00:04Get in the zone, AutoZone.
00:06Let's find out who SmackDown's draft pick is.
00:09Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
00:11I can't wait to find out.
00:13Oh, yeah!
00:15Jeff Hardy, the High Flyer, the Daredevil, is coming to Friday night.
00:20It looks like our SmackDown fans will be lined up for excitement every Friday night via Jeff Hardy.
00:27What a pick for SmackDown.
00:57Is that a simple footfall?
00:58Making his way to the ring from Cameron, North Carolina, weighing 225 pounds, Jeff Hardy!
01:06What a night it's gonna be here as Jeff Hardy reappears on Friday Night SmackDown
01:14after coming over the huge annual WWE draft of a little over a week ago.
01:22And, man, what an addition to any roster.
01:25But adding Jeff Hardy to Friday Night SmackDown just cements that we are now the number one program in all the WWE.
01:37I think there's very little doubt about that, JR.
01:40You know, Nick Lerner-Dale is reading the WWE magazine on the way over to Tulsa.
01:45Interesting story there about Jeff Hardy and about his life, and Jeff talks about his recent personal turmoil
01:52and why he is now a new Jeff Hardy.
01:55It's really a compelling read in this month's WWE magazine.
02:00In some ways, I've always felt that the only person who could really stop Jeff Hardy was Jeff Hardy,
02:06but now he's completely focused, revitalized, got his mindset on big things on SmackDown.
02:13And his opponent, from Los Angeles, California, weighing 219 pounds, he is one half of the WWE Tag Team Champions, Sean Morrison!
02:30JR can't help but think that Sean Morrison would like to have a little something to say about whether or not
02:35Hardy's debut or return here to SmackDown is a happy one.
02:40I'll tell you what, I'm very impressed with John Morrison.
02:43We had the privilege of calling their Tag Time events, they meaning Miz and Morrison,
02:49Sonny the Phenomenal Night of Champions.
02:52And I think that their combination is outstanding.
02:55But this young man, particularly, is as naturally athletic as just about anybody I've seen in years.
03:01I don't know, he reminds me of, sometimes I think he reminds me of a Ravishing Rip Rude,
03:06sometimes I think he reminds me of a great star like Mr. Perfect.
03:09He's got so many wonderful attributions of John Morrison.
03:13And not only that, but his abs are so sharp he can literally grate cheese on them.
03:17I've seen him do it, JR.
03:18I cannot relate to this. I don't think I was born with abs.
03:22But look at that, Jeff Hardy does not seem impressed, he seems rather bemused at the sight of John Morrison.
03:29I think maybe Miz, I disagree, I think maybe Jeff Hardy is just simply focused
03:34because Jeff Hardy, you can't put them all on Friday Night SmackDown if you don't win the first one.
03:40Yeah, but I've been drooling at the prospects of this matchup
03:43because both these guys are so phenomenally talented,
03:46both these guys are so creative with what they do inside and outside the ring,
03:49that I think this is going to be tremendous.
03:59I'm just trying to get over the shocking developments
04:02concerning our General Manager Vickie Guerrero and former World Heavyweight Champion Edge.
04:08Nice uppercut by Morrison.
04:10Well, I was excited to come to Friday Night SmackDown,
04:13but goodness gracious, I didn't know I was going to get in a situation like this
04:18with our General Manager, somewhat uncomfortable quite frankly.
04:21Yeah, we've had a little bit of an upheaval,
04:24and I, odd to say, but I feel for Edge,
04:28because I know the pain he feels at the loss of his championship is very real,
04:32and now it seems like his personal life may be in the beginning stages of unraveling.
04:37Single leg takedown into the armbar,
04:39and it's obvious, or it seems as if, that John Morrison attempting to ground Jeff Hardy,
04:44and that's not an unusual strategy for Jeff Hardy's adversary.
04:48No, because so much of Jeff Hardy's offense depends on taking to the air.
04:52If Morrison were to ground him, it's a great way to start.
04:56Overhand wrist lock this time, putting the pressure on the elbow.
04:59Jeff Hardy getting close to the ropes.
05:02On the senior officials in Friday Night SmackDown,
05:04Mickey Henson calling this one.
05:06Jeff Hardy sidesteps, takes Morrison to the outside,
05:09and Hardy, almost with a head and shoulder fake,
05:13and a chest body off the apron.
05:16Hardy throws down the first, the diamond first,
05:19as far as the high risk is concerned.
05:21Yeah, given all the time that Morrison spends in the Palace of Wisdom,
05:25you gotta wake up pretty early to outsmart him,
05:27but Jeff Hardy did that, just that.
05:29What is the address of the Palace of Wisdom?
05:33Right hand by Hardy.
05:34It's more of a state of mind, JR, than an actual place.
05:38Inhabited.
05:39Zen Buddhism taught me that kind of thing.
05:41Another look right here.
