00:00But let's continue here with our UEFA Champions League review.
00:06Let's go to Slava Batryslava going into Manchester and losing to City 4-0.
00:11Erling Haaland, after a tremendous run in the league, he scored 10 times in only 6 games,
00:17gets his first UEFA Champions League goal this year.
00:19Yeah, this was by, you know, from the get-go it was a very unbalanced match.
00:24Manchester City has an incredible depth, it's frightening, they control this match from
00:28start to finish and Bratislava barely got a sniff.
00:31But I think that is also part of what this championship means in Europe, right?
00:34You expose these teams to the type of football that they want to compete at, so I believe
00:39that they will get some benefit out of this.
00:41All righty, so it's time to review more results, but PSV, Eindhoven and Sporting could not
00:47be separated.
00:48Obviously disappointing for those Latino and Mexican fans not seeing Chucky Lozano on the
00:55pitch, long-term injury for him, and I think, you know, this is a guy that PSV needs to
01:00get over the hump.
01:01It is, and you see that, you know, we'll be talking later about this upcoming, you know,
01:07North American Clasico, and we see that the U.S. right now has some of the most impressive
01:12amount of players that they've ever had play, participate in Champions League, being influential,
01:16and as we see, Mexico is falling behind.
01:19There's not a lot of people, you know, highlighting a performance from the Mexican national team
01:23right now, something that, you know, hopefully changes in the future.
01:26Other big results, Benfica won 4-0 to Atlético de Madrid, which comes from a very, very controversial
01:34weekend where they actually were suspended.
01:38Their stadium was partially suspended for three games after the Clásico.
01:43There were disturbances after the game.
01:46One of the ultra groups were getting into it with Courtois, and they didn't like it.
01:51They're a mess, and it just seems like it was yesterday we were talking about the Clásico
01:55Español, the big derby, obviously, when it comes to Madrid.
01:58Atlético losing to Benfica, it was not an easy loss for them.
02:01How about Real Madrid, you know, that game against Lille, Mbappé's Lille brothers team,
02:05by the way, and losing in France, 1-0.
02:08I think this is the biggest surprise of the matchday.
02:11You wouldn't expect that Real Madrid will lose to the Farmers, as they were, as they
02:15are called in the French League, but what we see is that in Champions League is the
02:20magical Wednesday, the magical Tuesday, anything can happen on these days, and this is the
02:24proof.
02:25You cannot sleep because even a smaller team can make you pay.
02:29So I already started with my Beatles references with Paris Saint-Germain's, you know, I can't
02:33buy myself a Champions League.
02:35Well, now let's go to the land of John Paul George and Ringo, a 2-0 victory for Liverpool
02:39against Bologna.
02:40Yeah, a great game at Callister, excellent performance, Mo Salah coming back and making
02:45a statement after being quiet at the beginning of the season.
02:48I really like this Liverpool team.
02:49I think they are going to be growing both in the European Championship as well as their
02:53domestic league, but they have tough competition in both ends.
02:57All righty.
02:58So let's talk more about what happened then again in this UFA Champions League.
03:03We talked about RB Salzburg not coming out with a victory, well, RB Leipzig also coming
03:09back in the losing end against the mighty Juventus.
03:11Yeah, Juventus, another team that is, you know, making a statement of the quality and
03:16the pedigree of this team that they need to be winning every stage, in every game,
03:21every competition.
03:22Another game that I really, really liked, Aston Villa ending Bayern Munich, 41 unbeaten
03:29UCL run in group stage games with a 1-0 victory.
03:33Imagine that, 41 games without losing on Champions League.
03:36You know what's incredible?
03:37Obviously, everyone puts their eyes on Bayern Munich, but 10 years ago, I used to do Aston
03:41Villa TV for the U.S. and we got to see all their games.
03:45They were really, really, really down at that time.
03:47Jack Riley, if I remember, who's now a superstar for Manchester City, was with them, but they
03:51just couldn't win.
03:52They were losing in the Open Cup or the FA Cup against teams that were like in the lower
03:57divisions.
03:58It was just terrible.
03:59Jolyon Lescott, I remember, was there.
04:00And then to see what's happened to Aston Villa in the last 20, 10 years, a team that's so
04:05traditional in England, it's just been incredible.
