00:00We all know why you're here, but how great is it to have an event like this?
00:07It's absolutely great to be able to celebrate all of the Olympians from Northern Ireland at one event.
00:15Sport's always known for bringing people together, and this is an absolutely great show.
00:21I'm led to believe you have a special role with Team Ireland?
00:24I was deputy chef of the mission for Paris, so to be up here and to see some of our team up there tonight is going to be really something special.
00:32For both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, how important is it that whenever Togo comes round that there's still more medals coming?
00:38LA.
00:39LA, sorry.
00:40We're ultimately judged on performance and medals, so managing to keep that pipeline going is hugely important.
00:52Thank you, cheers.
00:54Angela Davis, many thanks for joining us this evening, and how much are you looking forward to this event?
00:58Very, very much indeed, yes. I've travelled over from England this morning, not specifically for this, but this is a bonus that it's happening while I'm here.
01:06Northern Ireland athletes have done really well, we had seven medals at the Olympics, and it's definitely something to be celebrated.
01:12Yes, I'm really looking forward to being there to celebrate and be grateful for what they've achieved.
01:17Was it the uniqueness of the event that's why you came? Is it something that's very peculiar, is that why you're here?
01:22No, to be honest, I belong to rock choir, and we're singing at the MAC tomorrow night, and I just got notified that this was on while I was here.
01:35And then an added bonus is that Ryan McMullan is performing.
01:39Very good, so you're here for the entertainment as well, and were you glued to the Olympics whenever it was on then?
01:44As much as I could, because I work for the NHS, so long hours, so I didn't watch as much of it as I'd like to, but I really enjoyed what I saw.
01:53Thanks for your time.
01:54You're more than welcome.
01:55John Muir from Ballyclare, how are you, right side the SSE the night. Can you explain to me why you're here now?
02:03I'm here to celebrate the tremendous achievement by Northern Ireland athletes at the Olympics this year.
02:11Obviously, well known, the best ever, and I think they deserve support.
02:15And obviously athletes from Team GB and Team Ireland as well, and they both deserve that recognition?
02:20Oh, absolutely. I mean, they're Northern Irish, that's the way I look at it.
02:25And did you watch much of the Olympics then?
02:27I watched a bit of the rugby, and when I could, I watched it. It's always very exciting, and I tried to watch it, especially when there was Northern Irish athletes and Irish and GB athletes competing.
02:38And do you think more could be done for a legacy? Do you think more money could be given to sport for a legacy for 2028?
02:43Well, I think sport is a great way of bringing people together, and I don't see why not, but I mean there are lots of other things that need money at this particular time. Mr Stammer would tell you that anyway.
02:55Thanks very much.
02:56Okay.
02:57Thank you. Cheers.
