00:00A man in Manila was found wanted in a rape case.

00:05The suspect's motive is to serve as a scapegoat to Filipinos and foreigners.

00:10Denise Osorio has the report.

00:15The Manila Police District found the top one most wanted suspect in the district level for cybercrime and rape

00:22on September 27 in the Philippine General Hospital.

00:26Seven warrants of arrest were filed against him, eight complaints of cybercrime, and many cases of robbery.

00:33The most serious case was a rape without a bail.

00:37All the victims were women.

00:39It's hard to count how many were raped, threatened, and even kidnapped.

00:46His motive, the threat he's mentioning, is to serve as a scapegoat to a client.

00:59Most of the victims were young.

01:04When he's enticed, he will do his motive.

01:09He will ask for a video and a cell phone.

01:15He will get a cell phone and look at his friends, his friends who gave birth to the victim,

01:24and he will send them nude photos or videos that he took.

01:30He's threatening them.

01:32He's also asking for money.

01:34If he won't sell it, he will spread it or upload it on porn sites.

01:38The suspect was identified as Jose Cedric Mejia Jimenez, 38 years old.

01:44He's a lawyer and an IT graduate.

01:47This is the reason why he hacked the social media account of his victims.

01:52According to Manila Police District Director, Police Brigadier General Arnold Thomas Ibay,

01:57as of now, only one minor victim has been arrested.

02:01He's also asking for help from others to help them.

02:05We're still researching.

02:07We're still looking for other victims.

02:11We didn't know that there were that many victims.

02:14We thought it was just one incident.

02:16That's when we saw his warrants.

02:20He also has a case for violation of RA 9165.

02:26He also has illegal drugs.

02:29He has an anti-child abuse violation.

02:34He also has trafficking in person.

02:37He also has an anti-photo and video violation.

02:42He also has an estafa case.

02:44He also has a robbery case.

02:47He also has a rape case.

02:49Despite this, the suspect did not confess.

02:52According to Alias Jose Cedric Mejia, he was jailed for a robbery case.

02:57I did not do anything related to the harassment or anything.

03:03The suspect pleads that he will only defend himself in court.

03:07Authorities are urging the public to report any alleged activity

03:12and to continue to give importance to online safety

03:15in order to avoid such crimes.