05:44I don't think any of this Zen was involved in that cross body from the apron,
05:48it was just fearless offense by Jeff Hardy.
05:53Oh, nice.
05:54The counter by Morrison.
05:55A very unique and effective counter.
06:00What a shot.
06:01And the main difference is the face.
06:03The face, it could be over, but it's not.
06:06Sometimes a simple move delivered with enough bad intention
06:10and velocity can end the match.
06:12Certainly, I think it's changed this one.
06:14There's no doubt that a knee can knock a guy out.
06:17Look at the knee here.
06:18That's what I'm pointing out right there.
06:21Another cover!
06:22And another near fall.
06:23That running knee to the face is a knockout blow.
06:26Yeah, especially when your body is such a fine-tuned athletic machine
06:29as it is for John Morrison.
06:32Morrison, very proficient with his feet,
06:35has great flexibility,
06:37amazing balance,
06:39athleticism for this young man.
06:41He was a kid a couple years ago,
06:42everybody knew he had all the talent in the world.
06:44The big difference I see between this John Morrison
06:47and the old one, he's got genuine mean streak.
06:49Finally seems to like hurting people, causing pain.
06:53I think Morrison also has confidence.
06:55Confidence in everything he does inside the squared circle.
06:59And although it brings me great pain,
07:01causing me great pain to admit this,
07:03this tag team went...
07:05Oh, the Miz!
07:06It's an outstanding tag team,
07:08maybe the greatest revolutionary tag team
07:10in WWE since The Rockets.
07:13A counter by Jeff Hardy,
07:15right into that mule kick.
07:17And Morrison,
07:19that was well scouted.
07:21That was a beautiful counter.
07:23Man, nothing fancy about that.
07:25But the crash and burn,
07:27something we've said before,
07:29will be thrill-seeking Jeff Hardy.
07:32Now the question is,
07:33will Hardy be able to continue?
07:35We'll find that out when we come back.
07:39We're in the midst of an amazing one-on-one matchup
07:42here on Friday Night SmackDown.
07:44Jeff Hardy being punished by John Morrison.
07:47And before we go to the break,
07:49we saw Jeff Hardy, as we said then,
07:51we'll say it again, crash.
07:53Boom!
07:54And burn.
07:56Burn, baby, burn.
07:58Look at the impact.
07:59I was surprised, to be quite frank,
08:01that Jeff Hardy could find the fortitude
08:03to make it back in the ring.
08:04But find it, he did.
08:06Jim Ross and Nick Foley with you here on ringside.
08:08Thanks for bringing us into your home tonight
08:10here on Friday Night SmackDown.
08:12We certainly appreciate it.
08:13Jeff Hardy not appreciating
08:15John Morrison's aggression.
08:17But look at Hardy, back to a vertical base,
08:19looking to counter him back to this thing offensively.
08:22And Hardy again, going for everything,
08:26risk and reward,
08:27the cover by Morrison.
08:29And Morrison again,
08:31even with a cinch up on that leg,
08:33got another near fall.
08:34A cinch up on the leg and a hook of the wrist
08:36and still couldn't get the three count.
08:38Look at this.
08:40Jeff Hardy.
08:43Looking to whisper in the wind.
08:46Morrison, making his name
08:49as a phenomenal tag team wrestler,
08:51must have scouted Jeff Hardy
08:53very well in this singles matchup.
08:56And the maturation of John Morrison
08:59is extremely obvious.
09:01Morrison using the ropes
09:03because Hardy was there near the ropes.
09:05Morrison knows he has to break on four,
09:07that he'd be disqualified on five.
09:10He seems to be concentrating his offense
09:13in part on that left arm,
09:15maybe sensing a weakness there.
09:17We have had a rather chaotic night
09:19here tonight on Friday Night SmackDown.
09:21If you just joined us,
09:22there's a cover by Morrison.
09:25The former World's Heavyweight Champion,
09:27Edge, has had the most terrible week
09:32of his professional life,
09:33and we've seen a...
09:34I don't want to elaborate on it too much,
09:36but perhaps a philosophical difference
09:39between his field and...
09:40Yeah, I think all of us, unfortunately,
09:42are bearing witness to an emotional meltdown
09:45on the part of the Rated-R Superstar.
09:47It's a mission predicament
09:49for Jeff Hardy to deal with
09:51with John Morrison.
09:52Morrison, I thought, was going to go
09:54for the cross arm breaker.
09:55Bottom line, ladies and gentlemen,
09:57that's putting a great deal of pressure
09:58on the front of the elbow.
10:01Hardy had a quick one.
10:02Hardy used Morrison's own momentum
10:04to roll through the situation
10:06in predicament.
10:07You know, JR, back to Vickie Guerrero
10:09for just a moment.
10:10We see a vindictiveness
10:11about Vickie Guerrero every week,
10:13but it's the first time I've seen her
10:14take out any of her aggression
10:16on the man she loves, Edge.
10:19They were just...
10:20They were just in and out arguing.
