Dover residents are concerned over plans for a new Fastrack bus service

00:00I set the petition up only recently because I was furious when I saw KCC's planned closures

00:06for the streets around the town, namely Pencester, Worthington Street, Began Street, all together over

00:11starting in October all the way through till January. It will inconvenience so many people,

00:18including drivers, bus users, people who work at the college, people who study at the college,

00:22whose car park is around the back there. I don't think the council even know that.

00:25They're cutting off the main artery through the town. It's just insane because there is

00:29already roads that these fast track buses can use. Yeah I signed the petition really from a

00:35road safety point of view. I think from my observations that Pencester is probably the

00:40most heavily used pedestrian wise of all the streets in Dover. Got lots of elderly people

00:46crossing from the buses to the chemist or the dentist, lots of youngsters, quite young children

00:51sometimes, lots of teenagers having fun coming back from the pizza parlour and the sweet shop

00:57and things like that over to the park. The last thing we want is extra traffic. We want less

01:03rather than more and I think this scheme just spells danger.
