00:00I've been playing guitar for many years, probably about 20 odd years now, but this
00:05McGilley project kind of started off in lockdown, it was, so during lockdown I think we're all
00:11trying to find something to do, you know, we're all scratching the walls, so I dusted
00:15off my old loop pedal and I started writing this weird, bizarre, instrumental Celtic music
00:20and posted my first video and it just kind of got more attention than I ever thought
00:25it would.
00:26There's a foundation on which to rebuild your life, but it takes grit, determination
00:30and unwavering resilience to climb back to the top.
00:35But with each step forward you become stronger and more resilient than ever before.
00:40Remember, the greatest comebacks often start from the lowest moment.
00:44So every song's different, right, and it's weird instrumental music, you know, and it's
00:49all coming from one guitar, you know, but the first element of music from that particular
00:55song that came to me was the melody of the bowing section, so everything else was written
00:59around that.
01:00Yeah, I ended up calling it Moments of Time, and that title kind of gave me the inspiration
01:05of that idea that eventually was the video, so, like, I think the older we get, the more
01:14aware we are of time passing, like, it's just, you know, blink and you missed it.
01:19My stepmum Esther, she realised how privileged she is to still have the parents here.
01:24I often think about past relatives, you know, through photos and stuff like that, and I
01:30thought, you know, it would be lovely that I would cherish if I had videos of them, which
01:34I don't, unfortunately, but, so for my stepmum, I said, you know what I'm going to do?
01:38I'm going to create this video for your parents, my step-grandparents, and it'll be something
01:43for her to cherish.
01:44So that's what we did.
01:47It's in the memories we create, the love we share, and the impact we leave behind.
01:56This is our life.
