensured justice was done for Greece, who were as impressive as England were chaotic in a famous win, which will be dedicated to the memory of their late international, George Baldock, who died this week.

00:00Well all over here at Wembley and for Lee Carsley a very very disappointing night. His 100% winning
00:05record as England's interim manager screeches to a halt. A 2-1 defeat at home against Greece with
00:12Vangelis Pavlidis who signed this summer for Benfica scoring both of the goals and Greece
00:16had the ball in the net five times on the night. Dan what did you make of it? Yeah I thought that
00:21was a pretty catastrophic night for Lee Carsley. I think his hopes of landing the permanent job
00:24we've got to say are severely dented by that. He obviously went with this fancy football lineup,
00:29crammed all his best players into the team, all his best attackers as well. A generous reading is
00:35that he was perhaps making a point saying look here's the lineup all the fans wanted let's see
00:39how it works but I think the other way of looking at it really is that he bowed to the clamour
00:46from supporters to kind of crowbar Foden, Palmer, Saka, Bellingham, Gordon all into the 11 and it
00:53just didn't work. England were dysfunctional up front and they were wide open. I mean as you said
00:57Greece scored twice and had three goals disallowed. 1-0 would have flattered England, 1-1 definitely
01:02flattered England and 2-1 yeah Greece got the result they deserved but it could have been much
01:07worse. Yeah it was a fine goal from Bellingham wasn't it after 87 minutes to equalise for England
01:12but I think as you say Greece deserved victory and it was good for their travelling support that
01:16they were able to celebrate a 94th minute win but yeah disappointing for England not only for
01:21Lee Carsley and for England's attempt to get back to winning ways under him but also in terms
01:28of the campaign because England want to get back to the Nations League A don't they and of course
01:31to lose tonight harms their chances of that so yeah disappointing night for Lee Carsley but also for England.
