00:00:00Previously, on the Amazing Race Celebrity Edition.
00:00:07Africa has been an emotional roller coaster.
00:00:10This is a moment we remember forever.
00:00:16Where challenging conditions left some teams like fish out of water.
00:00:20Think of crawling.
00:00:22And the biggest upset of the competition.
00:00:24Proud of how far we've come, but our time's up.
00:00:27Has given the underdogs a taste of victory.
00:00:30Pete and Bridget, you are the first team to check out.
00:00:33Brooke and Adam, you are the second team.
00:00:38Tonight, can the dark horses maintain their lead?
00:00:45As the top five head deep into Namibia.
00:00:48It's really giving me Lion King vibes out here.
00:00:51Teams will discover ancient cultures.
00:00:53How do you do this?
00:00:55Do you want to show me?
00:00:57In a landscape that will test them.
00:01:02I said it's a little to the right.
00:01:04Now a little to the left.
00:01:07And with the end in sight.
00:01:09Running blind right now.
00:01:11It's not looking too good.
00:01:12Every second matters.
00:01:14Still in it.
00:01:15I can smell Bo.
00:01:16You don't open until the fat boy sings.
00:01:56It's another beautiful day in Africa.
00:01:59And our five remaining teams are departing.
00:02:01In the order they arrived at the previous pit stop.
00:02:07Drive to Omandamba.
00:02:10In the heart of the mighty Erongo Mountains.
00:02:15We're off.
00:02:16We're off.
00:02:17We're off.
00:02:18We're off.
00:02:19We're off.
00:02:20We're off.
00:02:21We're off.
00:02:22We're off.
00:02:23We're off.
00:02:25G'day, g'day.
00:02:26G'day.
00:02:29120 million years in the making.
00:02:31This place is simply stunning.
00:02:33And you never have it all quite to yourself.
00:02:36You've got animals out there.
00:02:38And of course, the incredible sand people.
00:02:41One of the most ancient cultures on the planet.
00:02:44They are the original desert living specialists.
00:02:47With thousands of years of bush knowledge at their fingertips.
00:02:50They continue to thrive.
00:02:52This part of Africa is absolutely magic.
00:02:56Welcome to the ninth leg of the Amazing Race Australia.
00:03:03From coastal Swakopmund,
00:03:04teams are driving 200 kilometres inland to Omondumba.
00:03:08At the gates of the Nature Sanctuary,
00:03:10they'll find their first clue.
00:03:12There's also a speed bump for the team who came last
00:03:14in the previous non-elimination leg.
00:03:22Feeling good, but we have to pretend that we're not leading,
00:03:26that we're still trying to make up ground.
00:03:27There's five teams remaining,
00:03:29and unbelievably, one of those teams is the green team.
00:03:32I think we're still reeling a little bit
00:03:33from the Matildas not being here.
00:03:35Yeah, that was a heartbreaking loss.
00:03:37The room for error is getting smaller and smaller
00:03:39with the class teams.
00:03:42A bit like driving out west at Cobar.
00:03:45True, it's got a bit of that feel too.
00:03:47Yeah, but a distinct lack of kangaroos.
00:03:51I've travelled a lot, man,
00:03:52but this trip, this whole race, has been such a buzz.
00:03:58It's really given me Lion King vibes out here.
00:04:01The Pride Rock, baby.
00:04:02Oh, Zazu!
00:04:04Zazu! Look at that!
00:04:07Did you see him?
00:04:08Ha-ha-ha-ha!
00:04:10You just better be poopering your way up the mountain today, all right?
00:04:13Ha-ha-ha!
00:04:21Yes!
00:04:23Search for your next clue once through the Amundaba gate.
00:04:26Warning, speed bump ahead.
00:04:28OK. Let's go. Cool.
00:04:32All right. Let's go, Dopey.
00:04:33Right on.
00:04:39Even though we're in last place,
00:04:41we can't rush ourselves to do things.
00:04:43It's not going to help us. No.
00:04:45And realising those little mistakes that you make,
00:04:49how much time they cost,
00:04:51rather than getting it right the first time.
00:04:53Yeah.
00:04:56Here we go.
00:04:57Here it is. Speed bump.
00:05:01Dopey and Christian, not us.
00:05:04Not us.
00:05:06They are here.
00:05:10All right.
00:05:11It's got to be...
00:05:13Route info.
00:05:14Time for your bush initiation with a local game of bock-droll-spo-egg-it.
00:05:18The sport of dung spitting.
00:05:20The game of bock-droll-spo-egg-it, or dung spitting,
00:05:24is a unique tradition.
00:05:26It was invented by locals making fun with what was lying around.
00:05:31Teams must collect dung pellets the same size as the samples provided
00:05:36before placing these little nuggets in their mouths
00:05:39and then spitting them into the target circle.
00:05:42Once both team members have landed a piece of dung in the circle,
00:05:45the judge will give them their next clue.
00:05:48Oh, that sounds ominous.
00:05:49Wow.
00:05:50Let's go.
00:05:51Oh, let's go.
00:05:55Let's go.
00:05:59Let's go.
00:06:02Speed bump.
00:06:04Look at the models.
00:06:09Time for your bush initiation with a local game of bock-droll-spo-egg-it.
00:06:19Are they the pellets?
00:06:20There's the circle, so we've got to collect.
00:06:23It looks like poo.
00:06:25What kind of poo do you reckon this be?
00:06:26I've seen many animals around.
00:06:28Don't.
00:06:30Oh, they're rabbit poo.
00:06:32OK, let's go search.
00:06:33What a challenge.
00:06:34We turn up.
00:06:36They're big suckers.
00:06:37First we have to go and rummage through the wilderness.
00:06:40That looks like a freshie.
00:06:42For pieces of poo to stick in our mouth to spit them back out again.
00:06:47Oh, hang on.
00:06:48They're pretty hard, mate.
00:06:49Yeah?
00:06:50Yeah, they're hard.
00:06:51OK.
00:06:52Let's do it.
00:06:53Oh, yeah, they are.
00:06:54These are perfect.
00:06:55Oh, you've got to find these.
00:06:56There's heaps over here.
00:06:57Bro, they're not dung, that's...
00:06:59Bro, they're proper kio's, no way.
00:07:03They're...
00:07:05Here.
00:07:06There you go.
00:07:07Oh, I swear I said I'm not eating kio.
00:07:10We need little ones.
00:07:12We'll get dried ones.
00:07:13Yeah.
00:07:17There's a speed bump.
00:07:19I'm just here in front of us, Coco.
00:07:21Let's go.
00:07:22Come on, mate.
00:07:25Oh, they're right behind us.
00:07:26Oh, no.
00:07:28There it is, speed bump.
00:07:32I can't really move all that fast at the moment.
00:07:35I've had shin splints.
00:07:37It's kind of gone into my knee.
00:07:39I am in pain, but just trying to do my best to block that part out.
00:07:45Let's go.
00:07:46You look good in that photo, Christian.
00:07:48Thank you, boys.
00:07:49Very serious.
00:07:50All right, speed bump, mate.
00:07:53What have we got?
00:07:58Time for your bush initiation with a local game of bock drill sport.
00:08:02Let's go.
00:08:03Speed bump.
00:08:04OK.
00:08:05For coming last in the previous non-elimination leg,
00:08:07you have more poo work on your hands.
00:08:09You must fill the provided container with dung to continue racing.
00:08:12OK.
00:08:14Need the heavy shit.
00:08:15That's too big.
00:08:16That's too big.
00:08:17Try over here.
00:08:19Got some over here.
00:08:20They're good quality.
00:08:21These are good quality pellets.
00:08:23Good quality pellets, these.
00:08:25Is that a poo?
00:08:27It kind of looks like a poo, but...
