00:00We have a new segment every Thursday called G-Terms.
00:08In this segment, we will give a deeper understanding of the gender terms
00:14that we often hear but not all of us are familiar with.
00:19Our goal is to explain the meaning of each term
00:23and the role it plays in our knowledge and respect for different gender identities.
00:30So, what are we waiting for?
00:32Let's go! Let's G for G-Terms!
00:38This is very important to talk about the different kinds of terms for G-Terms.
00:44The first one is what we call Gender in Development or GAD mainstreaming.
00:51It is the major global strategy for ensuring that the government pursues
00:55gender equality in all aspects of the development process
00:58to achieve the vision of a gender responsive society
01:02where women and men equally contribute to benefit from development.
01:07This is very important for different institutions, agencies, governments, and corporations.
01:12Maybe not only for government agencies but also for NGOs
01:16or non-government organizations and other civic organizations
01:20where we recognize the different rights of men and women.
01:24When we talk about gender, it does not only apply to males and females.
01:29It also applies to different kinds of gender from LGBTQIA+.
01:37There are many more.
01:39That is why we should recognize the rights that can be given to a company
01:44without discrimination.
01:46Discrimination should be removed from all aspects of different kinds of gender.
01:53This is G for Gender Mainstreaming.
01:57Mainstreaming is an interrelated set of dominant ideas, values, practices, institutions,
02:04and organizations that determine who gets what within a society.
02:09Of course, it should be an equal recognition of all aspects of your identity.
02:16In order to show the concept of who gets what,
02:20it is right to talk about equality from the point of view of what men can do
02:25and what women can do.
02:27For instance, if I'm not mistaken, in the Department of Labor and Employment,
02:33it should be recognized that the number of men is also the number of women in a field.
02:38For instance, if it's an engineering field,
02:41we know that mostly men are in the lead.
02:44But we should also recognize that women are also good.
02:48What about men?
02:49Should they also be counted as one?
02:51We know that there are other jobs that are heavier and that women can also do.
02:56Yes, of course.
02:57I met someone somewhere in Bacolodata.
02:59He has a 63-year-old grandmother who is a taxi driver.
03:02Oh, I see.
03:03Arthur Highway has a woman who is a jeepney driver.
03:06Right?
03:07That's right.
03:08That's Ryan.
03:09He's also a jeepney driver.
03:10We can all do that.
03:12Yes, we can.
03:13Those are the things we should know about G-Terms.
