00:00More than a week of candidacy for the 2025 election has been generally peaceful.

00:06Comelec said that in November, it is expected that the list of candidates for the election will be released.

00:25So now, it is time for the Commission on Elections to clean up the list of candidates for the elections.

00:34Comelec said that now, they are starting to remove the COCs and CONCACs of the candidates they want.

00:43Today, our law department will start to prosecute nuisance candidates.

00:49According to the poll body, compared to 2019 and 2022 elections,

00:53the number of candidates they want in the Senate is now 183.

00:59But Comelec has a promise.

01:02Not as an independent and without a party, but as a nuisance candidate.

01:07They will not be based on the wealth of the candidate, but on their desire to serve.

01:17It is just a nuisance, not because they don't have a name, or maybe they are always running, or maybe it's their first time running.

01:25That is not an indication of being a nuisance candidate.

01:28To me, it's really more seriousness to serve and hold public office.

01:33One of the things that Comelec will resolve is the parties that hired COCs.

01:38There are some parties that endorsed more than 12 candidates.

01:42That's why all of their candidates will be independent.

01:46There are also parties that have factions, like the Workers' and Peasants' Party,

01:50whose members do not know that their leader, Apollo Quibuloy, is a member of the group.

01:56This is also the problem with some party lists, like Magsasaka Party List,

02:00which has three sets of 10 nominees, all of whom submitted a CONCAD.

02:12We ask who will be signed by Comelec if there is a conflict with the signing of CONA in one position.

02:27In November, Comelec is expected to release the final list of candidates for the election.

02:34Meanwhile, the eight-day COC filing was successful,

03:08Comelec also explained that the incident of gunfire in the municipality of Sharif Aguac in Mindanao del Sur yesterday,

03:18caused chaos because the supporters of a candidate did not accept the COC of their candidate.

03:25But the truth is, the one who submitted the COC has a warrant of arrest to the police, so it was arrested.

03:33We know now where we will deploy more forces of the PNP.

03:37We will also face, not only Gacid, but we will also face the forces if necessary.

03:44I am telling this to everyone, especially to the candidates with private armed groups,

03:49the Comelec will not hesitate to use all the forces available to us,

03:53all the resources available to us, just to ensure that the voters are able to vote.

03:59There is another incident where the COC of the candidate I wanted was snatched in Himamaylan City in Negros Occidental,

04:06but the new COC was still able to submit it.