00:08:29OK, want to try?
00:08:31We go over to the stadium, and we need to spit our dung into that circle.
00:08:38And it needs to remain in the circle.
00:08:39It can't bounce out.
00:08:44It tastes like tobacco, almost.
00:08:49Dung spitting.
00:08:50Oh, it bounced out.
00:08:51Did it?
00:08:52It's so much harder than it looks.
00:08:54I'm a little germaphobe, but I think it...
00:08:56I mean, that looks like...
00:08:57It just looks like a bit of...
00:08:59You're more confident than I am.
00:09:00...type grass.
00:09:01They're in my pocket, I guess.
00:09:02OK.
00:09:03My process for this, to get over the fact that I was going to put poo in my mouth,
00:09:07was to not really think about it.
00:09:10OK, that'd be good.
00:09:12That'd be good.
00:09:13I'll go.
00:09:14Pooty tongue.
00:09:18Oh, wow.
00:09:22I've got this, hang on.
00:09:25We have a competition at home.
00:09:27Who can spit their phlegm past the four metre cement?
00:09:30We don't want to spit on the cement.
00:09:31We don't want to spit on the cement.
00:09:32And we're, again, going to do it.
00:09:36You've got one.
00:09:37OK.
00:09:38This challenge, I was like, OK, I can do a golly.
00:09:41I know it's not the most ladylike thing,
00:09:43but we are from the country.
00:09:45We're spitting over the slab.
00:09:46We were spitting over the slab.
00:09:50The wind is taking it.
00:09:56He's got it.
00:09:57He's got it.
00:09:58He's got it.
00:09:59He's got it.
00:10:00He's got it.
00:10:01He's got it.
00:10:02He's got it.
00:10:03He's got it.
00:10:05That's in.
00:10:06Oh.
00:10:07There it is.
00:10:08It's in.
00:10:11All right.
00:10:12Where do we go?
00:10:14Ah, there we are, Dopey.
00:10:15Right-o.
00:10:16Rabbit poo.
00:10:17Little rabbit poo circular things.
00:10:18Circular.
00:10:19All right, let's find something.
00:10:20I'll hold something new.
00:10:24Do you know where we're heading to?
00:10:25Any idea?
00:10:27Judge?
00:10:28No, here.
00:10:29Christian?
00:10:30We're going to have to be a lot smarter today
00:10:32because we can't make up ground with speed.
00:10:34All right, we've got to fill this with dung.
00:10:37Yes, I'm here.
00:10:38But we first must complete our speed bump.
00:10:41Won't take us too long, mate.
00:10:42Then we can catch up.
00:10:45Yes.
00:10:46Oh, too fast.
00:10:49There it is.
00:10:50Oh.
00:10:53I figured out pretty quickly that the best poo to spit
00:10:56was the smaller, firmer poo.
00:10:59The bigger, lighter poo didn't go as far
00:11:01and took a lot more breath to try and get to that circle,
00:11:05which wasn't super close.
00:11:07You've always been a fan of the firmer stool, haven't you?
00:11:09Yeah, I like a firm stool.
00:11:12Hey, I got it in.
00:11:13Come on, Bridget.
00:11:14Yes.
00:11:15Come on, come on.
00:11:16What one did you...
00:11:17Oh, you got it too, hun.
00:11:18I got it.
00:11:19Come and have a look.
00:11:21Oh, my God.
00:11:22That's all that's spitting on the farm.
00:11:25There and there.
00:11:27And there.
00:11:29Yes!
00:11:30Thank you so much, mate.
00:11:31You're welcome.
00:11:32See you. Let's go.
00:11:34OK, here we go.
00:11:35Oh, detour.
00:11:36OK, detour.
00:11:37Weapons or water?
00:11:39A detour is a choice between two challenges,
00:11:42each with its own pros and cons.
00:11:44In this detour,
00:11:45our teams will encounter the extraordinary sand people.
00:11:48They rely on two things to sustain them in the desert.
00:11:52Weapons and water.
00:11:55Teams who choose weapons will meet a local hunter
00:11:58and follow his instructions.
00:12:01To walk quietly and barefoot to the hunting ground,
00:12:04they'll learn how to use a bow and arrow.
00:12:06Both team members must master this ancient survival skill
00:12:10and successfully hit the animal on the target.
00:12:13Once each person scores a bullseye,
00:12:15they'll receive their next clue.
00:12:19This here might quite possibly be
00:12:21the world's oldest water bottle and holder.
00:12:24And guess what it is?
00:12:25Ostrich egg.
00:12:26I'll go first.
00:12:30Still keeps the water cold.
00:12:33Teams who choose water
00:12:35will craft a water carrier from an ostrich egg.
00:12:38Taught by the local women,
00:12:40they will use traditional tools to replicate the sample carrier.
00:12:43They must include the holder and stopper,
00:12:46making sure not to crack the egg.
00:12:48It's delicate work,
00:12:50but if they succeed,
00:12:52they'll receive their next clue.
00:12:54Thank you for having us.
00:12:56And can I borrow that?
00:13:00Oh, it's your one, is it? Sorry, darling.
00:13:02Yeah, let's go.
00:13:03Let's go.
00:13:08Yes!
00:13:09Check.
00:13:10Check.
00:13:12Thank you very much. Thank you.
00:13:15Weapons or water?
00:13:16I'm no very good hunter, are you?
00:13:18Nah, let's do water.
00:13:19Water.
00:13:22Just getting the wind.
00:13:24I actually thought I'd be better at the dung spinning challenge.
00:13:27The wind was going on and it was just all...
00:13:29I had to line it up. It was full on.
00:13:36I just fully tongued the poo.
00:13:38All I hear is excuses.
00:13:40He was shit-out at it.
00:13:43There it is!
00:13:44Yes!
00:13:45Come on, baby.
00:13:46I don't know if that's... Is that poo?
00:13:48Yeah, it is a poo. It's just dried up.
00:13:52Oh, it's got it.
00:13:53Yes!
00:14:00I can't get it.
00:14:03Go!
00:14:04Yeah!
00:14:08Spin it!
00:14:11Yeah!
00:14:12Thank you, brother.
00:14:13Thank you, brother.
00:14:14Thank you, thank you.
00:14:15We're done with this.
00:14:19Detour.
00:14:20Weapons.
00:14:21Weapons.
00:14:23Oh, there's a good chunk over there too, mate.
00:14:25Yay.
00:14:27You don't need a runner.
00:14:28Oh, what's that?
00:14:33So I'm getting very, very frustrated.
00:14:37Because I can't spit poo.
00:14:39Like, don't keep...
00:14:41So don't keep trying...
00:14:42Like, obviously that doesn't work,
00:14:43so just keep trying to make different sounds
00:14:45and you'll find it eventually.
00:14:48Come on.
00:14:49Can't be spitting shit that gets us out.
00:14:56I can't even go halfway.
00:14:57And other people have left,
00:14:59they've gone to the next challenge,
00:15:00so we're in a little bit of trouble.
00:15:02Do you want some more?
00:15:03No, definitely.
00:15:15Hello!
00:15:16Hello!
00:15:17We're going to do weapons.
00:15:19Yay!
00:15:22I'm Adam.
00:15:23It's Brooke.
00:15:24Kru.
00:15:25Kru.
00:15:26Kru.
00:15:27Adam.
00:15:28Lovely to meet you.
00:15:29Lovely to meet you.
00:15:30Hello, kids.
00:15:35He's hoping.
00:15:36OK, let's go.
00:15:37Teach us.
00:15:40OK.
00:15:41Yeah.
00:15:47OK, yeah.
00:15:48I feel like we've been getting through the language barrier
00:15:51with...
00:15:52Really, with signals.
00:15:53Smiles.
