Durham Cricket and its Foundation are backing the NSPCC's Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport week, which launches today, and alongside Alan Shearer and Newcastle Eagles, the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) is calling on sports and activity clubs, teams, parents and carers across the UK to take part.

00:00Hi everyone, Alan Shearer here. Just to say I'm proud to be supporting this year's Keeping Your Child Safe in Sport campaign.
00:08Everyone has a role to play in keeping children safe in sport.
00:12The NSPCC's campaign aims to support parents and carers to feel confident about playing their part.
00:19And this year it will be taking place between the 7th and the 11th of October.
00:24There's loads of ways how people can participate.
00:27So to find out how you, your local sports club and parents can get involved, including hosting a team event or huddle,
