00:00Hello guys and welcome back. This is part 3. This is where we are going to change the
00:05colour of it for us. We are going to change the colour of it all. And then we are going
00:09to animate it. So as I said all my things are blueprints. That's what they are. As I
00:15said everything I make is a blender square. So if you put a blender plane in here. I'll
00:20show you that. I'll show you in all the videos just so you can understand it. So go here.
00:26Let's say you bring in a blender plane and you see you can just snap it to the edge.
00:31Turn the snapping hook and it just snaps to the edge. Snap it to that side. And then of
00:36course. Now it doesn't snap perfectly. It does snap perfectly. It's because I moved
00:40it. That's what happened. I shouldn't have moved it. But go here and delete that. Go
00:46back here and let's bring back in a blender plane. You see if I leave snapping turned
00:51on first. I don't want to snap the door. I want to snap the plane. So you see you can
00:59just snap it to the edge. It doesn't matter where you snap it. It just snaps perfectly
01:03because it's a blender plane. So let's say we've got a floor and we can go in here. Let's
01:08say this was a house. Basically just snap it to the back. Snap it up and you can see
01:16down the road. Go through the door. Into the werewolf house. Yeah. No. You wouldn't do
01:23that. Yeah. Anyway you wouldn't go walking into the actual dead. So what we want to do
01:29is click on the door. We want to hide the frame. We want to click on the actual window.
01:37Because first don't forget the window is part of the actual door frame. So click it. Left
01:43click it. Go to the side. Hold the up arrow key. Select this one. Right click. Split.
01:50Right click. Separate selection. Ok. Hide this. Hide this. Now just look at it and think
01:58yeah let's just leave it like that. Now what we can do. If we go into. Now I always tell
02:06you to do this even though I didn't do it earlier. But I'm going to show you this. Click
02:10on the model. Click off it. Click behind it. Go edit. Now what you want to do. Is look
02:16at the door frame. The window. Remember earlier when I said to you. You see the side of the
02:22window. What's wrong with that colour. Let me just turn the colour off that. Turn the
02:34colour off. Has Blender flipped it over. Has Blender flipped my face over. Let me check
02:44the face and make sure. It didn't flip it over. So what's going on with you. Ok so anyway
03:02as I was saying to you. What you want to do. You see the edge of the window. You can fill
03:10it in. You can go here. You can go edges or points. I just use points. That's what I use.
03:16And then you go here. Points. Fill it. Select the edge. Fill it. Select the edge. Fill it.
03:22This just fills the edge around the side of the window frame. Just in case you're getting
03:27a problem with it. Like in the game world. So just go around the window. Now once you
03:35do this part. You won't have to do none of this because I've already done it. But of
03:41course if you want to go back in and undo it. Then of course you can go ahead and do
03:46that. As I said I do nothing that I don't need to do. But this is just on here. So later
03:52on if I shatter the glass. That's what it's there for. I said you don't actually physically
04:02need it in the game world. But I need it if I'm going to shatter it. I said I want the
04:11game world to be kind of. I'm not going to use the word interactive. But if it's glass
04:17or anything like that. A piece of wood. Plastic. It doesn't matter. A piece of metal. I want
04:22it to bend. Twist and shape it. If it falls apart. I want it to fall apart. If you can
04:29break it. I want to be able to break it. As I said I want everything to behave like it's
04:36supposed to. I'm not going to go in the building and say. Hit the lightbulb with a stick. And
04:44the lightbulb just stays there. If you go in the room and you pound the lightbulb. Yep
04:53it's going to break. So I wouldn't recommend doing that anyway because you've got no shoes
04:59on. But in some parts it's good to do that because like I said to you. Because my game
05:07is kind of a little bit different and you've got no weapons. If you're being chased by
05:11a werewolf. Now don't forget they can see in the dark. So you can't. So the advantage
05:18in smashing the lightbulb in your case will be the fact that the werewolf because he can
05:27see in the dark. If he sees the glass on the floor he won't obviously walk in the room
05:33because he'll end up cutting his feet. And then he'll have to take a trip to the hospital.
05:39And yeah. Of course he won't be going to the hospital. He'll be going somewhere else. Then
05:50again it might be the next patient in the bed next to you. So it all depends. You can
05:57be different creatures in different places. You know what you're doing now. Now I've got
06:04to turn the edges inside out. Nope. I don't want that. I said when I'm making my content
06:28I do try and do it to the best of my ability and I try to make sure everything is actually
06:33facing the correct way. Well I don't want to say to you oh yeah go here download this
06:48model it's absolutely great. And then you email me and say hey do you notice this part
06:55here is actually upside down inside out back to front. I don't want to do that because
07:01the less time I can spend emailing it's better for me. I said it won't take long anyway to
07:19go round here. Then it's just a case of animating as all. Change the colour of the glass so
07:26it looks like you see the glass. I said it's good to kind of see the content being made
07:48from scratch that way you can actually see what it's like even before you download it.