00:15:54Smiling.
00:15:55A smiley face says a lot.
00:15:56And a thumbs up.
00:15:57Thumbs up.
00:16:02OK.
00:16:05So no shoes?
00:16:06Take them off.
00:16:07No shoes.
00:16:08OK.
00:16:09That's all right, we can do this.
00:16:10I'm excited about the idea of learning how to hunt
00:16:13from a tribesperson.
00:16:17OK.
00:16:28I'm having a blast, barefoot in the African bush,
00:16:32following the tribespeople, and we're being told,
00:16:35shh, look around.
00:16:38There's the monkeys.
00:16:40Right there.
00:16:41Hey, monkeys.
00:16:43Oh, my goodness.
00:16:44This is so cool.
00:16:45Look at that deer.
00:16:51Oh, look, there's the deer.
00:16:52OK, you've got to get it.
00:16:54Honey.
00:16:57I'd done a bit of hunting when I was growing up out of cobalt,
00:17:01but that was 30-odd years ago.
00:17:04I haven't done any since,
00:17:05and I have no need to shoot anything.
00:17:08And it was never with a bow.
00:17:15Oh, that's the line.
00:17:16OK.
00:17:17OK.
00:17:19Stay down.
00:17:20Down, down.
00:17:21Yeah.
00:17:22Yeah.
00:17:24Yes!
00:17:25Got it!
00:17:26Oh, get it!
00:17:27I got the deer.
00:17:28I got the deer.
00:17:29Yes!
00:17:30Wow, honey.
00:17:32You know what I'm finding with ads?
00:17:33You just can do everything.
00:17:37I've nicknamed my husband Jason Bourne.
00:17:41Seriously.
00:17:42Oh, yes, yes.
00:17:45Now it's my turn.
00:17:46Yes.
00:17:47Can you teach me?
00:17:48I'm going, oh, my God, this is up to me now.
00:17:50I'll jag it really quickly, or this could take forever.
00:17:55OK.
00:17:59You got this, hon.
00:18:03Oh.
00:18:05That was funny.
00:18:08Oh.
00:18:11Outside of supermarket shelves.
00:18:13We don't do a lot of hunting at home.
00:18:15We think we'll just play it safe and go to water.
00:18:18Pete.
00:18:19Bridget.
00:18:20Lovely to meet you.
00:18:25We actually have to build the water carrier,
00:18:27which is the ostrich egg in a leather case.
00:18:31And sticks holding the leather into the base.
00:18:36And obviously they carry it with big, long handles.
00:18:38And there's some detailings that we have to use some egg
00:18:41to create, like, a button.
00:18:43OK, let's have a look at our belongings first.
00:18:49They're obviously the needles.
00:18:51Hats and crests would probably be more my forte, usually.
00:18:56This doesn't screen, Bridgie.
00:18:59But we'll give it a whirl.
00:19:01You've usually got more modern equipment around you.
00:19:04My job is to get these little buttons made,
00:19:07which are quite finicky as well, which is not my thing.
00:19:10This is going to take some time, I think.
00:19:13Part of me feels like I'm in a National Geographic documentary
00:19:16and part of me feels like I'm in an episode of Breaking Bad.
00:19:19What's the Breaking Bad?
00:19:20Well, just chopping up this panel and stuff.
00:19:22I'm attempting to get, like, a little disc.
00:19:25They're laughing at me again.
00:19:27Everyone's laughing at me in Namibia.
00:19:29These women are sitting there, speaking their own tongue.
00:19:35Despite the fact there's an obvious language barrier,
00:19:37they were able to help out and understand
00:19:39most of what we were trying to ask of them.
00:19:43Yes.
00:19:48Ah, I thought of timing. Yeah.
00:19:51You must have super strength, because I was doing this
00:19:53and nothing was happening.
00:19:58Get me some bigger ones then, please.
00:20:00Some big ones that are a bit heavier and travel a bit further.
00:20:03Oh! Is that close?
00:20:05Close.
00:20:06Time penalty, I thought about that.
00:20:08No, we're not taking a time penalty.
00:20:10Oh, there's a huge clump up here, mate.
00:20:12We're still stuck in that speed bump.
00:20:15Maybe these ones here.
00:20:17We have to collect animal poo and fill it to the brim of this bowl
00:20:20before we can actually participate in this challenge.
00:20:24And we were there for a very long time.
00:20:27Happy?
00:20:29Thank you. Thank you, brother.
00:20:31Thank you. Thank you, mate.
00:20:33Thank you. Cool.
00:20:35All right, over we go.
00:20:37All right.
00:20:39I think the only good thing in us collecting poo
00:20:41was being able to hear and observe what the other teams were doing.
00:20:45Don't use any lips.
00:20:47So when we've completed the task,
00:20:49we're able to get there and know what we're doing.
00:20:55There we go!
00:20:57Good job.
00:21:01Yay!
00:21:03Yes!
00:21:05Well done, Thorpy.
00:21:07Yeah!
00:21:09Thank you, mate.
00:21:13Let's go water.
00:21:15Yep, water.
00:21:21I don't think anyone can push it that hard.
00:21:23It's more just the way it comes out.
00:21:25You need to just shoot out.
00:21:27Something wrong with my breathing or my tongue
00:21:29You can curl your tongue.
00:21:31Everyone can curl their tongue, but guess what?
00:21:35Time penalty's an option if we need.
00:21:37But we've got to take it soon if we're going to take it.
00:21:39Yeah, we can make up time elsewhere.
00:21:41I know it's an easy thing,
00:21:43but I don't reckon I can do it.
00:21:45Do you want to take the time penalty?
00:21:47Yeah. Sorry.
00:21:49That's all right. OK. We'll take the time penalty.
00:21:51If you take the time penalty, it will be 40 minutes on the mat.
00:21:53Going to take the time penalty.
00:21:55Oh, well.
00:21:57That's all right.
00:21:59Good rip, boy. Good rip.
00:22:01Good old detour.
00:22:03Weapons or water?
00:22:05Do weapons?
00:22:07Let's do weapons.
00:22:11Mate, you're doing good. You're just warming up.
00:22:17I think I'm out.
00:22:23Well, to be honest,
00:22:25we chose weapons because
00:22:27we're a couple of weapons ourselves.
00:22:29Ah, yeah.
00:22:31Yeah.
00:22:33You've got to be quiet.
00:22:39It's going to be hard for me to be quiet.
00:22:49Oh, shit.
00:22:51Yeah, my feet hurt.
00:22:53That dark area over there.
00:23:07Oh, shit.
00:23:09We're feeling confident.
00:23:11We're actually thinking we're actual warriors
00:23:13and we want to use these weapons
00:23:15and just smash it out.
00:23:17OK. OK. OK.
00:23:19Oh, shit.
00:23:21Too high, Lachs. Too high.
00:23:23Too high, too high.
00:23:25A bit low, a bit low, a bit low.
00:23:27Oh.
00:23:29You have a go.
00:23:31Have a go at it.
00:23:33You've bent all the arrows.
00:23:35No, I didn't.
00:23:37I thought, you know what,
00:23:39I'm going to kill this.
00:23:49Oh.
00:23:53Well, I remade
00:23:55myself the target.
00:23:59Yeah, it's not like...
00:24:01No, like this.
00:24:03Yeah, like that.
00:24:05I get it. OK.
00:24:07The detours is all about choices.
00:24:09Yeah, that's it.
00:24:11And you've got to pick what you think is right
00:24:13for your team.
00:24:15Oh, yeah.
00:24:17It might be something that's in your favour
00:24:19or it might be something that's not in your favour.
00:24:21And now I think we're coming towards
00:24:23the end of the race.
00:24:25The challenges are definitely getting more difficult.
