00:00Kevin, where are you now? I know you're from Aiken, South Carolina, and I know you've probably
00:09seen a lot since you've been home from that hurricane devastation from Helene. Are you
00:14care to just give us an update on how those conditions and how tough it really has been
00:19in your area?
00:20Well, I actually haven't been back to Aiken yet. I was told my area where my house is
00:27was probably the worst in Aiken, as far as trees down, power lines down, so we'd probably
00:32be the last ones to get power. So my friends basically told me there was no point in coming
00:36there. My parents and in-laws were keeping my kids while we were in Montreal, so my parents
00:42brought them down to Keowha Island to my sister's house, and I just flew here from Montreal.
00:47So we're chilling here. It's Wednesday, I guess, so they're telling us maybe Friday
00:52or Saturday on power.
00:53Gosh, that's insane. Insane, man.
00:55It'll be a whole week. We had to cancel our music festival for the foundation this weekend,
01:00so I've been working on that all day yesterday, trying to figure that out.
01:03Gosh.
01:04So it's been a bit of a mess.
01:06Your foundation event, was that going to be in Aiken?
01:09Yeah, it was going to be in Aiken on Friday night and Saturday, which we tried to figure
01:13out a way to do it, but it's just impossible, trying to pull resources from the relief and
01:19using power when people don't have it. It's just a bad look, and we could have pulled
01:22it off, but it wasn't going to be the product we wanted it to be, so we're going to do a
01:27free event downtown Aiken to have donations, all going back to relief efforts, and hopefully
01:33people show up and donate, and my foundation's going to run a big relief fund and try to
01:36give back directly to people.
01:38And when will that be, Kevin? Will that still be this weekend?
01:41Saturday night. So one of the guys that was going to play at my festival was Jojo Herman
01:46from Widespread Panic, so him and Sam Holt, who's Michael Hauser's guitar tech for years,
01:52are still going to come to Aiken and put on a free show just for donation relief.
01:56Wow.
01:57Jojo's donating back his fee that we paid him to come to our big festival to the relief
02:02efforts. He's just driving down from Atlanta, and we're going to put it downtown Aiken.
02:06We're going to put it for free, encouraging people to bring non-perishable items. And
02:13then my foundation set up a relief fund, and we just put it live on the website.
02:18On my foundation website, KisnerFoundation.com, my executive director's going to set up a
02:23pop-up and a direct relief fund, so people can go straight to our site, donate to the
02:28relief fund. We're going to literally hand out checks to people that request money that
02:32have lost power, lost homes, lost whatever, come to our office. She's going to hand out
02:37checks from that relief fund next week.
02:38So after Saturday night, we should see how much money we raise, and then you just submit
02:43a request for funds through our website, and come see us, man. We're happy to help
02:49the community.
