00:21back in 2018. To recap, the former first lady was photographed in the bold fashion choice
00:27while traveling to and from McAllen, Texas, to visit Upbring New Hope Children's Shelter,
00:33which houses migrant children. In the photos, Melania can be seen in a green jacket with
00:39the words,
00:40"'I really don't care, do you?' written across the back."
00:44This raised many questions. Some wondered if Melania was trying to send a message about
00:48how she felt about her husband's immigration policies. The then-first lady's spokesperson,
00:54Stephanie Grisham, argued that this wasn't the case. Grisham took to Twitter to share,
00:59"...today's visit with the children in Texas impacted First Lady Melania Trump greatly.
01:05If the media would spend their time and energy on her actions and efforts to help kids, rather
01:10than speculate and focus on her wardrobe, we could get so much accomplished on behalf
01:15of children."
01:16However, Melania gave a different explanation for her decision to wear the jacket in an
01:21interview for ABC News, explaining,
01:23"...and it was for the people and for the left-wing media who are criticizing me and
01:30want to show them that I don't care."
01:32This statement aligned with a tweet from Donald Trump that offered a similar explanation for
01:37Melania's cryptic fashion choice.
01:40The Trump family made history when they chose to skip President Joe Biden's inauguration.
01:46Donald Trump was the only president in recent years to opt out of their successor's inauguration.
01:52You might recall Trump's claims of election fraud following the 2020 U.S. election. The
01:58former U.S. president seemed to be resistant to Joe Biden taking over his role in the White
02:02House, so perhaps this is why he didn't attend his inauguration. Trump said during a speech
02:08following the 2020 election,
02:10"...this is a fraud on the American public."
02:14He continued,
02:15"...we were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election."
02:23Former U.S. President-elect Joe Biden reacted to Trump's announcement regarding not attending
02:26his inauguration during a conference in January 2021. He stated,
02:31"...one of the few things he and I have ever agreed on. It's a good thing I'm not showing
02:36up."
02:37He went on to confirm that he had changed his mind regarding Trump's attendance. He
02:41previously wanted the former president to show up to set a positive example, but it
02:46seems that Trump's handling of the attack on the U.S. Capitol put an end to this.
02:53Donald Trump's relationship with his daughter, Ivanka, has been labeled by some as bizarre.
02:57This is because Donald has a long history of making inappropriate comments about Ivanka.
03:03During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in 2004, the former U.S. president gave Stern
03:08permission to call his daughter a piece of s----. Trump's comments, which many would
03:13consider disturbing, are nothing new. You might recall that the businessman made an
03:17arguably even more unsettling statement about Ivanka during a 2006 appearance on The View.
03:23Things took a turn for the worse after Trump was asked whether or not he would approve
03:27of his daughter gracing the cover of Playboy magazine. Trump said,
03:31"...I don't think Ivanka would do that inside the magazine, although she does have a very
03:35nice figure. I've said that if Ivanka weren't my daughter, perhaps I'd be dating her."
03:40And the creepiness doesn't stop there. During a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone, Trump
03:45reportedly told the interviewer, in reference to Ivanka,
03:48"...Yeah, she's really something, and what a beauty, that one. If I weren't happily married
03:53and, you know, her father."
03:56Donald Trump re-entered the world of politics once again in November 2022, when he announced
04:01he would be running for U.S. president in 2024. Although Trump's kids are usually by
04:06their father's side, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr. were nowhere to be found during
04:11the announcement.
04:13It turns out that Trump Jr. couldn't attend because he was on a hunting trip at the time,
04:17while Ivanka seemingly wants nothing to do with politics. Ivanka shared a statement with
04:22CNN regarding her absence, and it appears that she won't be nearly as involved with
04:26her father's campaign this time around, if at all. She revealed,
04:30"...I love my father very much. This time around I am choosing to prioritize my young children
04:36and the private life we are creating as a family. I do not plan to be involved in politics.
04:42While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political
04:47arena."
04:48She went on to add,
04:49"...I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and I will always
04:53be proud of many of our administration's accomplishments."