00:24:29It's harder than it thought.
00:24:33Oh, shit.
00:24:35There goes another broken one.
00:24:43I think we need to work faster, though.
00:24:45Yeah, I think... Well, I've got those two done now.
00:24:51It's finicky, which is not my favourite thing.
00:24:53This challenge is taking
00:24:55longer than we thought.
00:24:57We have to build the water carrier,
00:24:59which is the ostrich egg
00:25:01in a leather case.
00:25:03It says Frank Green on the side.
00:25:05Hi.
00:25:07Hey, guys. We decided to do the water challenge
00:25:09because we thought
00:25:11it was less physical.
00:25:13The number one weakness for Thorpey
00:25:15is probably just as a result
00:25:17of different injuries that he's had
00:25:19that may limit him physically.
00:25:21So this gives us an opportunity
00:25:23to make up some ground.
00:25:25Are they already pre-cut?
00:25:27That's Thorpey from the Olympics.
00:25:29Gold medals.
00:25:31You don't reach the dizzying heights that Thorpey has
00:25:33without having this
00:25:35inner strength that just pushes you
00:25:37through pain barrier after pain barrier.
00:25:39Swimmer. Swim.
00:25:41Not like that, mate.
00:25:43His technique was a little bit better, sure.
00:25:45So beware the wounded champ.
00:25:49Hi.
00:25:51Is this the right way?
00:25:53How do you do this? Do you want to show me?
00:25:55We're trying to work through
00:25:57this particular challenge
00:25:59as efficiently as we can
00:26:01whilst completely
00:26:03soaking up what was a
00:26:05beautiful moment with the Khoisan
00:26:07people.
00:26:09Pretty incredible, huh?
00:26:13This is part of being
00:26:15on the Amazing Race is experiencing things
00:26:17that you never thought you would do.
00:26:19Namibia has
00:26:21now become a place that
00:26:23I want to be able to return to.
00:26:25I didn't care about the race in that
00:26:27moment. It felt really special
00:26:29to be accepted by these people in that
00:26:31moment and to have that moment
00:26:33with the Khoisan people is one
00:26:35that I'll treasure forever.
00:26:37Just get your footwork
00:26:39right. Get your footwork
00:26:41right and just really
00:26:43pop at it.
00:26:45You know what? Right now I
00:26:47am just, I think I'm just getting the technique
00:26:49right.
00:26:51Hi. Oscar.
00:26:55We chose hunting detour
00:26:57because the water ones sounded quite
00:26:59fiddly and that is one thing we've
00:27:01learned is that the fiddling things is not good
00:27:03for us. Take your shoes off.
00:27:05Okay.
00:27:07Oh, this is going to hurt.
00:27:09Barefoot. I've seen
00:27:11Tribesmen on TV but I've never actually
00:27:13met and gone hunting with a
00:27:15Tribesman. All of a sudden you go
00:27:17wow, this is interesting.
00:27:19Oh, we're looking for some with horns
00:27:21and a tail. And a tail. Alright.
00:27:23Hang on Oscar. Okay, that's all we're hunting.
00:27:25Ah, I get you. Okay.
00:27:29Oh, my feet
00:27:31are soft.
00:27:33We've got to walk
00:27:35on these paths which
00:27:37like standing on Lego.
00:27:39If I'm going to the local cafe or
00:27:41to the surf club, I wear
00:27:43thongs or shoes. You know,
00:27:45I've got a couple of old war injuries I
00:27:47suppose from footy so I just
00:27:49don't walk around in bare feet.
00:27:51Do you feel it? No. No.
00:27:53I've got hard feet.
00:27:55That's the problem. I've worn around
00:27:57bare, walked around bare feet for about
00:27:5920 years.
00:28:01Because of your soft, privileged feet
00:28:03we can't get anywhere.
00:28:05Shh.
00:28:07You're going to scare the animals.
00:28:09I am doing
00:28:11one kilometre an hour I reckon Oscar.
00:28:13You're hitting negatives at some point.
00:28:15And we've got a big time penalty
00:28:17at the end which we need to serve so
00:28:19we know that we need to get in front
00:28:21of other teams by at least 30 minutes.
00:28:23It started to add a bit of pressure and
00:28:25a bit of panic.
00:28:27We can hear them.
00:28:31Can you just see how these are tied up?
00:28:33That shouldn't be that hard to just
00:28:35have a look. The two ends go through the same slit
00:28:37and cross over each other.
00:28:39Being married for 21 years
00:28:41we know what each other's good at so
00:28:43there's no point two people trying to
00:28:45have their hands in an ostrich egg
00:28:47harness. I've always said that.
00:28:51Judge.
00:28:53Our water carrier.
00:28:57Thank you so much.
00:28:59Yeah.
00:29:01Thanks Petey boy.
00:29:03Well done.
00:29:05Rick Marker. Head to the animal research
00:29:07station to work with the conservationists
00:29:09on their duties.
00:29:11When the African sun goes down
00:29:13the wildlife comes out.
00:29:15In this challenge teams
00:29:17will help researchers monitor
00:29:19animal movements on the reserve.
00:29:21Teams will catch a lift to the animal research
00:29:23centre with our
00:29:25watch trail cameras from the previous evening.
00:29:27Using a reference
00:29:29they must identify 10 animals that visited
00:29:31the reserve at night.
00:29:33And with over 17 species
00:29:35of deer alone, attention
00:29:37to detail is vital.
00:29:39If teams can correctly identify
00:29:41all 10 animals in the footage
00:29:43they'll receive their next clue.
00:29:45Exciting, let's go.
00:29:53Oh, closer.
00:29:55Closer.
00:29:57Approaching the wild
00:29:59bam.
00:30:01Tonight we feast.
00:30:03He looks like a
00:30:05walking iguana.
00:30:09Okay.
00:30:15Nope, wrong way.
00:30:17The pressure is
00:30:19so intense
00:30:21in this race, especially when
00:30:23you have to do it on your own
00:30:25to get the next clue.
00:30:27Intensify that when you're in a race and you're going
00:30:29will I be able to do it? Will I be able to pull back
00:30:31a bow and arrow? These things that
00:30:33we're not doing every day and it really
00:30:35is that thing of digging deep and
00:30:37going, I just can't give up.
00:30:39Oh well, I've got to keep going until I get it.
00:30:47Yes!
00:30:49You're joking!
00:30:51Yes!
00:30:53You helped me!
00:30:55Thank you
00:30:57kitties. We're doing a dance.
00:30:59We're doing a dance.
00:31:01We're doing a dance.
00:31:03I got it, I got it.
00:31:07You're funny, I like you.
00:31:11Yes! Thank you.
00:31:13Okay.
00:31:15Head to the animal research station
00:31:17to work with the conservationists on their
00:31:19duties. Let's go.
00:31:31Good?
00:31:35I find it fascinating that something that is
00:31:37so fragile is
00:31:39carrying something that is literally
00:31:41the difference between life and
00:31:43death.
00:31:45Check please, check.
00:31:47Okay.
00:31:49Here we are.
00:31:51Here we are. Thank you.
00:31:53Bye.
00:31:55Bye.
00:31:573, 2, 1, go!
00:31:59Head to the animal research station to work
00:32:01with the conservationists on their duties.
00:32:03Okay. Let's go!
00:32:05Let's go this way.
00:32:07Yeah!
00:32:13He said it's
00:32:15a little to the right.
00:32:17Now a little to the left.
00:32:23Good start, good start.
00:32:27Oh, it's a bit low.
00:32:29Like that.
00:32:33Up? Up.
00:32:35Up a bit here. I used to have nerf guns
00:32:37and I would always shoot my sisters, so I'm not a
00:32:39bad shot actually.
00:32:41Yes!
00:32:43Yes!