07:54You can see the time, the effort that's been put into it. I said you might not like the models
08:01but I've got to make them for Red Bandari so I've got to make them anyway. So I'm thinking
08:05if I'm making them I might as well share them. If I make something like a pallet or something
08:13like that and let's say you're in the middle of making a pallet or a cardboard box or a
08:20window ledge. I think you don't need to make it because it's already made if you want it.
08:26You can just take my one, customise it, twist it, bend it, shape it. I said you don't have to
08:32anonymise it really. All my assets are available on the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
08:40365 days a year. Don't need a licence, don't need permission, just click and download.
08:46Once you've done that go here and just go flip. Perfect. You see how I'm more inside the window
08:54not outside the window. That's so when we're looking through the window we can actually see the panels.
08:59I mean not the panels but we can see the actual edge of the glass. Now the edge of the glass.
09:05Click here. Open it. Make sure it's in object mode. Click it. Make sure it's in object.
09:12Click on the door. It's not the door, it's the window. Two left clicks opens the texture.
09:19Click delete it. Make a new one. Put a shield on it. Go here. Go to alpha. To do glass it's really easy.
09:29Change 1 to 0 and the transparency of water is 1, 2, 3. Fantastic. Click the red bar.
09:39Go to the bottom. Click display. This is your display. Take the roughness completely off.
09:46Left click on drag it. Back in here. Press alpha. 1 to 0 and 0, 2, 1, 2, 3.
09:57What's the glass? Well it didn't change. It's supposed to have changed. But of course it didn't change.
10:05So that means it didn't apply properly to the actual thing. I was thinking how come it didn't apply?
10:11Come on. Is that alpha? Yep that's on alpha. That's on alpha. And that's not on alpha. I was thinking oh yeah.
10:19Messing around are we? OK. Click back on this. Delete that. Delete that. Just make sure you're actually on the correct one.
10:32Go here. Back in here. Go to alpha. As I said it should work absolutely perfect first time round.
10:44Go 1, 2, 3. Go half and half which is perfect. Turn that off. Go back in here. Press alpha.
10:530. As I said it does work. If you watch my video you'll see. Go 0, 1, 2, 3.
11:01When you click off the window is supposed to go transparent. Obviously for some reason it's not doing it.
11:08So go back in here. I was thinking how come I can't get transparency on my window?
11:14As I said if you can't really see transparency it's not going to look too perfectly great.
11:21So I was thinking OK so we need to change maybe the platform. Maybe we need to change the door?
11:26Maybe have a black door? Maybe? Let's change the door. I just want to see if it actually works.
11:35Go here. Go to dark. OK. Yep that will do. That's lovely. That's a perfect door for the way of level.
11:44All I'm going to do now is put a door handle on it. That's all I'm going to do. But I can add that later.
11:52So I don't need to add anything. I can put the final touches on it later on.
11:59So go here. Save it. Go back here. Save it again. Call it number 5. This ain't door 5 by the way.
12:07This door is going to be called probably number 3 and the 3 moons. Yep I'm going to call it the 3 moons.
12:16So that's what I'm going to call it. So as I said each level has to go with the actual part of the level.
12:23So what am I doing? Oh yeah I forgot. Go down here. I apologise. I was thinking of something else about animating the door.
12:31Go back to hide the frame. Clip the door. Now at this point you can decide whether you want a left door or a right door.
12:41Whichever side of the door you want. So look at the door. Nothing in here. I don't really know. So you want to go to points.
12:52Zoom in. Click on this door. Now call this. If you bring the framing. Look at the frame. You'll see the door has to open this way.
13:04Now the door has to open inwards. But now you can open it from the left or you can open it from the right. It's entirely up to you. It really is.
13:15So I think I'm going to put it on this side. Once you get the door right click. Go down to snap. Snap version. Snap. Cursor to active.
13:29Come out of this mode. I know it sounds silly. Come out of it. Go to objects. Set origin. Origin to cursor. Don't set it to geometry. Set it to cursor.
13:39So now it's set there. I think it's perfect. Leave it like that. Now of course what I want to do is click on this door frame. This is the window isn't it?
13:52Click the door frame. The window. Hold control. Right side of the keyboard. Click on the door. Go here. Parent and parent object.
14:04So the glass goes inside the door. That means when you move the door the glass will follow it. And of course we want it to follow the platform.
