The Justice Department announced the arrest of Nasir Tawhedi, a 27-year-old Afghan national living in Oklahoma, on charges of plotting an Election Day attack on behalf of ISIS. Tawhedi allegedly planned to use semiautomatic firearms and had liquidated family assets and resettled relatives overseas. He was arrested along with a juvenile co-conspirator after an undercover FBI operation involving the purchase of weapons. Investigators say Tawhedi followed ISIS ideology and discussed his plans via Telegram messages.