00:32:45Good, good, good.
00:32:51Yes!
00:32:53Got him!
00:32:55Got him.
00:33:03Great teacher.
00:33:07Two big hunters.
00:33:09Good rip. Here we go.
00:33:11Head to the animal research station to work with
00:33:13conservationists. Wow. Let's go.
00:33:15Bam Bam and Logan were there
00:33:17before us and they are still there
00:33:19and we are off.
00:33:21Come on, Lokes. We need this now. We need to get it.
00:33:23This one's a kiss of death.
00:33:27We kept snapping arrows,
00:33:29we kept breaking arrows, we kept missing
00:33:31arrows. This is the rough challenge.
00:33:35This is hard, man.
00:33:37This is very hard.
00:33:41There's no recce now.
00:33:51Hello!
00:33:53Welcome to Amadumba. Thank you.
00:33:55This is the ancient part of Namibia.
00:33:57We arrived at the challenge and we're neck and neck with Brook and Adam.
00:33:59Let's go. Hop in. Let's go.
00:34:01So, we feel like we're
00:34:03equal first, basically.
00:34:05Which is actually surprising.
00:34:07It just shows that we can potentially win this.
00:34:09Brookie, you're right there.
00:34:11Hello.
00:34:13So now we're heading to an animal research station
00:34:15where we're going to look at animals
00:34:17from that morning in the area
00:34:19and identify those animals using a handbook
00:34:21they've given us.
00:34:27G'day, g'day.
00:34:29Welcome to our
00:34:31animal research station.
00:34:33Thanks for having us.
00:34:35We got the footage this morning.
00:34:37The animals can re-watch
00:34:39the video as many times, but you can't
00:34:41pause the video.
00:34:43But we can just keep playing.
00:34:45Okay, let's do this.
00:34:47Let's do this, team.
00:34:49It is a bit like
00:34:51being back at school, isn't it?
00:34:53It is. It feels pretty much like being back at school.
00:34:55And I was never back at school.
00:34:57I just couldn't sit still. I struggled.
00:34:59I used to deliberately get kicked out of class
00:35:01so I could go and play guitar in the hallway.
00:35:03But right now, we're in front.
00:35:05So we can't slack off here.
00:35:07We've just got to keep going.
00:35:09That's a...
00:35:11That's a honey badger.
00:35:13Just be quiet.
00:35:15They're over there. We don't want to give them any clues.
00:35:17This challenge
00:35:19we think is going to be pretty easy.
00:35:21Some animals are obviously very easy
00:35:23to recognise. Elephants, lions, zebras.
00:35:25But then when you start getting to the nitty-gritty
00:35:27of springboks, impalas.
00:35:29Is that a deer? Is it an impala?
00:35:31And there's all different kinds of breeds.
00:35:33You're looking at the markings on faces
00:35:35and stripes on spots.
00:35:37Noah couldn't recognise this many animals.
00:35:41It's a really dark
00:35:43vision.
00:35:45Hurry up.
00:35:47Come on.
00:35:49Come on.
00:35:55We thought we were hunters.
00:35:57I think we've just got to stick to the gathering
00:35:59because hunting is not our
00:36:01strong point today.
00:36:05Keep an eye on the prize.
00:36:09Yes. It's got to be it.
00:36:11It has to be.
00:36:15If we'd joined the tribe
00:36:17I wouldn't be this big.
00:36:21I'd be missing a lot of calories.
00:36:23Now my turn.
00:36:27Now I've got to get this.
00:36:31Come on.
00:36:41This is hard, man.
00:36:43Let's go. Take your time.
00:36:45Just get in there.
00:36:49Got it.
00:36:51Yeah.
00:36:57Yes.
00:37:05Good job.
00:37:07We're out of info.
00:37:11Head to the animal research station
00:37:13to work with the conservationist.
00:37:17Conservationist.
00:37:21I've got shit in my mouth.
00:37:29I've never had a body like this though.
00:37:31These are hard.
00:37:35Is it?
00:37:37It's a nice one.
00:37:39That looks like a cat.
00:37:41It's a guinepig.
00:37:43A large spotted guinepig.
00:37:47Welcome to our animal research station.
00:37:49Good to meet you, mate.
00:37:51How are you?
00:37:53Research station.
00:37:55Thank you, mate.
00:37:57Is there a clue or what does it say here?
00:38:03All right.
00:38:09Hopefully
00:38:11the fact we're both pretty good boys at school
00:38:13is going to come into play here.
00:38:15So the elephant.
00:38:17We're good on the elephant.
00:38:19There's only one type here.
00:38:21I did most of, well, a lot of mine at school.
00:38:23I did a lot from home.
00:38:25Several.
00:38:27Because of my swimming career,
00:38:29there was a period where I was homeschooled.
00:38:31I missed 102 of 200 days at school.
00:38:33I was flying around the world,
00:38:35training, trying to fit this all in.
00:38:37You know, I was doing exams on planes
00:38:39and things like that.
00:38:41That is a small spotted guinepig.
00:38:44We've kind of made up some time
00:38:46while we're here at this road.
00:38:48There's an opportunity.
00:38:50We're moving through this pretty quickly, too.
00:38:52Don't be so confident.
00:38:54Check.
00:38:56The tricky thing about this challenge is
00:38:58they're not telling you what you got right and what you got wrong.
00:39:00This is that you are wrong.
00:39:02Getting closer.
00:39:04Getting closer.
00:39:06Check.
00:39:08Please.
00:39:10So every time you change something,
00:39:12you're changing the right one.
00:39:14So everyone's just changing one thing and checking.
00:39:16Check.
00:39:18Check, please.
00:39:20Still incorrect.
00:39:22So that's unfortunately incorrect.
00:39:24Check.
00:39:26Still incorrect, sorry.
00:39:28Is it on there at all?
00:39:30There's a lot of checking going on,
00:39:32a lot of failing.
00:39:34I'm thinking about taking my kids out of school after this.
00:39:36It might be a comedy parlor.
00:39:38I reckon it is.
00:39:40Check.
00:39:46Come on, come on.
00:39:48OK.
00:39:50Come on, teacher.
00:39:52Come on, teacher.
00:39:54Yes!
00:39:58You're my favourite teacher.
00:40:00Thank you, mate.
00:40:02It wasn't a spring box.
00:40:04It was the Impala.
00:40:06We went through every Impala-looking thing.
00:40:08Impalas, spring box, stein box, all of those,
00:40:10they're just deers that are wearing different hats.
00:40:14The answer's here.
00:40:16Sucked in.
00:40:18Good job.
00:40:20Brute info.
00:40:22Travel to Spitzkoppe National Park
00:40:24and scale the boulders of the dome
00:40:26to find your next clue.
00:40:28Teams will drive to Spitzkoppe National Park,
00:40:30get an entry ticket,
00:40:32then find the geological wonder,
00:40:34the dome.
00:40:36They must scale this enormous granite boulder
00:40:38and at the top,
00:40:40they'll find their next clue.
00:40:42Let's go.
00:40:44Yep.
00:40:46OK.
00:40:48Good job, hun.
00:40:50Oh, that was tough.
00:40:52Impalas.
00:40:54They nearly had us stitched up, didn't they?
00:40:56Conservationist.
00:40:58Yes, for conservating.
00:41:00Conserving.
00:41:02Conspiracy.
00:41:04Yeah.
00:41:08Thank you, my brother.
00:41:10You can't pause the video,
00:41:12but you can watch it again and again.
00:41:14You can watch it again and again.
00:41:16Again and again and again.
00:41:18There's a few hyenas running around
00:41:20in Mount Dewitt.
00:41:22Old mate over here wasn't the best student.
00:41:24His report card
00:41:26used to always say,
00:41:28uh, easily distracted.
