Florida locals are stockpiling sandbags and wooden boards and clearing out supermarket shelves and petrol stations ahead of Hurricane Milton.

The storm has intensified to a Category 4 storm and is projected to make landfall in Florida on Wednesday night.

Stores are running low on essential supplies, and local officials are urging the public to follow evacuation orders where applicable.

Video filmed on Monday (Oct 7) shows a long queue of traffic as thousands evacuated Hillsborough County.
