00:00When we all talked about this second Saturday in October, this
00:08was supposed to be the fourth top 25 top 15 top 10 game of
00:13this Saturday. USC gets beat as an eight and a half point road
00:17favorite in Minneapolis last week by the Golden Gophers. So
00:21it loses a little bit of its steam, but will it still be a
00:25good game four and a half point spread in favor of Penn State
00:29on the road in the Coliseum? I think it still should be a good
00:33game. I worry again about the James Franklin flat spot and we
00:39sort of got it last week, right? Like, I mean, it was a game
00:43that was scoreless in the first quarter. I know that they were
00:45up 14-3 at half, but it didn't look like Penn State really was
00:50involved in that game all that much. It didn't look like they
00:52were ready to steamroll an opponent. That was much worse
00:55than that. I mean much worse than they are. Now, they got to
00:58go out on the road for the first time since the very first
01:02game of the year against a much lesser opponent in WVU. I think
01:05USC is a better team than West Virginia. So now they got to go
01:08back out on the road cross country after four straight home
01:10games. God, it reeks of a flat spot for James Franklin. The
01:15difference here is that the number is manageable, right?
01:19I'm only laying four here and for Penn State to be able to
01:23win this game by a touchdown doesn't surprise me with their
01:26defense. This is a very capable defense. I just wonder how much
01:30is this offense going to be, you know, is Drew Allard and
01:33company going to go a full quarter without scoring a single
01:36point or doing anything of note in a game like they did against
01:39UCLA last week. USC's defense isn't as good as Illinois. So I
01:43don't think you worry about that. The real question is again,
01:46if they couldn't put up points at ease against against UCLA
01:49gives me a lot, at home no less, gives me a lot of pause for
01:52them to do it against USC on the road, especially with a ticked
01:55off USC team after dropping a game to Minnesota last week.