00:41:30See you, man.
00:41:32And distracting others.
00:41:34Bridge was the cheerleader.
00:41:36One that would never look at you.
00:41:44Is that a wild dog?
00:41:46Jackal.
00:41:48Check.
00:41:54Oh.
00:41:56Don't joke with me.
00:41:58Thank you. Thank you very much.
00:42:00Well done. You're a hard teacher,
00:42:02but fair, and that was
00:42:04enthralling lesson.
00:42:06Pete would have been a teacher's pet.
00:42:08Scale the boulders of the dome
00:42:10to find your next clue.
00:42:12This is climbing. Let's go.
00:42:14Let's do it.
00:42:16What's that?
00:42:18Incorrect.
00:42:20Wrong.
00:42:22You spelled hyena wrong.
00:42:24Ha ha.
00:42:26Just distracting people,
00:42:28because...
00:42:30Camera G. Waterhole.
00:42:32Camera G.
00:42:34See how the eyes go black and down?
00:42:36Yeah.
00:42:38But the ears...
00:42:40It's a leopard.
00:42:42Check.
00:42:44Please.
00:42:46You know what I got at school?
00:42:48I got the cane.
00:42:50Still wrong.
00:42:52Do we know which bit?
00:42:54I'd rather have six of the best canes
00:42:56on my bum, on my hand, wherever you wanted to,
00:43:02than going through this challenge.
00:43:04It was, again, so frustrating.
00:43:06On top of all this,
00:43:08we've got a time penalty
00:43:10at the end, which we need to serve.
00:43:12The pressure's on.
00:43:14Come on.
00:43:16Do something.
00:43:20Don't miss a moment of the action
00:43:22Yeah!
00:43:24With full episodes of The Amazing Race
00:43:26Celebrity Edition
00:43:28on TenPlay.
00:43:40I just don't know what we're doing wrong.
00:43:42This challenge
00:43:44is a bit harder than what we thought.
00:43:46We've fallen a bit behind.
00:43:48We're at the back of the pack,
00:43:50me and Christian and Bam and Logan.
00:43:52We're still in it.
00:43:54So we just need to smash it over.
00:43:56That's the honey badger.
00:43:58Check, please, mate.
00:44:00There we go, Timmy.
00:44:02All there, mate.
00:44:04Let's have a look.
00:44:06It's correct.
00:44:10Good work.
00:44:12Good rip, boy.
00:44:14Travel to Spitzkopier National Park
00:44:16and scale the boulders of the dome
00:44:18to find your next clue.
00:44:20Let's go.
00:44:24This has been the best adventure.
00:44:26It really has been.
00:44:28Also, I want to get as far as we can
00:44:30in this race.
00:44:32I can smell it. It's so close.
00:44:36Aha, honey.
00:44:38We found it.
00:44:40We need to purchase our tickets.
00:44:42Hello.
00:44:44Hi.
00:44:46Are we at the right place?
00:44:50Welcome to Spitzkopier.
00:44:52I will explain the map for you.
00:44:54We need to go to the dome.
00:44:56You found your way in there.
00:44:58There you go.
00:45:02Wow, look at this.
00:45:06What a day.
00:45:08This is insane.
00:45:10Let's go, honey.
00:45:12Let's go, honey.
00:45:14We're in front.
00:45:16There's no cars around.
00:45:18Oh, my God, look at this.
00:45:20Beautiful.
00:45:22We're going holy hell.
00:45:24Looking ahead of what we had to do,
00:45:26which was walking that mountain.
00:45:28It was quite overwhelming,
00:45:30but it was also quite breathtakingly beautiful.
00:45:32Come on.
00:45:34Feel the burn.
00:45:36You know what?
00:45:38If I had a treadmill,
00:45:40I'd never have it this far inclined.
00:45:42No, why would you?
00:45:44Oh, my gosh, hang on.
00:45:46Oh, yeah, heart rate's up.
00:45:48It's just there.
00:45:50Quick breather?
00:45:52Yep.
00:45:54We've had moments
00:45:56throughout this whole entire time
00:45:58we've been here on The Amazing Race
00:46:00pinching ourselves going...
00:46:02We're in Africa.
00:46:04We're in Africa.
00:46:06We've made sure a few times
00:46:08that we've just stopped and taken it in.
00:46:10Oh, my gosh.
00:46:12This is so cool.
00:46:16Let's do it together.
00:46:18Yes.
00:46:20Yes.
00:46:22We got it.
00:46:24We're on a mountain.
00:46:26It's very high.
00:46:28We're unfit.
00:46:30What have we got here?
00:46:32Root info.
00:46:34This is a natural wonder
00:46:36known as The Bridge.
00:46:38In search for your next pit stop.
00:46:42There are eight wonders of the world
00:46:44and the Spitzkoppe Bridge in Namibia
00:46:46should be the ninth.
00:46:48Formed more than 100 million years ago,
00:46:50this granite rock spans almost 30 metres.
00:46:52Sculpted by the harsh weather conditions
00:46:54that make this landscape unique,
00:46:56this gravity-defying curiosity
00:46:58is the magnificent pit stop
00:47:00for the ninth leg
00:47:02of the Amazing Race Australia.
00:47:04Hurry, the last team to check in
00:47:06may be eliminated.
00:47:08Oh, let's go down the hill.
00:47:10The helliers have just pulled up.
00:47:12Should be coming up on your left.
00:47:16Brooke and Adam
00:47:18are our biggest competition now.
00:47:20They just seem to get every challenge,
00:47:22first or second go,
00:47:24and then they're off and racing.
00:47:26We're thinking,
00:47:28surely this may be the last challenge
00:47:30Oh, please, let it be the last challenge.
00:47:32Let's just make one last push up this mountain.
00:47:34This is going to be a hard climb.
00:47:36A steeper one, this one, I think.
00:47:38We'll be right.
00:47:42We're still a bit ahead of these other teams.
00:47:44We are. Two teams we're in front of.
00:47:46Yep. Every minute counts.
00:47:48We want to win.
00:47:50If we're in something, we're in it to win it.
00:47:52We're racing the clock.
00:47:54We've still got to serve that time penalty.
00:47:56Oh, that might hurt us.
00:47:58We just need to get everything done quickly.
00:48:00Yep.
00:48:02Sit and wait.
00:48:04And then we sit and wait.
00:48:06Looks a bit like all the road.
00:48:12Spotted honey, right?
00:48:14Yep.
00:48:18We're very much of the mindset of
00:48:20it's less about winning and more about
00:48:22not coming last.
00:48:24100% honey badger.
00:48:28Yep.
00:48:32Happy?
00:48:36Oh, wow.
00:48:38Nice surprise. Thank you.
00:48:40Appreciate it.
00:48:42Let's go to the boulders of the dome
00:48:44to find your next clue.
00:48:48If this is not it,
00:48:50well then,
00:48:52my schooling days is done.
00:48:58Congrats.
00:49:00Thank you, brother.
00:49:06Let's go to the boulders of the dome.
00:49:08Come on.
00:49:12There's a clue there.
00:49:14Looks like there's four left.
00:49:16We're second at this point.
00:49:18Hurry, the last team to check in
00:49:20may be eliminated. Let's go.
00:49:22We are still hot on Brooke and Adam's tails.
00:49:24We are in this.
00:49:26Okay.
00:49:28Let's do this.
00:49:30A little zigzag.
00:49:32You're doing good.
00:49:34Yeah, honey. We've got to find Beau.
00:49:36Plan four, don't ruin your race now.
00:49:38I think for a while we were like
00:49:40just hoping to survive and now we're
00:49:42in it to win it.
00:49:44I think that's what the amazing race is about,
00:49:46actually discovering that you can do more
00:49:48than you thought you could.
