Ulajh is a 2024 Indian espionage thriller film directed by Sudhanshu Saria, who aslo co-produced it with Arjun Ahuja and written by Aatish Kapadia.
The film stars Janhvi Kapoor in the title role of Suhana Bhatia, a young ans ambitious Indian Foreign Service officer. Set against the heady world of international espionage, the film opens with Suhana's mission in London and spirals into a ploy involving her exotic beau Nakul (Gulshan Devaiah), who is eventually outed as a nefarious double-agent. With Nakul trying to show more of his wicked side, Suhana with her brand new set of personal & professional challenges while Nakula shows off his manipulative streak whenever he can.
The movie also stars Roshan Mathew, Adil Hussain and Rajesh Tailang in key roles. As part of these mostly negative reviews, the film's first half is praised for its intriguing setups and shuffling of characters but accused of lacking in pacing and coherence -- especially in the second half.
Ulajh is no classic and the movie is an exciting watch, away from some of the few thrilling moments and dramatic twists by Mr. Kapoor in his painfully bewildered role. The film is said to be an entertainer, that will also deal with the subject of nepotism.