14:15Now click on the actual door frame. Click on the actual brick wall. Go here. Parent. Parent the object. Now it's gone inside there. So grab hold of it and just move it up.
14:29Just move it up and it goes into that file. Delete that. So now look we've got the wall which is connected to the door frame.
14:37Sorry the door frame is connected to the door and the door frame is connected to the glass. So now click the door. Click on the first frame. Right click. Insert animation.
14:50I think it's great. Of course because I've already done a couple of doors I'm going to set it to 60. Go here. Set it to 60 just to shorten the timeline. It's perfect. Go back to top view.
15:05And I forgot which way the door is opening. Zoom in a little bit. Ok it's got to open inwards. So I'm going to leave it in that mode for a moment. Just for my preference. So I'm going to go here.
15:22And then I'm going to go to the door frame. About there. I've got a link for the door handle. So right click. Insert keyframe. Come back out of that mode. Just come out of that. Now here this is how our door looks. I've actually turned the colour off temporarily.
15:42So we go here. Make sure that's in that mode. Back into colour. Turn the material back on. Oh now you can see through the door. You can see through the glass. See it is glass. I don't know why it didn't work the first time. I really don't. It's working now.
16:04When we export this now. I'll explain this part to you. When you export this. To see my glass I have to go in here. Unless I change my render settings. If I go into my cycles. If I go into this one. Yeah go in here. If I change this to this one. Workbench. And if I go into this one. You can see the colour and the glass hopefully.
16:30I'm going to show you my colour. Come on. It's not that colour is it? Let me have a look. Is it that colour? Is our door that colour? I don't think the door is blue. No because I changed the door to black. Yeah the door is black. No it's not. It is black but it's blue. I don't need that. How does that work?
16:56Come here. Change this to black. I don't know why that changed itself. So I had said to actually see the transparency. I have to go into this setting here. And change it to bench. And if you go to eevee. I'll show you the eevee. To eevee. Normally now. Well now it's working properly. Sometimes it doesn't show you.
17:22So you can put a smooth on that door. You can see how the door looks. See how it's a little bit jagged. So if you click on the door. You can see how it goes smoothly. See how that. I don't want it like that because I don't want it. So as I said. This is the door. So all I've got to do as I said. All I've got to do is put a handle on it. Like a door knob basically. That's what I've got to add to it.
17:46So when you download it. It's going to have a door handle on it. So it's going to look like this. How great is that? A completely utterly different door. For a completely utterly different level. Like I said. That's how you'll get it. So don't forget. There's going to be a handle on it.
18:06So as I said. You can download it. So as I said. When I share it. I share it as a glyph folder. So all you have to do is click download. Download it. Open Blender. Go to import. Import the glyph folder. Go here look. Say download. I'll save it here for you. Just so. I don't want to import it. I want to save it. Go back here.
18:28Now I'm going to select the whole thing. Go here. Export. Export glyph. Leave it in download. Save here. Give it a second. Let it do it's magic. That's it. Done. Finished. Go back. Import. Glyph. Number 5. Importing. Now we've got the door with the three moons. I'm thinking how great is that? Now of course. Now that we've done that.
18:56Of course we lost transparency. So as I said. What I need to be able to do in my game world. I need to be able to click my door. Bring it over here. Press play. And I need to be able to go to my door. And put my level over here. And press play.
19:16As I said. I want to show you exactly how to go about doing the animations. And that is exactly how you go about setting the animation. Now if you end up with a. Let's say you've already got your own model. You're having the animation problem. Let me explain something about the animation problem. Most people have all the parts separate. They're all separate.
19:41Ok. Now look at how your thing goes together. So if it's a door frame. And it's got a door on it. Put the door inside it. So if the door's got glass. A window. And then a box. A door handle. It has to go inside that. And then inside that. Once you pair that one to that one. So let's say you do these two. Go here. Go parent. And parent it. So you go in here. Parent. And parent object.
20:08Once you've done that properly. Redo your animation. And you can move it over to the screen. Anyway. As I always say. Thumbs up. Thumbs down. Subscribe. Thumbs up. I really hope these videos are helping you out. Not only do you get to learn how to do glass. I also show you how to animate. I also show you how to move the thing around the screen. Just in case.
20:29As I said. All my objects. I need them all sound contained. I need the sound and everything else. With the actual door handle. Everything that's actually on the door. So eventually I'll be giving you the sounds for the animation. So I will be updating the doors. So at the moment they're all just templates. So if you download them don't get my game. So anyway. Yeah. Ok. I'm out of here. So thanks very much. I very much appreciate you watching all my videos.
20:57And I really apologize for the hiccups and for the cold and flu thing as well. Anyway. Stay safe. Keep friendly. See you soon. Bye.
