00:00Beautiful, beautiful song, done beautifully there by Debbie and Peter. Where's the inspiration for that, Deb?
00:08Oh, it's a little early. Just things that have been talked about and read about in papers and just years.
00:18It's just lovely listening to a song, so beautiful in the musical sense but also with such an ethereal quality and some lovely words there.
00:26A good song is one you can become part of, isn't it?
00:29You hope so, yeah. That's the thing that you search for when you're writing or singing.
00:35I mean, I've only been writing for a couple of years but I love it. I'm just really enjoying my music a lot more.
00:41Yeah, indeed. And, of course, not to forget standing right beside you, Mr Peter Couples.
00:45Morning, Peter.
00:46Good morning, Bert.
00:47Lovely song. Congratulations.
00:49Now, together, you've both worked on CDs individually, if you understand that Irish.
00:53I'll talk about yours firstly, Debbie, because I remember seeing you at the airport not all that long ago and you were very excited about one thing.
00:57That was, number one, you had a seat in the plane and, number two, that you were writing your own material.
01:02Yeah, yeah. It's just a whole new dimension and I finished the album on Sunday and I think I feel more of myself than I've ever felt.
01:12Oh, right, so it's all down.
01:14Which is a good feeling. I think at 36 you should be feeling like that.
01:16Yeah.
01:17But it's all finished at four o'clock Sunday morning we finished.
01:20And when's it out?
01:21Hopefully February, March.
01:23Right. Got a working title at the moment of the album?
01:25It's got a title. It's called Sleeping Child.
01:27Oh, lovely, lovely. What about you, Peter? You're still working on yours.
01:30I've actually, I started yesterday, Bert. First day in the studio. Deb just finished hers and I've just started.
01:35Right. And so how long will you be in the studio?
01:37I've got two weeks now up until Christmas and then I'll go back at the end of January, February, finish it off.
01:43And all your own material?
01:44Yes.
01:45Yeah. What about in your case, Deb?
01:46I've co-written 11 of the songs, 11 of the 12 songs.
01:50Right. Well, it's just lovely having you in the show this morning.
01:53And I know that song is not on the CD. That'll be on the next one, I'm sure.
01:56But if that's any indication of the sort of stuff that you're writing, we can't wait until March.
02:01Thanks a lot, Bert.
02:02Thanks a lot, Debbie.
02:03Thanks, Peter.
02:04Thank you, Peter.
02:05And I should mention that Debbie is going to be performing at Mieta's next Monday and Tuesday.
02:10This will be a terrific opportunity for you to see and hear Debbie doing some of the stuff for which she's famous.
02:15And also one will see some new stuff from the album.
02:18And it's a beautiful setting for an artist like Debbie Byrne.
02:20And you can see her at Mieta's next Monday and Tuesday.
02:23A lovely lead-in to Christmas.
