00:00The 4th of November 2000 and two proud clubs met at Elland Road to extend a rivalry that at times had been bitter.
00:08There was mutual respect between Leeds manager David O'Leary and Liverpool's Gerard Huliet, though,
00:13just as there had been between Don Revy and Bill Shankly in the past.
00:17Leeds were doing well in their first season in the Champions League, thrashing Begitas,
00:21beating AC Milan and drawing against Barcelona, but their league form was indifferent.
00:26They were only in mid-table and had seven international players out,
00:29including Harry Kuehl, Nigel Martin and Lucas Radeby.
00:32However, Lee Boya and Olivier Decor returned to the line-up.

00:40and he was up against former Leeds favourite Gary McAllister, who started for Liverpool,
00:44along with Sammy Hoopia, who was preferred to Stéphane Anceau in defence.

00:51and helped shoot the Reds to third position, was only a substitute.

03:18and Danny Hay, the 6'4 New Zealander, is about to come on,

25:12Mark Viduka's quadruple lifted Leeds to seventh position after this match,
