00:00And the touchstone of my life has always been music.
00:09Through the good times, through the bad times, I've always relied on music to pull me through.
00:15And even when I was in my darkest times, I still played music, I still recorded music.
00:21So I have to say thank you to music for being the most incredible inspiration to me throughout
00:26my whole life.
00:28But when I first became successful in those first five years, it was wonderful.
00:35And I told I wanted, you know, I wanted people to love the songs, I wanted them to buy the
00:39records and come to the concerts.
00:41But I had no foundation.
00:43There was just the music, the success, the fame.
00:48And it was an emptiness, as you saw.
00:51And so, eventually, in 1990, I got sober.
00:57And when that happened, I began to understand what was missing from my life.
01:03Humility, gratitude, and a faith.
01:11And I had to build a foundation.
01:14Yes, music was wonderful.
01:15Yes, fame was wonderful.
01:18But it didn't satisfy me.
01:20Something was missing.
01:21So eventually, I found complete and utter happiness and bliss when I met David and when
01:30I had my children, our children.
01:34And it satisfied me so much.
01:36I've never felt happiness like I have now.
