If any director should be making 2.5 hour apology sequels, it’d be Todd Philips for “JOKER.” But while it's easy to share “FOLIE A DEUX's” obvious disdain for the shadow its godawful predecessor has cast over the last 4 years of pop-culture and its even more obvious seething contempt for obsessed Joker fanboys; but the resulting film reveals an obnoxious obliviousness to WHY the original accumulated its toxic reputation in the first place. Thankfully Lady Gaga CAN in fact sing, otherwise there'd be literally nothing to look at OR listen to for the entire interminable runtime.