10:22I mean, the general manager
10:24called Edge a fool.
10:25Yeah.
10:26With all due respect.
10:27But he was a fool.
10:29He came out here,
10:30destroyed an innocent victim,
10:32and bested us.
10:33And not even that did he seem
10:34to satiate the anger
10:36and hurt he feels.
10:39Well, I'll tell you what I think
10:40Vickie was referring to,
10:41that Edge is a fool
10:42for going to Monday Night Raw.
10:43But frankly, I didn't appreciate
10:45being escorted out of the arena
10:46by Hawkins and Ryder.
10:48I think it was his urgency.
10:49I think he was a fool
10:50for interrupting what was
10:51a genuine heartfelt moment
10:53on your part,
10:54really having a chance to address
10:55the great fans in Oklahoma.
10:57Right here in Oklahoma.
10:59And here on Friday Night SmackDown,
11:01that's the place to be right now.
11:03Maybe not for Jeff Hardy
11:04at this moment.
11:05And Jeff Hardy,
11:06he just got drafted a week ago
11:08from Raw to SmackDown.
11:13And Morrison...
11:15Jeff!
11:16Oh!
11:17Morrison, it seemed like
11:18that long pause,
11:20a little uncomfortable.
11:21You know, as we sit here
11:22and look at it,
11:23Morrison was posed a little bit
11:25too long in that turnbuckle.
11:26And Hardy had a time
11:27to process the information
11:29and make this counter.
11:30And it's an incredible counter.
11:32I was just thinking,
11:33look at that.
11:34Oh, the presence of mind
11:35to turn that into a mid-air
11:36powerbomb.
11:37And the power of Jeff Hardy.
11:39Morrison was in that
11:40proverbial no-man's land
11:42in mid-air.
11:43Where was he gonna go?
11:44He being Morrison,
11:46right into the arms
11:47of Jeff Hardy,
11:48a powerbomb.
11:49And now can Jeff Hardy
11:50begin to build the momentum
11:52to get Jeff Hardy
11:54back in the standings?
11:56It's all about momentum, too,
11:58isn't it, JR?
11:59No doubt about it.
12:01Mo can win you some matches.
12:04And Jeff Hardy...
12:06Jeff Hardy here.
12:07That's a Jeff Hardy
12:09trademark pinning combination.
12:13Man, these guys,
12:14every time that they lock up,
12:15they separate,
12:16you hold your breath,
12:17and one doesn't know
12:18what's gonna happen.
12:19There's the time!
12:21The whisper of the wind hits!
12:24Will it be enough?
12:25And John Morrison says
12:27emphatically,
12:28no, not this time.
12:29And Morrison showing
12:30an amazing competitive spirit.
12:32Not too many men I know of
12:33have ever kicked out
12:34of the whisper of the wind.
12:36Hardy looking to break on
12:38through to the other side.
12:39And a Pele kick!
12:41Man, that is an athletic maneuver.
12:43You talk about breaking on
12:44through the other side,
12:45that should do it right there.
12:47The hook of the leg
12:48from Jeff Hardy.
12:49And somewhere in Brazil,
12:51Pele is smiling.
12:53Oh!
12:54Beautiful bicycle kick!
12:55That's amazing.
12:56That's a heck of an
12:57athletic maneuver.
12:59And Hardy
13:00counters out.
13:04Facebuster powerbomb
13:06by Jeff Hardy.
13:09I believe Morrison's
13:10attempting to go for the
13:11moonlight drive there
13:12which we've seen before.
13:13Look out!
13:14Swan Tongue Bomb!
13:16Swan Tongue Bomb!
13:18Two!
13:19Three!
13:20Two!
13:26Jeff Hardy!
13:29We just witnessed
13:30one heck of a wrestling match
13:32here on Friday Night Smackdown
13:34between two of the most
13:36talented, youngest, brightest
13:38superstars in all of the WWE.
13:43Jeff Hardy
13:45making his Friday Night Smackdown
13:47debut since being traded
13:49from Monday Night Raw.
13:52What a debut it was
13:54defeating a very,
13:56very impressive
13:58John Morrison
13:59in a great singles matchup
14:00on Smackdown.
14:03Early in the match,
14:04Jeff has been quite a beating.
14:05Bam!
14:06Look at that!
14:07We've talked on many occasions
14:08about Jeff Hardy's
14:10resilience and his will
14:12to compete,
14:13to take chances,
14:15to crash and to burn,
14:17but to fight
14:18and survive
14:19what an amazing athletic move.
14:20And part of being a superstar
14:22is the ability to come back
14:23from the ashes
14:24as Jeff Hardy did.
14:25Big time move.
14:27It was all or nothing.
14:29The Hail Mary
14:30like Swan Tongue Bomb
14:32for Jeff Hardy
14:34making an impressive debut
14:36on Friday Night Smackdown.
14:38And ladies and gentlemen,
14:39speaking...