00:49:50We've got the bridge, it's on this road.
00:49:52I can smell Beau. Oh, yeah.
00:49:54Only one team ahead of us.
00:49:56Quickly. Go, go, go, go.
00:50:08Benjamin, so you live here?
00:50:10Yeah. Namibia? Namibia.
00:50:12Namibia. I love Africa so much.
00:50:14Have you been to Australia?
00:50:16No. If you come, let me know.
00:50:18Sure. Okay. Yeah. I'll look after you.
00:50:20Yeah.
00:50:22Oh, my God. I see it.
00:50:24There, I see the flag.
00:50:26Good job. Good job.
00:50:28It does look like it's a little bit
00:50:30around. We may see a bridge.
00:50:32Brooke and Adam are ahead
00:50:34of us. We're pretty optimistic that we can
00:50:36catch them. We may well bloody win
00:50:38this thing.
00:50:40There's a little bridge over there.
00:50:42Oh, yeah. That looks like it'll be a bridge.
00:50:44Come on.
00:50:46Teams are coming.
00:50:48Oh, my God. Here it is.
00:50:50They've hidden him today.
00:50:52Hidden him. He's hiding.
00:50:54Oh, Beau. Oh, Beau, where did you go?
00:50:56We're surprising ourselves constantly.
00:50:58We're good. We want to win
00:51:00this for rural aid. Oh, there's another
00:51:02flag. Another flag.
00:51:04Can you hear them? Yeah.
00:51:06Can you see them?
00:51:10Can you see anyone?
00:51:12I think three. You all right? Yeah.
00:51:14What colour is it?
00:51:16Quick. Oh, my God.
00:51:18Oh, what a spot. Wow.
00:51:20Oh, my gosh.
00:51:24Ah.
00:51:26Hello. Welcome
00:51:28to Spitzkörper.
00:51:30Thank you for having us.
00:51:32It's great to be here.
00:51:34Brooke and Adam, you are
00:51:36the first team to check in.
00:51:38Good job.
00:51:40At the front. I don't know what happened.
00:51:42Every time we head to the outback,
00:51:44you guys find your grooves, though.
00:51:46We do. We are more comfortable in the bush.
00:51:48We are, actually, especially on dirt roads.
00:51:50It's kind of our thing. Hotel upgrade.
00:51:52Oh, I forgot about that.
00:51:54Yes. It's great to see you smiling.
00:51:56Every time I see you, your smile gets bigger.
00:51:58Keep smiling, and I'll see you again very, very
00:52:00soon. Dad, there's Beau.
00:52:02We're coming first.
00:52:04It's proof that this
00:52:06race isn't just about one thing.
00:52:08We've always said from the beginning
00:52:10of this race, just don't come
00:52:12last. But now we want to come first.
00:52:14Bye.
00:52:18Just another little challenge.
00:52:20Just to get through.
00:52:24I see Beau.
00:52:28Oh, what a great bridge.
00:52:34Welcome to Spitzkörper.
00:52:38Pete and Bridget, you
00:52:40are the second team to check in.
00:52:46Nice celebration. Just a little nod
00:52:48of approval. It's business end.
00:52:50It's business end. Great.
00:52:52Sorry.
00:52:58It was a long, exhausting day. It really was.
00:53:00But to finish second,
00:53:02we're stoked. We're now
00:53:04in the top four. Game face on.
00:53:06Let's get this done.
00:53:08Well done. Really good.
00:53:10Keep moving.
00:53:22It's time to go to reception.
00:53:24Hello.
00:53:26How are you?
00:53:28How are you? Welcome to Spitzkörper.
00:53:30So reception, this is where you are.
00:53:32This is where the rest of your group is.
00:53:36Good on you, Dale. Bye.
00:53:38We've still got to serve that time penalty.
00:53:40So every minute is crucial.
00:53:42There's the marker here.
00:53:44Here's the marker.
00:53:46Put your shoes on.
00:53:48Leave them.
00:53:50In a race like this, anything
00:53:52can happen at any point.
00:53:54Shit.
00:54:00At the end of the day, it's the team
00:54:02getting to the pit stop together.
00:54:04Push through this. I've got to push through this.
00:54:06Little, little steps and
00:54:08just get to the end.
00:54:10Enjoy it for a second.
00:54:22How good.
00:54:24Got a bit of an energy boost
00:54:26knowing that we're ahead of two other teams.
00:54:28Make your way to the natural wonder
00:54:30known as the bridge and search for a bow
00:54:32The last team to check in may be eliminated.
00:54:34Let's go.
00:54:36No one's here for fourth or fifth.
00:54:38We're third, don't be.
00:54:40We just need to get here. We know there's a time penalty.
00:54:44The biggest thing that's
00:54:46differed from my previous idea
00:54:48of what the Amazing Race was all about
00:54:50is that no matter where you
00:54:52are, you are always in with a chance.
00:54:58Pretty much running blind right now.
00:55:00Do not know where we are going.
00:55:02It's not looking too good.
00:55:06I think we're in last position.
00:55:08No wrecking now.
00:55:10We want to bring the $100,000 back
00:55:12and put it into the community.
00:55:16Head on over to the fat boy's scene.
00:55:20We're third, don't be.
00:55:22We just need to get here. We know there's a time penalty.
00:55:26We only have five teams left
00:55:28before the finale.
00:55:30These teams, they might get upset.
00:55:32We've been away a long time.
00:55:34Do you get emotional?
00:55:36Do you cry much?
00:55:38Not much?
00:55:40Let's go see Bowie.
00:55:48We've got a team now.
00:55:54Bowie!
00:55:56Billy and Oscar,
00:55:58you are the third team to arrive.
00:56:00However, because
00:56:02you did not complete the spitting challenge,
00:56:04you will serve a 40-minute
00:56:06penalty.
00:56:08Time starts now, boys.
00:56:10Please be seated.
00:56:12You could be out of this
00:56:14great game, the Amazing Race, because I
00:56:16can't spit poo. Imagine going back
00:56:18home. How'd you go?
00:56:20I was alright, except I can't spit
00:56:22poo. That's what got us.
00:56:24Exactly, that's what got us.
00:56:26Poo would be our downfall on the race,
00:56:28and we're just hoping that Thorpey
00:56:30and Christian and them and Logan have
00:56:32gotten lost.
00:56:34Definitely falling behind here.
00:56:36So, it's not
00:56:38looking too good
00:56:40at the moment.
00:56:42You know,
00:56:44when times get hard, obviously we think of our family,
00:56:46but we're here to represent, and we're in this
00:56:48to win for our charities.
00:56:50We're here to take that $100,000
00:56:52to Shrek and put it back into
00:56:54the community. We've just got to get out there
00:56:56and have a good red-hot crack.
00:56:58There's always
00:57:00so much that can change
00:57:02in the final minutes
00:57:04and hours of each race,
00:57:06and we've watched a lot of good quality
00:57:08teams get eliminated. We need
00:57:10to really focus on what we're doing.
00:57:12We know that we can't afford to make any mistakes.
00:57:14I want to be in the final,
00:57:16not only for myself, but for
00:57:18Christian, and to be able to
00:57:20deliver a big, fat check
00:57:22to Reach Out, and for more
00:57:24people to know exactly
00:57:26what Reach Out does.
00:57:28We're going right up here? Left, right?
00:57:30No, I feel like we're going the wrong way for that.
00:57:44Hello, hi. Hello. Hi.
00:57:46Welcome to Skitsko Bay. Thank you.
00:57:48So currently, this is where you guys
00:57:50are. Yes. Yes.
00:57:52Don't get lost. Thank you. Thank you.
00:57:54You're welcome.
00:57:56Now we're on
00:57:58track. We're heading off to
00:58:00conquer this dome.
