00:14The dive, five nautical miles from shore, marked the launch of the Terengganu Recreational
00:19Juvenile Cuboid Artificial Reef Trawl Net Barrier Programme.
00:24Twenty new reefs were deployed, part of 100 reefs constructed this year under the Terengganu
00:29State Marine Fisheries Resource Enrichment Programme.

00:39Dr. Azman Ibrahim said the state government aims to establish a reef boundary along the
00:45state's 244-kilometre coastline, with plans for an artificial reef cluster every kilometre
00:51to protect Zone A fishing areas from trawler encroachment.
00:55Since 2006, more than 1,500 artificial reefs have been deployed off Terengganu, costing
01:01over R18 million in combined state and federal funding.
01:05Marine resource landings increased to 46,000 tonnes last year, up from 33,000 tonnes in
01:112022.
