00:00A military plane was used by several countries to attack their countrymen who are now being held in Lebanon.
00:06Is the Philippines also planning to do this in the middle of the afternoon during the evacuation?
00:11Let's find out with JP Soriano's report.
00:17The streets and the broken houses on one side of the road in southern Lebanon are empty.
00:24This is an indication of bombing on the area.
00:27This was taken by Lebanese husband of Lor, a Filipino who has been living there for 30 years.
00:32Some of his countrymen have already fled the area.
00:36We can see the bombs exploding. It's very powerful.
00:41We can see it in our area. It's very powerful.
00:45We moved to a faraway place. I can't sleep at night.
00:51In southern Lebanon, there are almost 300 Filipinos who have joined the repatriation efforts of the Philippine government,
00:58including Lor and her three children.
01:01They want to go home. They want to join me.
01:04But their father won't agree.
01:06The Philippine state is in alert level 3 or voluntary repatriation in Lebanon.
01:11Some Filipinos are ready to go home, but their commercial flights have been cancelled for several days
01:18due to the complicated situation in the surrounding areas of Lebanon.
01:22According to the Undersecretary for Migrant Affairs of the Department of Foreign Affairs,
01:26the repatriation is expected to continue next week.
01:31Starting this coming week, there will be more arriving.
01:36They arrive in vehicles by commercial flights being arranged for by POA.
01:42Remember, it's an all-of-government approach.
01:45Other countries like Spain, Greece, and Colombia are using military planes to evacuate their countrymen from Lebanon,
01:54said the DFA.
01:56We're contacting the DFA, talking if it's possible if they could spare a ship, a military ship, to patrol the area.
02:06Maybe because some ASEAN countries are doing that.
02:09Not necessarily for Lebanon, but maybe for the Houthis.
02:13So that as well, but military plane.
02:16No, we don't have plans for that.
02:18Even so, most of the 11,000 Filipinos who are working or have families in Lebanon want to stay there, according to the DFA.
02:28There's another camp of OFWs who don't want the alert level 4 to be raised
02:32because that would eventually mean they won't be able to return to Lebanon if they are repatriated.