00:58:04Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Yes, he did
00:58:06used to be a professional athlete.
00:58:08Great radio host, too.
00:58:10Big fan of the show.
00:58:12Thank you, bro.
00:58:18Alright, let's
00:58:20go. We're willing to do anything to make
00:58:22it into the grand final. Let's go, Lokes.
00:58:26We've left our family behind.
00:58:28Logan's never spent
00:58:30this time away from his kids.
00:58:32All day, Lokes.
00:58:44Keep pushing, keep pushing, keep pushing.
00:58:46We're here to show our
00:58:48kids and our community that
00:58:50if you have a crack, you can get
00:58:52it done. There is more
00:58:54to life than just staying in one place
00:58:56and being happy with what you've got.
00:58:58We've got this last bit to stay in the game.
00:59:00We are not going to
00:59:02lose. We are not. This is
00:59:04not an option.
00:59:06Make your way to the natural
00:59:08wonder known as the bridge
00:59:10and search for your next pit stop.
00:59:12Hurry. The last team to check in
00:59:14may be eliminated.
00:59:16Lokes, there was one more clue in the box.
00:59:18That means another team hasn't come.
00:59:22These races have got no respect.
00:59:24You know what I mean? You've got to learn it at
00:59:26home. Look at this. I only got
00:59:28one of these. They can't even
00:59:30get me a bloody spare, Matt. We've got a time
00:59:32penalty. It's a long wait.
00:59:34I'm not a patient person.
00:59:36Am I, Oskar? No, you are not.
00:59:38It's not you. I know.
00:59:40But I've tried to be a patient person in this
00:59:42race. The moon looks like a pupil
00:59:44in the eye.
00:59:48We're rushing
00:59:50to the pit stop.
00:59:52Last
00:59:54or not.
00:59:56I love you. This is what we do it for.
00:59:58I love you too, bro.
01:00:00I'm sorry.
01:00:02Let's go, Lokes.
01:00:06Pit stop here.
01:00:08There's two more teams left.
01:00:10It's getting pretty emotional here.
01:00:12All day, Lokes. Just push.
01:00:14Nearly there.
01:00:16Come on. No one come. Come on.
01:00:18Come on, time. Go quicker.
01:00:20And then we see
01:00:22some movement.
01:00:24Let's go, Lokes.
01:00:26We think, oh no.
01:00:32Welcome to Spetskoppe.
01:00:34Thank you, brother.
01:00:36Bam Bam and Logan,
01:00:38you are the fourth team to arrive.
01:00:40But you are the third team to check in.
01:00:42We good? You're good.
01:00:48So we're safe?
01:00:50You are safe, brother. You don't believe me.
01:00:52They don't trust me.
01:00:54You are safe.
01:00:58I've got nothing for you, mate.
01:01:00No surprises today.
01:01:02You deserve a rest. See you again soon.
01:01:04Good to see you.
01:01:06Look at your shirt again.
01:01:08Bro.
01:01:10You always get a lot of stuff on my favourite shirt.
01:01:12Sorry, Lokes.
01:01:14A lot can happen on this race.
01:01:16And we're just hoping that
01:01:18Thor being Christian don't also make their way up
01:01:20onto the mat because then we're done.
01:01:26Did you read that sign just then?
01:01:28No. I couldn't read it.
01:01:30I hope it wasn't a left turn.
01:01:36Mate, I've got no idea. I'm really hoping
01:01:38we're not the last team here.
01:01:40Billy and Oscar have a time penalty.
01:01:42That could be something that could save us from being eliminated.
01:01:44We're not ready to go home yet.
01:01:46The pressure's on.
01:01:48It's agonising.
01:01:50It's slow.
01:01:52It's like watching paint dry.
01:01:54We're just hoping that Thor being Christian
01:01:56don't also make their way up onto the mat.
01:02:06Billy and Oscar, please step back on the mat.
01:02:08Come on, Oscar.
01:02:14Here we are.
01:02:16Here we go.
01:02:18Billy and Oscar,
01:02:20after serving your penalty,
01:02:22you are the fourth team to check in.
01:02:24Well done. Still alive.
01:02:26Safe.
01:02:28You don't want to go home, mate. You're not ready to go home.
01:02:30Not ready yet. I ain't done.
01:02:32You ain't done. I ain't done yet.
01:02:34It feels
01:02:36amazing not to be eliminated.
01:02:38We thought we were done.
01:02:40We were so close. It was a nervous wait,
01:02:42but we're still in. We're top four.
01:02:44Top
01:02:46four.
01:02:52How are you? Good. How are you?
01:02:54Everything is closed, man. It's okay.
01:02:56Let's see.
01:03:00Rude info. The dome is
01:03:02closed. Make your way directly to the pit
01:03:04stop. Fine. Let's go, mate.
01:03:10When I look back on the time that we've shared together
01:03:12throughout this race,
01:03:14I can see that
01:03:16Ian's been able to
01:03:18show a vulnerability in a way
01:03:20that we probably wouldn't be able to experience
01:03:22as much back home. He's been
01:03:24able to challenge himself physically,
01:03:26mentally, emotionally.
01:03:28We've been able to share in all of that together
01:03:30and to do that
01:03:32at the age that we are now,
01:03:34you don't get opportunities like that
01:03:36too often, so I'm really grateful.
01:03:48We've raced all throughout Namibia
01:03:50and I'm not
01:03:52ready to leave yet. I want to stay in
01:03:54this race. I want us to continue to experience
01:03:56things together and
01:03:58it hits me that this might be
01:04:00the end.
01:04:12Welcome in Spitskoppe.
01:04:14Thank you. Thank you.
01:04:16How are you? Thorpy and Christian,
01:04:18you are the last team to check in.
01:04:20Unfortunately,
01:04:22boys, your time on the race is over.
01:04:24Sure.
01:04:26The race has been
01:04:28incredible.
01:04:30We're
01:04:32disappointed with the result
01:04:34but we had a great day today.
01:04:36We've had a lot of great days on
01:04:38this race and
01:04:40part of the
01:04:42reality, not being able to move,
01:04:44you could see something like this
01:04:46happening as well.
01:04:48It's disappointing but there's some great teams
01:04:50that are left out there. Great people.
01:04:52You guys have been best mates forever.
01:04:54Must be sad it's over.
01:04:56Yeah, it's disappointing.
01:04:58There's so much more
01:05:00to go with the race. I think there's four teams
01:05:02left now. New destinations,
01:05:04new experiences for them to experience.
01:05:06I'm proud.
01:05:08I'm proud of Thorpy, particularly today.
01:05:10He really pushed through today and
01:05:12we had a new approach, a new attitude
01:05:14and got a lot more out of ourselves
01:05:16despite finishing in last position.
01:05:18It was a positive day for us
01:05:20so I'm glad to finish on that note.
01:05:22You've been injured for a little bit.
01:05:24You could have left legs ago
01:05:26but you didn't. We're here for
01:05:28Reach Out Australia. This is for people
01:05:30who are going through mental health challenges.

01:05:48there was something like Reach Out when
01:05:50I was younger but I was also here for
01:05:52Christian.
01:05:54I was also here to challenge myself.

01:05:58and you've done it all at the top level.
01:06:00It's been wonderful having you.

01:06:14Thank you, mate.

01:06:26Thailand!
01:06:28The final four
01:06:30will be tested in Asia.
01:06:32The village is completely on water.
01:06:34Oh my God, you really can't breathe.
01:06:36And with the end in sight
01:06:38Oh, I've got goosebumps!
01:06:40One foot wrong
01:06:42Oh my God, I'm all the day!
01:06:44will cost the team a spot in the finale.
01:06:46Oh!
01:06:48Oh my God!