04:56Ivanka's decision might indicate how she feels about her father's return to politics, or
05:01maybe she just wants to distance herself from the chaos. Regardless, Donald Trump appears
05:06to have lost one of his cheerleaders.
05:09Donald Trump Jr. has come to his father's defense in some of his most controversial
05:13moments. Back in May 2022, former U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper came forward to reveal
05:20that Donald Trump suggested launching missiles into Mexico to target drug cartels during
05:25his time as president. Esper said during an appearance on 60 Minutes,
05:30"...I'd say, Mr. President, you know, I understand the motive, because he was very serious about
05:35dealing with drugs in America. But I'd explain to him, we can't do that. It would violate
05:41international law. It would be terrible for our neighbors to the South."
05:44"...that would, you know, impact us in so many ways."
05:48Trump Jr. took to Twitter to defend his father following these shocking allegations, writing,
05:53"...I'm still trying to figure out the recent media outrage about my father possibly wanting
05:58to target Mexican drug cartel manufacturing facilities in Mexico. Is that supposed to
06:03be a bad thing?"
06:04On a separate occasion, he seemingly attempted to rationalize his father's decision to praise
06:09Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un.
06:13Over the years, tabloids have dubbed Tiffany Trump the Forgotten Trump Child. Unfortunately
06:18for Tiffany, Donald Trump has jokingly taken jabs at her over the years, so this probably
06:23doesn't help. During an appearance on Fox & Friends in November 2016, Donald suggested
06:29he wasn't as enthusiastic about Tiffany's accomplishments as he could have been. The
06:34former U.S. president said while calling into the show,
06:37"...I'm very proud of my children. I mean, I'm just looking at them right now as an example
06:42for your show. But I'm very proud, because Don and Eric and Ivanka and, you know, to
06:47a lesser extent, because she just got out of college, but, uh, Tiffany, who has also
06:52been so terrific."
06:54It seems that Tiffany has never really been her father's favorite child. A leaked clip
06:59from The Howard Stern Show even revealed that her siblings allegedly advocated for her to
07:04be removed from her father's inheritance. This appears to align with claims an anonymous
07:09source made to People in 2017. The source alleged to the outlet,
07:13"...she says she is not guaranteed anything, which is one of the reasons Tiffany and Marla
07:18have been so respectful of her dad and tiptoed around so much."

07:34lips with Donald Trump. A clip shared by The Independent in 2018 shows the seemingly not-so-happy
07:40couple standing alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte. Donald
07:46makes multiple attempts to hold Melania's hand, most of which she blatantly ignores.
07:51A separate clip shared by The Independent documents the viral moment in 2020 when Melania
07:56seemingly refused to hold Donald's hand while exiting a private plane. In the clip, the
08:02former president again tries grabbing his wife's hand on numerous occasions, but she
08:06pulls away every time.

08:12Perhaps she just isn't the affectionate type. Or maybe Donald's controversial presidency
08:16took a toll on the relationship, because Melania also yanked her hand away following the 2020
08:22presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump. This time, the then-First Lady
08:27didn't try to make her frustrations subtle. Instead, she pulled her hand away from Donald
08:32with quite a bit of force.
08:35The internet pointed out the difference in the way Donald Trump and Barack Obama treated
08:39their spouses during their inaugurations. In a side-by-side clip of both moments shared
08:45by Us Weekly, you'll see that Barack waits for wife Michelle to exit the car so that
08:50they can walk side-by-side. In contrast, Donald got out of the car without Melania, and seemingly
08:56had no problem walking ahead of her as she fell behind.
08:59It has been suspected for years that there is a lack of love between Donald and Melania.
09:05And in 2018, a book by former White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman further fueled
09:11these rumors. In the book, titled Unhinged, An Insider's Account of the Trump White House,
09:17Newman alleged that Melania planned to divorce Trump at the end of his term. She claimed
09:22that the then-First Lady chose to wait because she feared Trump would tamper with her citizenship,
09:27writing,
09:28"...if Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave him while he's in office,
09:33he would find a way to punish her. Why not pardon himself over an alleged visa payoff?"
09:39Well, Melania and Donald are still married, so the reason for their lack of affection
09:44remains a mystery.
