00:00But how about a couple of teams that are unbeaten in Big 12 play?
00:07Arizona State, Kansas State, or the Arizona-Kansas State game was not a Big 12 game, despite
00:12what you might think.
00:14So Arizona, off to a 1-0 start.
00:16Texas Tech, off to a 2-0 start.
00:19Arizona winning outright last week against Utah, Sons, Cam, Rising.
00:25Six and a half points spread in Tucson in favor of the Cats against the Red Raiders.
00:29Again, the significance of this game in the Big 12 title race cannot be lost.
00:33How do you see it playing out?
00:34I want to harp on something here.
00:36Within Ben's top 10, we got to it, and you dropped Utah out.
00:39You did a great job with that, right?
00:41This is why I think the AP ranking is fun, but it would be really good if the CFP unveiling,
00:47like March Madness, only came out when the season was over.
00:51Because truly, and I know that I'm hard on Utah, but this isn't about that.
00:55It's about Utah's 18th right now, solely because they were 10th heading into last
01:02week.
01:03If you look, Arizona's win at Utah is better than anything Utah's done.
01:08They lost a head-to-head matchup, and Arizona's loss being at Kansas State is not some massive
01:14indictment.
01:15The Wildcats have the same record as Utah sitting right now.
01:19Or they're 3-1, right?
01:20So they played one less football game.
01:21But again, that's not why Utah's up there, because they beat Southern Utah.
01:26That, to me, is one of the dangers, I really believe, of the CFP unveiling coming earlier
01:31than it needs to, Ben.
01:32Because again, legitimately, if I sat down every voter, I said, explain to me Utah being
01:36there.
01:37Oh, well, they were 10th last week.
01:38Do you want me to unrank them?
01:39Yes!
01:40I do!
01:41I do!
01:42But people don't like making those drastic week-to-week changes.
01:45I will tell you this, Lisa.
01:46You mentioned Texas Tech.
01:48They're so far up against the eight ball now, they've been given no consideration.
01:52They win a game here against Arizona.
01:54They won't get accurate credit for it, because Arizona's not ranked when they should be ranked.
01:59And I know they're 26th.
02:00Well, 27th, right?
02:01Because they have 225.
02:02I know they're 27th, but that little number will matter more in the big picture.
02:07Now, this is an 11 o'clock, dead slate, off-card, nobody-pay-attention game, when it's a really
02:12important game in the Big 12.
02:13It really is.
02:14And I think that'll catch up, obviously, from weeks 8 to 12 in regards to, especially if
02:21one of these teams are undefeated.
02:22It's a great game.
02:23And you get great quarterback play.
02:25Brennan Morton playing well, and obviously, Noah Fafita.
02:28I will say, when you look at the transition this year with Noah Fafita, with Jed Fish
02:32last year, 72% completion percentage.
02:36This year, 63%.
02:37He has an interception in every game this year.
02:40They grinded out another victory against Utah.
02:43To me, Texas Tech is a different team when Taj Brooks is in that lineup.
02:47When he's out of that lineup, that's the game they lost against Washington State.
02:51Completely one-dimensional.
02:52When he's in there, they're a different animal.
02:55Again, I want the points here.
02:57I know I'm partial.
02:58I picked them to win the Big 12.
03:00I'm not backing down now.
03:01Arizona giving up $1.50 on the ground.
03:03I'll roll the dice.
03:04I think they win the ballgame outright.
03:06Tech, I have been critical of this year under Joey Maguire.
03:09They are 4-1 straight up, but just 2-3 against the number favored in all five games.
03:13Now, an underdog for the first time this year in the Joey Maguire era in Lubbock, which
03:18dates back to 2022.
03:206-5 against the spread.
03:22Arizona has not covered in either of its two games as the favorite this year, but they
03:26were laying 28 or more in their opening two games of the season, five and two ATS a year
03:33ago.
03:34Noah Fafita got off to such a strong start.
03:36Tedderoa, McMillan, more than 300 receiving yards as well.
03:40Last week against Utah, only $1.97.
03:43He's got three touchdowns in his last three games, does Fafita.
03:46He threw for four in week one.
03:49Come back last week, only 50 receiving yards against the Utes, but still has 503 of the
03:55overall 1,060 passing yards that Noah Fafita has had this season.
04:00That's more than 47%.
04:01Joe, to your point on Taj Brooks, at least 109 yards in all four games this year has
04:07only played in four games and yet is the sixth leading rusher in college football.
