Asuna An Interesting Perspective on (full dive) RPG's and such (slightly updated)

I first made this video about 3 years ago and I realized I needed to clarify something about what I REALLY wanted to say at one point in the video. Plus, I turned the volume up a bit b/c it was a bit low so hopefully that did the trick.

00:00I recorded this video 3 years ago on my phone, so that's why the aspect ratio is so different
00:06as if it were recorded on my phone, because it was.
00:10And also something else, there's a scene that I actually changed from 3 years ago, that
00:18part of the video from 3 years ago, that I put in that I thought would be better, that
00:23actually it was what I really wanted to say, so after one of the interesting perspective
00:30scenes when it comes to this, that's what it was about.
00:33So this is a new and well, updated version, slightly updated version of this interesting
00:41perspective video.
00:42So here it is.
00:43Konbanwa minna-san, Cosplay Joe once again.
00:47Now this is a little bit of an unusual video, but it's something that I've been thinking
00:51about ever since I was watching Alicization, that was back in January of 2021, I'd previously
01:00watched the first episode over a year prior to that, but I got back to it, actually after
01:07watching A Hidden Dungeon, only I can enter the first two episodes, and yes it's not at
01:12all in the same league as an SAO, but that was the reason I started, that's the reason
01:17why I got really back into it again, and previously I did see the first two series
01:25and also Ordinal Scale, just as an FYI.
01:28But anyway, the reason why it's an interesting perspective is that, while I didn't quite
01:35grow up with Asuna's background, I do share some similarities in terms of gaming or with
01:43gamers as well, because I myself am a very casual gamer, to say the least, in fact it's
01:52been years since I really played, well a new RPG, quote unquote, it's like Final Fantasy
01:59and Chrono Cross, now in True Flowers 3, like the intro to True Flowers 3, that poem, I'll
02:04link it in the description below, I basically described it, it's like three and a half minutes
02:09long, the intro anyway, and that basically gives you the backstory, plus I have a few
02:14other videos anyway, but anyway, I was trying to look, before I had the light novels, I
02:20was trying to read the exact scene in terms of commonalities, basically at some point
02:27in the light novels, Asuna's backstory in relation to video games was revealed, and
02:32I'm paraphrasing obviously, but she was basically saying that before SAO came out, like she
02:39obviously was like the daughter of the CEO, they were quite strict and stringent, especially
02:46when it comes to grades, and you know, studying and stuff, which I'll explain in English,
02:50I'll use a kiddie joke in this scene that I'm about to show you, but basically she never
02:55touched a video game until SAO came along, it was actually her brother that got the game,
03:02but not for her, it was for him, but he couldn't play it at the last minute, she wanted to
03:06escape, and obviously for those who saw SAO 2, especially Mother's Bizarre, you could
03:11clearly understand why, but anyway, she played it, or the launch day, she snuck it, started
03:20playing it, and well, the rest is history, let's just say, but because of that, because
03:25she doesn't have the gamer mentality like Kirito did, like hardcore gamer, she offers,
03:32that's why I call it an interesting perspective, on full dive RPGs really, because with this
03:38scene, with this marriage I'm about to show you, yeah, it's from episode 6, this was after,
03:45I forget the exact name, what's the name, but you'll recognize the same, basically she
03:50offers an interesting perspective on marriage in SAO, so let's just get to that scene.
05:02So, yeah, yeah, yeah, you can see, like, obviously a very different perspective, I guess, with
05:29a lot of gamers, and I'm not, I don't know too many, like, girl gamers, but that's not
05:37obviously the normal line of thinking in regards to something like marriage, with SAO, like
05:43saying that's pragmatic, and also very romantic, because you're sharing all that stuff, leaving
05:51it, you know, there's nothing to hide anymore in terms of, it's kind of like real life marriage,
05:56and those who are married, or in long term relationships, you obviously understand what
06:00I'm talking about. So, but there's also one other scene from War of Underworld, where
06:06she goes into, how about, Akito, it was episode 10, I think it was, it was basically the debate
06:16between, like, Alice and Asuna, like, between who was more important, this was from just
06:23before that, like, that meeting in the tent, and it just shows just how big of a heart
06:28she has. In fact, right around Easter this past year, I actually made a motivational
06:33poster-type thing to that, and you'll understand why if we show this scene, like, what a great
06:41attitude that she has. So, here it is.
09:11So, yeah, once again, it just shows how big of a heart she has, and, you know, it's just
09:40shows how big of a heart that Asuna has. And, yeah, as you can tell, she's clearly
09:45obviously doesn't act like you're a girl gamer either, or the usual girl gamer. Like, especially
09:53those who like, you know, fighting games, or adventure games, and all, you know, they're
09:57not that, well, let's just say, touchy-feely type, you know, they get all, like, emotional-sentimental
10:03in that way, you know.
10:05But you get the point. You know, that's why I say a very interesting perspective on this.
10:10Whether it be Full Dive or Soul Translator in this last case, that's why I say she offers
10:14a very interesting perspective. So, yeah, absolutely. I hope that you found this insightful,
10:22and also, in case you're wondering, so I can clarify this, I also do share a lot with Kirito
10:28in terms of just with anime fandom in general, especially with going to cons, because, you
10:32know, I usually just go by myself. I solo it. I would prefer that. I mean, of course,
10:37I'll meet up with friends while I'm there, but, you know, if there's friends there. But
10:43I also prefer to go solo, like with Kirito, in terms of, well, Aincrad before, he met
10:48Asuna. So, a little bit of both there, but like I said, I understand the perspective
10:54of Asuna there, because, you know, as I said, a very casual game. When I was a kid, actually,
11:03it was mostly just sports games and stuff like that, and I didn't get into RPGs until
11:09I was a teenager. I was about 15 years old, right around the same age as Asuna and Kirito
11:15when they met. So, just as an FYI. So, alright, I hope this explained everything why I believe,
11:22why I think Asuna brings a very interesting perspective with full-time and with RPGs,
11:27and I hope that you found this insightful and understood this very interesting perspective.
11:34Alright, well, take care, Amina.
